god inxs were so dumb to pick him. i'm sorry to say that i was happy to see him fail and get kicked out of the band. he was such a fucking asshole on the show. marty was the way better all-around rocker, but just too 'modern rock' for inxs, i guess.
@sydandtaytum I wasn't a fan of JD's while the show was on the air. So I was rooting for Marty as well. That said, when it was all over with, I thought INXS made the right decision. JD definitely fit the band better than Marty. Besides, Marty was probably better off anyway. He got enough exposure from the show to help propel the Lovehammers.
The stagename for J.D. Fortune came from J.D. Salinger and the stagename Flame Fortune for the wannabe singer Michael Hutchence was trying to promote in the '80s. I named the band Paramore for the Paramour Mansion recording studios after I wrote Decode and hearing the Farris Bros of INXS talking about holding the RockStar show there when Hutch decided to bail on the band. I came up with the stagename P!nk for Bob Geldof in The Wall. I knew them & Hutch & Geldof were friends.
