  • Tao bless god!!!!

  • ...silent tao, silent noize!...

  • I think it is ok to try your tao different ways and the egoless computer voice has it's merits. I have just uploaded the complete tao, all at once, on one video. I used my own voice and there are parts, I feel, asked for emotion. My previous attempts were my own interpretation but this time I used Derek Lin's because I thought it to be the most accurate.

  • @Paracelsus23 I prefer a human voice, it is natural

  • Such a beautiful and wise poem. I hope I have done it justice in my own video. Click my name and let me know.

  • Senses We feel the pulse of the earth See into the soul of the snake Hear the cries in the wind Smell the pain in the air Taste the emotions of the water Touch the hearts in life As fear, love, rage create emotion within us We kiss the tears that cry from the pulse of all existence as our senses awaken the last spirit within us creator at globalmagik . com
  • A very nice reading. Of course, to comment on what it means after hearing it for the first time... Those who speak do not know. Those who know do not speak. lol :)

  • @Changtzu63 So true my friend. To know the answer, first you must lose yourself in the question.

  • @hts2008w1010 : because they follow things that are external, not inner .

  • I prefer the 道德经 more ;)

  • Look at yourself. Do you love it? If so, then you should love all other people the same. You should love the planet the same. You shoud love the sun the same. You should appreciate our eventual demise and understand love for what it is.

  • Why is there no more voice reading the script like before. I miss posting it my facebook page. This is lovely. Add me I'm Tao Te Ching on Facebook <3

  • I alone feel these things? Or are there many?

  • @movadoband many....but, we, yet, are feeble.

  • @movadoband The many each call themselves "I".

  • Makes being a loser acceptable, even desireable, cool.

  • @movadoband I think it means that winning and/or loosing is irrelevant when compared to greater things such as inner peace and happiness =)

  • @thelifeuwant I know...too bad others don't see it that way, I was being sarcastic.

  • @thelifeuwant Or perhaps that they do not exist without someone to observe them. And that where there is winning, there will always arise failure, because you measure everything against your memory of succes. Without the memory of succes there can be no failure and no succes.. hence peace.

  • Timeless Wisdom

  • This is my favorite translation.

  • "I drift like a wave on the ocean"

I once described that when I'm at peace my mind floats as if on an ocean. As a writer I strived to understand the origins of creativity and that process has begun to lead me to the source of all things.

  • "Stop thinking, and end your problems." very nice.

  • @rahxephon52 and the first step in stopping is 'noticing'. notice right now, are you thinking? ask yourself: 'is this thinking absolutely necessary to what i am doing right now?' and you will find 90% of the time it is not, and yet it takes great energy from you, it diverts your attention away from the outside. if you do not notice, you can become a 'sleeper', like most people, watch them in rush-hour, their faces, asleep in thought. (facebook: nikolai lougovskoi (kid kissing a fish photo) :)

  • @rahxephon52 I think it is meaningless. How can one stop thinking, if the action of stopping implies future and thus time and thus thought. There is only thought.

  • @heeelmooi well, the way I interpret that line is people often drown themselves in useless thoughts that do them no good, negative thoughts that hinder their potential. I mean there is no right and wrong, it's all up to how you see it.

  • @rahxephon52 I agree with you. Except I don't think that there is a time when humans do not drown themselves in useless thought. There is no outside to it. Thinking of the Tao Te King is as good or bad as thinking of McDonalds.. it's thought. There is no outside to it.. making this statement, which is seemingly outside of it (since it is about it) completely ridiculous as well... because it also just thought. There's only one thing.. and really there's no.. thing. But you're right

  • @heeelmooi Enter a thoughtless version of the timeless eternal now.

  • @rahxephon52 Doesn't that not conflict with a open mind?

  • In Chinese, "Tao" means "way" which Lao Zhi elaborated it as the "way of universe"; meanwhile, "Te" means "virtue", which Lao Zhi thought it was wat the sages made to "predend" Tao, however not Tao itself.

  • Love the word as yourself, then you can care for all things....So insightful

  • Success is as dangerous as failure! So true.

  • wow.

the computer voice actually captures the point perfectly.

    how interseting.

  • I only looked into this stuff because i had depression. On the brink of trying meds but this type of material cured me fully. Realized it was just a state of mind and I could perceive my world however i want, or something like that, lol. Now i just find myself fighting my ego, I grew up in a pretty competitive family playing sports and racing alot. It's damn hard to find a balance!

  • @Johnsonville87 ....consider Wu Wei as a way to balance.

  • the voice demonstrates neutrality? but then aren't the pictures too beautiful in our concepts? they invoke my idea of natural and artificial beauty, they aren't neutral. if the voice demonstrates a neutral voice, neither positive or negative and free of our heavy concepts that are extremes away from the path, then the images undercut the relativism that needs capturing. Like it though, and images serve to help listening.

  • @daoistfromebay it's the silence that must be heard. desiring a neutral image is still desiring.

  • @jeremyfrancis very interesting

  • quit drugs!

  • Conciousness needs to be included in Science. But, Science is incapable of tackling this factor. I think conciousness is an objective aspect of reality. I think all beings radiate their conciousness in all directions at all times. It is more like standing in a river. You make waves with your thoughts and just being, and those ripples forever, and infinitely alter the configuration of those water molecules. Remember we're in a RIVER analogy.

  • @Kostly In quantum mechanics, by observing a particle, the scientist collapses its wave function, forcing the particle to assume some quantity that the scientist measures. It has been proven that this uncertainty isn't due to some unknown factor by Bell's theorem. So if we think of an observation or measurement as a conscious act, is it the injection of consciousness that influences a particle?

  • @asdfuogh I was reading an article on the latest thinking in Quantum mechanics & was cheered to hear that many of the finest minds working in the field , are now saying that there will never be a true understanding until they learn to factor Mans consciousness into the equations. "If matter is mighty, then thought is almighty"

  • @Psikonort I believe that consciousness is really just another type of energy. A very, very special type of energy that is unlikely to ever be fully understood.. We take it for granted, almost to the point of inconsequence. But, it is SO FREAKING HUGE! We see it, we know it's there and we can measure it, (sort of in the case of consciousness). But, ultimately, it is subjective and the subjective really isn't even considered by sciences until now. Everyone is catching on, though!! Love it

  • @Kostly your writing makes sense to me, keep it up, you must be a writer.

  • @asdfuogh I think the injection of consciousness simply experiences the event and that doesn't mean we understand the true nature of whatever we are experiencing. We only experience and that is all. Our truth is nearly only our truth, in the end. By our truth I mean YOUR truth. You have to be less concerned with these objective truths, I think. You have to be more concerned with the subjective truth if you want to experience true happiness and fulfilliment. If science is that place for you

  • @Kostly

Just what I was going to say,(kind of)

  • It's hard for me to understand her at first. My girlfriend angela didn't have a problem. Because I'm a guy? Why? But, now, I have no problem understanding because I've listened a few times and connected it with what I've read. LOL

  • sorry but I think the music is too loud, difficult to follow the text.

  • @MsGarryD The best is to listen without reading the text. it will really help you understand it when you read it.

  • @Kostly Why? Because when you only hear it you create an image, in some way, in your head. It can be any image. When you read it, that image flashes again. It creates a new experience. The more experience the better for the individual.

  • GlaDOS teaches meditation!^_^

  • I prefer the computer voices, ego-less

  • @Paracelsus23 :D

  • stop the light and see

  • Join my channel to post what YOU think about Tao, and discuss your ideals and thoughts.

  • @TheEternalOneness ...you are far more than you know yourself to be...and hopefully....you will always be a little less than you can be

  • No words can describe how beautiful the essence of the meaning is.

  • Wonderful, but too bad the voice of the narrator is so computer-generated. It irritates my ear-drums.

Nonetheless, thank you for your service!

    :)

  • thank you justbernard.

  • thanks for sharing ...

    peace and light

  • 3:05 - 3:44 is so essential to finding your inner peace

  • To buzzmund: Life is about moving forward, progressing, increasing understanding. If you're happy with your current girlfriend of 2 years I think you'll do both her and yourself AND your Brazilian ex a huge dis-service. I've found that, as John Lennon once said: "Why go back to kindergarten?" You may merely be in love with the memories of your ex? If you're happy with your current girl stick with that, if you're meant to go back to the ex, synchronicity will be apparent and the path created.

  • The Tao is awesome. My son called me last week all freaked out because he'd "lost" his wallet. It could be here. It could be there. He was in a panic. I told him: "Your wallet knows where it is. Everything is consciousness, get quiet and let it tell you where it is." He called back a short time later and reported that he'd found it. The more one tries to control the less control one has. The more one tries to manifest, the further away manifestation goes. So simple.

  • I like your comment, but what about their is something you want and you know their is a certain course of action you feel you need to take to get it, would you take no action? I have been having trouble about a decision that I can make, my ex wants to get back together, I am in a relationship with someone else now and I cant stop thinking about how things will be if I get back with my old girlfriend, I dont want to hurt the girl i am with now, shes so nice and we are together now almost 2 years

  • and I feel like I want to go back to my old girlfriend, she lives halfway around the world in Brazil, any advice would be very much appreciated, cause i have nobody to talk about with this. please reply with a private message if you have the time, thanks man.

  • A content man has no use for action.

  • The last 2 minutes are, for lack of the better term, AMAZING. It is me. IT is you. If you choose to accept it.

  • 2:56 - do you have the patience?

  • the part where she says stop thinking gets me, if you dont think, isnt that pretty much what the brain is for, and thinking assists us in coming to a solution on a matter. anyone have any views on this?

  • It basically means to have control of what you are thinking.

  • No it is about "letting go" of "control". Thus, you will be in full control. For example, the athlete "in the zone" can hardly describe the state of mind he is in when "in the zone". That is because he has relinquished the illusion of control and let's his nature guide his actions. Control is, some times, subjective and very illusory. It takes a very long time to master these trains of thought. Doing things you love will help you realize this state of mind/being.

  • Well said and well expressed :)

  • Thanks. Glad I could relate it for you.

  • When you overthink things the results often come out different from what you thought would be. Many times the greatest ideas come at moments where the "genius" is "spacing-out". An "Ah-hah" moment. I'm sure you've experienced something very similar. Lost your keys, you might try to retrace your steps to when you last had them, but, it's only when you stop thinking about it that you remember. Often times, the least action, is the most appropriate.

  • Thanks for your insights I found them interesting and helpfull.

  • this great text really does not need to be spolied with new age music, you cant hear the reading over it at times! Thanks for posting though!

  • This is so profound.

  • What?

  • Deep

  • Meta right?? :) :) :)

    RESPECT!!

  • If suicides could have heard this before they moved on, they wouldn't have felt so wrong for how they felt and saw the world. Thanks for the vid.

  • stop thinking and your problems will end....?

  • try it

  • yep lol isn't it great ?

  • Freeing your mind will assist in your problems fading away.

  • your thoughts lead to emotions , being your thoughts are uncontrolled means your emotions have there way with you . control your mind and control your emotions, problems will always arise but your response is always adjustable.

  • @bryandez86 ...no, but one will be less obsessed by the problems, thinking too much about the problems gives the problems power over the one. When one embraces the problems rather than be overwhelmed by them, resolution will come more easily.

  • @RavenDark7 Stare adversity in the face and study it. Let it consume you if you like, but, be mindful and you'll find success in your resolutions.

  • @Kostly ...I find your reply to be a non sequitur. I was asking when you declare "Te Ching" do you know when translated from Chinese into English you are declaring The Text of Virtue?

  • I listen to all three parts almost daily and it never fails to help me get back to essence and feel the depth within.

  • I just got blown away into itty bitty pieces omfg!!!!!!

  • Are you going to make a part 4?

  • u think tao te ching should be continued?

  • i think there is no need.

wisdom is everywhere, once your mind is opened, you need less guidance, for you can now see it everywhere.

  • These 3 parts are not the complete Tao Te Ching.

  • lol

  • The Flowing of the Tao:

Lao Tzu said, "If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading"

Thanks for a great video. Peace and Happiness.

  • interesting

  • but remember talk is cheap!! hardwork is everything!! the farmer who gets up at 6 am and works till 5 pm thats 10 times more tao than "youtube tao" :)) and he probably doesn`t know what the crap tao is!! as the saying: hard work (work) makes you free...the rest is pure entertainment.

  • Very beautiful.

  • please make more videos like this!!!

  • The Tao te Ching is the second most widely translated book in the world.

  • holy fuck taoism is beautiful

  • lol yes it is.

  • I got it from the Bodhi tree bookstore. Recording by Stephen Mitchell. It has all 81 chapters. Amazon has it too.

    ISBN: 0061232068

  • Thank You AlaskanSky I had no idea about the "Bodhi tree bookstore" until I read your comment here...I live right next to L.A. so im check it out thanks once again

  • Excellent work - this is correct

  • I have a copy of this on CD and I must say... I like the synthesized voice much more than a human voice.

  • where did you get the CD? Did you make it from the youtube videos or is it available some place else? Also I only see three videos with 10 chapters on each (so 30/81 chapters. Does your CD contain all 81? If so where did you get them?

  • how can i save this as a mp3 file to play in my car? I love tao

  • get an mp3 converter....free on the internets

  • please make more videos like this!!!!!!

  • What is this??? its really wow awesome ahh what is this!!!

  • This is what ever you make it.

  • Comment removed

  • first part was better, i mean audio quality and voice.

  • this is very cool, but please erase the last line " drinking from the great mother's breast"

  • i agree

  • agree

  • The original life in Chinese, "我獨異於人 而貴食母 " would mean something like "I am different from other men, I prize the sustenance of the mother"

So yes, drinking from breasts becomes a tad vulgar...

  • Why erase something that is actually in the book?

  • From what narcissistic insanity do you rationalize deleting a line from the Work of the Great Teacher? "The Master nurses like an infant on the unfolding mystery of the world." My translation, though no longer "vulgar," still doesn't imply all that was being said. You need to put down your preconceptions, and most of all lose your sensitivity to language. Free expression will free your soul. I hate to be rude but real arrogance and ignorance, intentional or not, radiates from your words.

  • Where can I find this stuff in text or with a voice that is more natural?

  • watch part three and click on info on the sidebar .

on the bottom there 's a link

  • good video...but ruined by bad audio quality, at least for me.

  • This is the best cure for depression.

    Just let go of it.

  • Yes, this is a great meditation.

  • they've got a hell good argument!

    Good Music to!

  • I like the part about breasts!

just kidding pretending to be Bevis Butthead

    lol...

  • where was the quote(s) from?

  • The TAO

  • Te Ching!

  • @Kostly ....Te Ching!....are you declaring "The Text of Virtue"?

  • i think the voice and music are good. but i think the inclusion of religious symbols in the images reduces it's quiality.

  • i agree

  • The sound of the voice is not clear, why?

  • It's computer generated. We are one with the divine network. The soul of the machine is one with humanity. One with the world.

  • This is really beautiful. btw. It gets down to the core of things,.

  • we shape clay into a POT! hehe but it is the EMptiness that holds. sorry it sounds funny in the electronic accent.. voice.

  • which translation is this? its much better than the one i bought

  • If you could give Lao Tsu a lightsaber he would be a jedi knight....lol!

  • no he'd be yoda ;)

  • Obi Wan-Kenobi is the most bad ass jedi out of the whole lot of them, yoda was not any more wise anyway. He spent all his time in deep transcendental meditation with the force yet he couldn't see how fishy chancellor Palpatine was....pffft. At least obi-wan was always too busy kicking ass to think about politics.

Yoda was just some lame little swamp creature with a hand up his ass.

    lmao at yoda 1000X! X-D

  • "claping" with joy.

  • I think he'd be the light saber!

  • Or maybe he'd be an AK-47 with a 90 round drum? If he'd be a lightsaber he'd be an AK I'm sure.

  • Light saber's are much more cooler, and way more cosmic. It's a lot lighter and more mobile than an AK-47.

  • Because Sage's don't compete,

    they are unbeatable.

  • And what this "shit" is talking about is being yourself. And Tao is older than God (of whatever religion you think god comes from).

  • you poor individual

  • Why? Why am I "poor"? Very curious choice of words. False, of course, but it is OK, since in your mind I am poor, while my life has much richness and life to it.

  • give it a rest

  • Because you know you have nothing to back up your assertion. How sad. Maybe you need to actually read the Tao Te Ching, and learn some insight from it.

  • God cannot fail. I believe that we as a people have failed by defining God in our very limiting ways and "giving" God human characteristics.

  • if god has a name then it is formed, then something had to form it, everything come from nothing, this is tao.

  • I am thirsty for the water that will truly quench me because I still haven't drank it.

  • Hey, simple question, I just stumbled on this and would like to know where it's from, thanks

    Peace

  • It is from an ancient book called the Tao te Ching by Lao Tsu.

  • Tnaks so much!

  • just say oww..thats my moto

  • I like the picture of the buddha and jesus together. We need to all come together as one and all things will be good.

    someday, or today, you decide?

  • before reading or hearing of the tao te ching i had begun to embody it, then it came to me like the blessing i had been searching for. my thanks to the universal unchanging absolute

  • La suprema bondad procede como el agua. El agua llega a todas las cosas y las favorece, porque no busca el poder.

El agua permanece en los lugares que otros desdeñan.

  • justbernard..... can you tell me who's translation this is? Thanks.

  • Is it Stephen Mitchell's? At least that sounds very much the same and is a really good one! I have read it dozens of times...

  • such simple concepts

why are they so easily overlooked?

  • As in everything else the simple is always ignored. Man takes the most difficult path to do the easy task.

  • @preyy ....why are these concepts overlooked? Struggle obscures vision while Wu Wei offers clarity.

  • A man that gives his fellow human food to eat is a good man,

To eat vegetables is a good sword,

To eat meat is human's likes and dislikes there is no good nor bad.

    By Andrew KH Tan

  • a man tat gives his fellow food to eat is a good man but how is he good without a pure heart ? to eat meat is human's likes and dislikes, there is neither good nor bad but if one is to indulge in them, desires will set in.. it will not be as good
