  • You seemed to be doing so well until that big rude planet got in your way o_0

  • Why no flare? Explanation anyone?

  • I'm not sure why he didn't flare. The bottom comment by firewingedangel explains the situation.

  • yes you are right,dam 96 video's.

    Green card landing,lol.

  • I think that might have been a morphine landing.

  • Shit,what happen to his face,must of hit at 35 mph,dam !

  • His face was ok. He broke his arm. If he would've let go of the control bar on impact he would've simply swung through the control frame and bounced his helmet off the center support post.

  • 78,000 views for the win !!

Did this guy ever see this video or want to see it ?

  • 78,000 views because people like to see someone crash and burn.

He did see this video and he also left a comment. His user name is mthead80.

  • Really,Fix me up with a glider buddy,I will crash anytime to get this many views, see carrots are good for 200 views, bla hahahAH!

  • You'd get more views if it was sam or pengies doing the crashing in the video.

  • Can the hand gliders take that kind of weight, over 400 pounds,12 extra for carrot supply !

LOL,duck was mad at ,me last night about the carrot shit !

    Pissed

    I love it !

  • There are tandem gliders that will carry the duck. The duck doesn't have a sense of humor when it comes to somone poking fun at him. He always deletes my comments and blocks me.

  • Well,He still can't go 2 - 3 mins with out food in the air,lol.

The duck can dish it out but he can't take it back,he blocks me to.

I think frevor stopped posting his videos and he got e hurt, hehehehe !

  • man, he should have pull her down as soon she deviated from course, this could have ended badly

  • He also should've paid attention to which way the wind was blowing in the l.z.. It did end badly,he broke his arm.

  • Too upright, too slow, too much tailwind, too stalled, too little experience.

Falcon for sale cheep, needs downtubes

  • Low miles flown only on sundays to go to church.

  • I guess he was caught in a minor 'downburst'

or air, else he may have had ample time

and altitude to flare. Was airspeed

    sufficient...?

  • His problem was he came in with a quartering tailwind.

  • That's gotta hurt!

  • He broke his arm.

  • Ouch!Oh man that sucks!

  • ouch

  • Yeah,that landing left a mark.

  • Was he on a cell phone?

  • No but he might as well have been on one.

  • hmmmm

  • The "as long as I walk away" landing method.

  • The only problem with that method is that he walked away with a broken arm.

  • lmao, did you not teach him to pull out of a dive? in this case from hitting the ground.

He is just compitly letting the glider fly itself, he has to control it atleast somewhat.

  • I was told he learned to fly at a coastal site and learned to land on pontoons. That was the first and only time I met the pilot. His other problem is he didn't pay attention to the wind direction. He came in with a quartering tail wind.I kicked up dust, pointed at the wind indicators and yelled at him to no avail.

  • lol, Im surprised he has not killed himself yet, is he getting better now?

  • I haven't seen him since the accident. I'm not sure if he's still flies.

  • i thought a hang glider is eperimental aircraft so u don't need a license

  • You don't need a license unless you want to fly ushpa sanctioned sites.

  • what im finding funny is the guy saying ' oh god, hes heading for trees AGAIN' ....AGAIN??? AGAIN?? lol i take it uve crashed b4. dude maybe u shud stay at home and watch tv insted

  • He landed in some willow bushes the day before.

  • Ouch! I did something similar but in no wind. Pulled in + stall recovery(from windshear)=big nose dive.spiral fracture left elbow, shattered right humerous, broken collar bone and 4 operations. Still trying to fly if a little nervous!!Wheels didn't do their job.Ground too rough.

  • OUCH! Glad to hear you survived and that you're back flying!

  • how long does it take to gain a hang gliding lisense i really wana get one

  • It depends on several factors:the weather and how quickly you learn the needed skills and the amount of time you spend learning the needed skils.

  • thanks man

  • Good luck and fly safe!

  • how to fly a glider into the ground...exhibit A.

  • and break one's arm. Do not try this at home.

  • hahahaha.

  • Wonder how that dirt tastes?

  • I'm willing to bet that it doesn't taste very good.

  • Ok I have had 4 lessons and what I see is this pilot failed to grown skim, the pilot did not push out to stop it from hitting earth. this is a question?

  • The pilot failed to look at the wind indicators.I tried to to point out the wind direction by kicking dust and by pointing to the wind indicators. The pliot landed in sinking air with a quartering tail wind and failed to flare.

  • Thats why you get wheels! lol

  • A set of nice big wheels probably would've saved this pilot from alot of pain.

  • Ouch, Eina-- if you are stupid -- you will suffer!

  • You're right! Flying isn't very forgiving of mistakes.

  • so down wind landing I read from firewingedangel, would anything else helped him in the last few seconds? I have 3 lessons loged and I am interesed in If I ever get comited to that what would be the best thing to do?Thanks

  • He should've tried to land the glider and he should've tried to flare the glider. When his body went to swing through the trapeze on impact he should've let go of the downtubes that would've prevented the broken arm.

  • it happens ,glad u dident get hurt

  • The pilot in the video broke his arm.

  • More speed on your approach dude and a nice "BIG" flare !

  • arkadaşım gecmiş olsun

  • I think the glider might need new downtubes...

  • Yes the glider ended up needing new downtubes.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAHAH

so worth the 14 second wait

  • I am glad to hear that the pilot is ok.

  • Huh?

  • "Heading for trees again"? =P I've got the top of trees between my legs a few times (and was always thinking how lucky I was not being a boy..). And I've seen some landings on top of them.

Did he only hurt his arm? Then I guess he should be well again now =)

  • This is a video of me. I'm not sure why I didn't flare harder. I remember there was a lot of turbulence and lift as I was preparing to land, but I think this video starts just after that. Thanks Andy for helping me out after that. Did you see a pair of sunglasses?

Anyway I would recommend that anyone have good insurance before trying this at home.

  • F**K man, I wouldn`t have let go either.

  • outch

  • oh ok. apologies to Miki. hope the guy wasn't hurt.

  • whoever the pilot is (Miki?), and yes i've seen his other takeoff crash, really needs to go back for more/better training before he kills himself.. where was his input to control the glider? what happened to his downwind/base/final approach? ..anyway, interesting vid and thanks for posting it... Miki might take up golf eh?

  • I thought the comment by firewingedangel was very informative.

  • Me to!

  • I agree...with the comment about first comment being the geekiest.

  • That was thee most geekiest comment i ever seen on YOUTUBE !

  • The pilot staring in this clip learned to fly towing up, and landing on water. This novice rated pilot crashed tail wind on a falcon 2 195 in a spacious, well marked LZ, (5400 MSL). Instead of swinging through the trapize, he attempted to stop his forward motion with his arms. Result, you guessed it, broken arm. An accident report has yet to be filed.
