Livermush? That's not on the menu at the Waffel House is it? I've never eaten anything good with liver in the title! I guess I'll just take your word for it. As far as "warsh/worsh" goes, you have to be pretty far back in the sticks to hear that deep of an accent. Thanks for watching!
I love me some waffle house. I'm not sure which state you're from, but I'm from NC and we have livermush here and no one's heard tell of it! My family says "warsh" for "wash." Haha(:
Im from the south too. i love ur videos. and i hate when people say mrs. like that too. gosh my fourth grade teacher said that and it drove me up the wall.
@Ffojt It's a burger place, like White Castle (if you even know what that is). They're these tiny burgers that come with onions on them. Krystal burgers are soooooo amazing.
Yep. Dead spot on the coke thing. And Ice tea. My mom used to ask if we wanted coke and would bring us of glass of our fav drink. I think I say Y'all too much for my own good.
Hi Wendy! I just moved to Alabama about 8 months ago from the midwest (IL) Everything you shared in this video is right on with what I have learned here. I could totally identify with the coke story and southerners going to Chicago. A person told a story about visiting his aunt there, he asked for a coke, so, that is what she got him. He was like, what's this? I wanted a Mountain Dew! I was wondering if you could do midwestern accents - Iowa/Illinois and northern - Wisconsin/Minnesota accents?
Well now, MrEVanOden, you certainly are "RILED UP." You need to just relax, honey and not get your panties in such a bunch. Just relax, sug...it'll be allright, but in the meantime, why don't I just dispose of you nasty little comment. Bless your heart and we'll be prayin' for ya!
hmm I dunno about the whole "Miss" thing. I'm 19 though so I guess I still use it. I would probably use it for a person older than me (even if they introduced themselves as their first name) as a sign of respect.
Well, when someone's angry we refer to it as "riled up." Is that what you mean? Riled up, madder than a wet hen, spittin' nails..."I was so mad I coulda spit nails!" Thanks for watching and thanks for the comments!
@wendytippens I made a mistake. It's the moment for when somebody's distraught. I think you say, 'dear Lord'. But how do you spell that phonetically? The Southern American accent has some kind of similarity to the Cornish accent in the way it sounds. Thanks for responding.
@loltion Okay, phonetically, it would be : (day-law), but you have to drag it out in a drawl: day-laaaaaw. You don't hear that one nearly as much as you do "Lord"...pronounced "Lo-werd"...one word, two syllables.
Loving your videos here in Tokyo. I went to school in East Tennessee a few dacades ago, so watching you speak is like taking a journey back in time. You've helped many lost memories revive in me and I feel like crying.
in the north people that r rednecks dont have rednecks they r hicks....i should know my whole family is considered rednceck and were from wisconsin and north dakota. were not as different as u just have different slang and annunciate different letters in the words. we call it waffle house to tho...i dont even know what u said, i never heard of that before.
Just so you know: I LOVE "Flight of the Conchords,"...they're from New Zealand, and I've started watching the show. My daughter watches the shows with me and we do lines from it. The other day she was doing a British accent, and I said, "That's a New Zealand" accent, not
British. She said, "Let me hear a British accent again." I did some and she tried again...with no success! So, she says to me, "Thanks a lot! Now that we've watched Flight of the Conchords, I've lost my British accent!"
I love this video. i am from wisconsin and will be moving to florida next year so i thought id look up how to pick up a bit of a southern accent. when i went down there for wisconsin we got a lot of shit lol. i really wish i had a southern accent but i dont want it to sound fake. i really learned a lot from this video. i didnt know a lot of this stuff. all i know is you guys dont have pick'n saves which is a grocery store up here. lol thanks again for the help!!!
Hey, I LOVE your Southern videos! It's making me miss home so much. Up here in Wyoming you have 2 ask for sweet tea, it doesn't just come that way; They all say soda or pop up here (ugh that bugs me!).
My mom always told me to use some "elbow grease" to get something done. Is that Southern too? :-D
If you think of any more please share them. It helps me to remember that I'm sanctified (set apart from those living so far North) up here & special as a true Texan.
lol, thanks for the good vid .I have heard people from the south call tomatoes "maters" .

I never thought this was some of this southern.
Waffle house is a southern word? LOL.
Then again, the farthest I've ever been north is Upper Caddo parish of Louisiana.
You remind me of my aunts, just about most of them.
I thought kin was universal. It's funny, everyone I know call themselves rednecks, country folks, all that stuff.
