  • Great video man nice job and nice tapco stock..

  • Was this generally the Russian SKS? And is there kits to where u can take a plain SKS and make it look like yours???

  • @1ove2Act just to but in here you can order th tapco stocks and any other furniture through several on line places like cheaper than dirt, midway, and so on. there are a lot of parts out there just search for them on line and you will find them. BTW war hero nice setup

  • Feel*

  • Hows that grip fee compared to old stock ( wood or black plastic)

  • thank ,you

  • can i get this if im 18

  • @ogkush702 yes

  • @BeneliM1014 I'm firing only Herter's in my SKS and find it to be clean, reliable and accurate.

  • do you find the stock leaf sights accurate?

  • @DeaDMiinDz Hell yeah, I shot out to 400 with spam can ammo and the stock sights. I trust them completely

  • good to have dummy rounds to practice reloading and videos :D

  • how is the cleaning rod staying in? on my sks when the bayonet is off or in between being "closed" and open" the cleaning rod comes out. does it screw into the new stock?

  • IMPORTANT, the hand guard on the tapco furniture has a picitanny rail on it, and your iron sights are greatly inhibited by it. You aim down the middle of the rail.... IT SUCKS. I ordered the steel hand guard cover to replace it ($10).

  • Did someone just compare an ar 15 to sks???? WTF

  • nice how much was all that??

  • @BeneliM1014 winchester fmj

  • beautiful gun

  • @TitanTony407 The SKS is closer to an AR than a Mosin Nagant. The SKS is a semi auto. The Mosin Nagant is a bolt action.

  • @StratoBlaster420 u kno what i mean bro...the overall purpose and design

  • @StratoBlaster420 i agree with you, but he would've been more accurate to say AK

  • @reh686

    still ruined it regardless

  • @Acroix707 You're cryin' in the rain pally boy, its a 100$ rifle

You some kid who cant afford one or what?

  • The thing goes over that thing right here by that. Tard. Should have spent the money on some sheets.

  • just bought an sks with the tapco kit for 250$canadian..got the receiver with scope mount for 20 bucks. after fucking around for a half hour filing the receiver to fit ive realized the scope mounted receivers are shit,,they jam your gun and theres small studs on the sides that when you tighten them up they scratch the finish on your gun..so i sighted the gun with scope just to find out its just as accuate at 150 yards with open sights as it is with the scope. fucking receiver pissed me off

  • your sks looks good though and its a good vid, so just do a little more research on your rifle and you'll be surprised. PS just picked mine up today for $200 with a folding stock on it. Fun mud gun.

  • ummm ...totally agree with you in the sense that " an ar-15 and a sks are basically the same"....Yes they are both battle rifles, but they couldnt be more apart. The sks is a long stroke gas piston system( if i am not mistaken, there are so many variants from china.) and the ar-15 is a direct impingement system. Basically ar is a clean only running, highly accurate, princess. The sks/ak is a stick in the mud never clean never maintain, lead hose. Thats why they came out with the ak-74

  • Rest in Peace Brian... This video inspired me to get theTapco stock a couple years ago, I just found out that he passed away... very sad

  • Eww why do people mess up this classic weapon

  • How's it shoot recoil wise do you have the buttpad and muzzle break?

  • HAHAHA putting rounds in the handle that made me laugh

  • will that stock fit on the firearm with the standard 10 rnd. magazine still fit with the gun?

  • @131JOHAN131 ya it does work with the 10 rnd attached box mag

  • That olive stock? Doesnt look black hope its not black

  • I have a '50 Russian wearing the same stock, Tapco Gas pistol 0and a mojo sight.

I still have the standard mag in it cause its a bit complex to put in a tapco mag, and even more so trying to unload a partially unloaded mag to remove it (thought about doing a bolt mod and remove the flanges so I can remove the mags easier but debating it still) The bayonet is useless, unless you stab in it the ground for a mono pod or wanna stick frogs with it...

  • I know the wood is heavy. I still like it better!

  • I've got a scope mount receiver cover on my SKS and it's not all that stable. It moves side-to-side a very small amount and I'm constantly losing zero. I'm sure it may be fine for a red dot scope but that's about all.

  • I think you should have kept the bayonet.

  • where do u get the scope mount for 20 bucks i want to know.

  • @sawdawg447 You can get these on E-bay easily, for between $19.99 to 39.99, depending on the type of rail system you want. That part he was unsure of is the receiver cover. Beware though, because the scope will be mounted on the receiver cover, which means there will be a violent action happening right below the scope/scope mount with the bolt-carrier and bolt slamming against the receiver cover. This can knock the scope off of zero when you sight it in. Hope this helps!

  • 1:02-Im gonna show u how to put it in...

  • how much do they go for

  • R.I.P Brian!

  • i got some penetration oil and put some on the pin and left it there all night.. then after i came home from school i had my dad hold the gas tube assembly on top of a vice anvil and i took 5 minutes to get it out...the other side of the gas tube (that i wasn't hitting) was on top of a socket for a socket wrench it was like 3/8 i think....bigger than the pin but small enough to rest the gas tube metal thing on....have fun! :D

  • just thought id let you just know....i just bought this stock online for my Yugo sks rifle and ive heard i lot of people saying that removing the gas tube pin on the hand-guard takes hours of using a punch and a hammer. not for me! :)

  • those bullets don't come in a small white box of 20 and say 122GR. FMJ Steel Case Non Corrosive Berdan Primed 7.62 x 39 mm MADE IN RUSSIA do they? yeah cause they suck! jammed my gun 4x last session. and no, it wasn't the clip. also i have the chinese model sks and tapco stock (in black) and love it.

  • @ububez iv put that same ammo through my sks, about 60 rounds, and haven't had a jam yet.maybe its your feeding lip on your chamber

  • An ar15 is not at all like an sks man

  • NO IT'S NOT TOO BAD BECAUSE U CAN USE IT IN UR AK & SKS !

  • Too bad it shoots the 7.62 stubby

  • on the frount of the magazine what does that plastic part do

  • i would rather keep the original mag and use a lot of stripper clips, i hear that you can use them on the tapco mags but the bolt slams home when you take it out, limiting you to ten rounds anyway, by the way, the music at the end sounds like porno

  • I bought a .22 rifle for my first gun just to now what its like to be a gun owner. Its a marlin. I love the little thing but i think its time to move up in life and i really like the sks. Iv been reading up on it and i like everything that im reading and seeing :) how much does one of these bad boys go for? I only got 300 bucks to my name for a new gun. Is that a practical price range? Someone please let me know.

  • Why do you keep changing your sks? I mean its your choice but with mine i like keeping it the same. Wood stock, bayonet, rubber butt plate (i dont know the actual name)

  • @mikef262 Why not? Im sure I dont need to preach you the uses of a pistol grip. Better accuracy, recoil handling.

Scope mounts? Obviously increases accuracy (choat side mount or long eye reflief, not the dust cover cheap crap that cant keep zero)

Forward vertical grip? Rapide fire, recoil, handling.

Its like saying why SWAT or soldiers around the world use the same modifications. Not everybody buying a SKS do it to hang it on the wall. They actually want to shoot the thing.

  • @mikef262 Also, might seem weird for the collection guys and old school authentics, but the SKS is actually a very cheap alternative to an AK47, mini-30 and AR-15. Modernizing a SKS will give you pretty much an AK-AR style weapon for a fraction of the cost.

And at those prices, around 160$ CAD for a russian SKS, why not just buy two, keep one original and another one to have fun with it.

  • @PatTheRiot

god damn pat, im jealous of the price of russians up in canada. I if you can find a russian in mint cond, it will run you at least 375 USD all the way up to 500 USD. Hell, even good shape chink sks rifles are around 300 bucks now, not as much a deal nowadays

  • @SonofLiberty1990 Some shops just got some original 'new' chinese surplus, matching numbers and never issued, they go for 99$ lol, if you buy a 1200 rounds crate they give you one free minus shipping. Pretty good deal for plinking. Better then a 22lr. Especially since surplus 7.62x39 sell for 200-235$ a crate. Something like 8 cents a round thats pack 10 times the fun of a double duce.

  • @SonofLiberty1990 I just bought a brand new Russian SKS up here at a local gun shop just outside Vancouver B.C. for $200 CDN. Odd how there cheaper in Canada than the U.S.

  • what is the recoil like with the new stock on it?

  • does anyone know how i might go about removing my bayonet from my sks? it makes the weapon so front heavy and doesn't allow me to add a much needed bi-pod.

  • @BluezBro604 I would keep it on, it keeps your barrel rise to a minimum. The weight is not a bad thing.

  • @BluezBro604 Bayonet lug bipods are not very good, unless you really just want to sit for a while and take single shots. If you want rapid fire you'd be better with a handguard bipod. Plus its never really a good idea to put pression on a heated barrel.

And to remove the bayo, all you need is a screw driver or bolt wrench on the russian ones, chinese ones I think you need to hammer the screw out a bit. But its very do-able and you can always put it back on.

  • I bought some mags and knives from buds. They are easy to deal with and you can actually talk to a real person++++++.

  • They're surprisingly comfortable stocks aren't they?

  • The AK-47 and SKS both shoot 7.62x39 not different rounds.

  • what ammo you using there? and nice gun and i recommened not put using the scope mounted gas cover.your scope gets jared around, and i found it really upsetting to set the scope every week

  • what ammo you using there? and nice gun

  • You should add a muzzle break.

  • are there any other storage compartments besides in the grip

  • can i use stripper clips with the tapco magazine?

  • WHAT YOU DO TO POOR RIFLE? YOU LOOK AT PERFECTLY FINE SIMANOV KARBIN AND SAY " OH, THIS NEED MORE STUPID SHIT ON IT."? WHAT IS PURPOSE OF PISTOL GRIP? NOW IF NEED TO HIPFIRE IN EMERGENCY YOUR HAND IS BENT IN AWKWARD POSITION.

  • You should have gotten the bayonet cut anyways. Although you might not use or want a bayonet, it's just that much more weight taken off of the rifle.

  • RIP

  • RIP Brian. I just read what happened. Say hello to my cousin. She was around your age.

    Chii

  • u could put some weed and a pipe in that pistol grip

  • this damn youtube is really pissing me off, I'll wait 5 mins for a video to load and then start to play and as soon as I maximize the screen it will syop, unload and i'll have to wait all over for it to load again, quit fucking with the set-up youtube!

  • Is the SKS more of a rilfe style AK I.E more accurate like a AR-15? looking at a AK but I'M turned off by how accurate it is. Someone told me the SKS is a AK AR-15 is this true?

  • @IrishPuglover3565 SKSs accuracy falls between the Armalite model 15 and the horrid AK47s accuracy. With the factory stock, you'll get 3" at 100yds, (3moa) With a yugo or russian one, but in a new stock that's tighter, and with better sights, you'll start getting 2" groups if you do it right. Send me a PM for instructions and such. The whole thing costs less than an AR15 or AK47 as well in the end, not counting extra mags and accessories.

  • @Wiseman501 Whats this crap I hear that you have to worry about it being up to code with the ATF if you add a stock or any thing else? Sounds like it may just be easier in the long run to go with a AK.

  • @IrishPuglover3565 Well, you have to have under ten "bad components" from another country. Usually, that takes replacing about six parts in total with US parts. The Tapco stock counts for three, the tapco detachable mag counts as three, and you can get like, a receiver cover scope mount, or a new gas piston to go way into the safe zone (which is nice to have anyway). All of these things can be done for about the price of getting an AK and it'll wind up being much nicer, IMHO.

  • @Wiseman501 Forgive me for asking but how do they even get imported into the US if they are not up to ATF code? How would someone know they would need to place all of this? Does the dealer or online dealer tell them all this? Do you have to replace AK parts or are they all up to code?

  • @IrishPuglover3565 Well, when you start to order parts that replace originals on the SKS or AK47, you will be told at some point what's up, usually on the item's description. As for how they got into the country, they are only legal through a sneaky loophole as C&R (Curio and Relics) because they're basically antiques. They are legal this way until you change it, where the law considers that you "built" a new repeating gun with foreign parts. You're still protected by C&R law until then.

  • @IrishPuglover3565 What you are talking about is the 922r Compliance. Anything that is American made counts as compliance. So buying american made stocks (like this Tapco stock), magazines, bolts, and gas pistons all counts towards achieving compliance. Yes there are some weird ass laws lately with compliance in general.

  • The gas tube mount is a joke IMO, TAPCO should've fitted the AK side scope rail into their stock.. That's actually a project I'm working on.

  • Your is a Chinese SKS I saw your (STOCK) 1 and I can tell so easy!

  • AR-15?? Can not hunt or do anythings but target shooting in the USA!

    .223 is a handicap rounds

  • @CharlieDoan I agree. I just bought an SKS and accurized it because I like the punch of the 7.62x39. You can actually get better groups and hunting power with a .311 size bullet reload too, instead of mil-surp .308 size that is in the surplus ammo.

  • Where is the Bayonet? Where is the cleaning rod?

I like to keep original, change stock and not missing anything!

  • @CharlieDoan You can keep the bayonet, Tapco offers a stock with a bayonet slot and rod hole. :] Also, you can just cut the bayonet down if you want a vertical foregrip. It still has about 5" of barrel clearance after that e.g. plenty. If you don't have a yugo, more like 7" after cutting the bayonet down.

  • Cool Vid

  • can you take that stock and grip off and replace them with AK-47 furniture?

  • @megadeth22885 No. Slightly different sized carbines. You can still get AK47 syle things, but no actual AK furniture will fit.

  • @Wiseman501 well that pistol grip looks like the AK-47 style pistol grips, in fact, looks exactly like the SAW grip i put on my AK when i had it

  • @megadeth22885 Like I said. AK47 "Style." Looks and fitting are unfortunately two different things. I don't believe that they are interchangeable. You may be able to jury rig the grip onto an SKS stock, but I don't see why you would want to, when you're buying the other stock anyway for pistol gripping; it already has one. AK furniture and SKS furniture are different shapes and sizes apart from standard features like the adjustable buttstock and grip, but they are already cast into the stock.

  • how did the front hand guard go on? did u have to tap out the pin on the gas tube?

  • how did the front handguard go on? did u have to tap out the pin on the gas tube?

  • can you use the tapco stock with the original ten round magazine?

  • @ian751 Yes.

  • can you use the Tapco stock with the original ten round magazine ?

  • I want to buy a SKS !

I have two options Chinese Norinco at 199$

    or

    The Russian one for 259$

is there a difference in quality ?

    thanks

  • You can put the magazine in with the bolt back, then hold the bolt and push the top of the magazine in (follower). that will allow you to have the mag in and bolt forward.

  • hi, is this chinese , yugo, or russian? thanks

  • I like the color. How did you replace the furniture on the gas tube? You can modify bolt for the mag so the bolt doesn't need to be open to insert the magazine,

  • I like the color. How did you replace the furniture on the gas tube?

  • @ITSMETHEFLASH he died i doubt he'll reply. rip

  • @JameR242 he did what !!!???? great gun btw RIP

  • My clip holds 38

  • If you're not going to use the bayonet lug for a bayonet there are some decent bipods that attach to the lug instead.

  • im thinking of puting a t6 on my bushmaster and get rid of that new york state complaint shit

  • Norinco sks?

  • that thing for the scope is called a detachable rail dont worry i had to look it up haha

  • can the tapco mags work in a russian sks?

  • hey i just bought the stock for my gun and i am stuck on the gas tube step. what do you recommend to get the pin out of the gas tube.

  • im looking at getting a similar tapco stock but the one im looking at had the scope rail on top like yours and another rail for a verticle grip on the underside. did the new stock make the gun any shorter if the butt was all the way in or is it about the same?

  • 4:50 "...just a different design and, uhh caliber" sorry bro but doesn't break it down to pretty much cover any other gun?

  • cool!

  • Im sure youve shot it by now,how comforitable is that butt on the shoulder,Im going to order one this weekend, the piece you were talking about getting is what I call the reciever cover,I bought one and hated it,it was advertised as having a peep site so you could use the scope or irion sites, but it sucked and you could really only use the scope which is no good for closer shots, say a copperhead at 20ft. and the one I got required some file work to make it fit, maybe theve gotten better though.

  • haha it looks like an waterpistol

  • u can use the stock clip that comes with the gun right?

  • i knew i missed that thanks for the correction

  • it is called upper receiver and no the ar is very different

  • @BRUCELEONIDAS Actually it's the receiver cover. But you're absolutely right, it is nothing like an AR15.

  • it is called upper reciver

  • looks real nice bro. I like the stock in that color. Is that a norinco? I just ordered a T6 for mine.

  • The gun is real clean but i gotta say the sheets on the bed are pretty damn awesome!!

  • @biga8976 oh good "heavens"! LMAO!!

  • Has that mag given you any problems? I hear the 30 rounder does.

  • im sure everyone has already ragged ya about trying to put a mag in with bolt closed so i wont do that too....lol...wait didnt i just do that?...lol...nah man cool vid.

  • dude the piece that you dont know is called the dust cover not to be mean or anything but im going to get a tapco stock thats odg

  • You wouldn't happen to know if these mags would work in a Yugo, would you? Yours looks to me(correct me if I'm wrong) like either a Norinco, or a Russian, and there may be some differences (I don't know of any, other than bayonet, and grenade launcher). I would probably be buying a tapco stock also, I just want to know if I should bother with the Tapcos, because more rounds is ALWAYS a nice thing.

  • what was the site called??

  • not sure if anyone said this, but the thing in the bottom of the grip is probly for the cleaning kit

  • @H00T94 thats what I would use it for. maybe some padding to keep the clanging noise down.

  • This kid WAS a hero with a talent beyond belief here. These vids are so cool.... His family will forever be proud of him....God Bless !!

  • RIP man

    realy sad what happend.. :(

  • RIP, man. I can't believe this happened... would gotten to know you better, brother....

  • RIP Brian, although I've never known you, you seemed like a very nice kids. My prayer and thoughts go out to the family. Please stay strong.

  • R.I.P... i was not subed to him but i saw cutlerylovers vid and this is fucking Horrible..

  • WOW this guy is dead and nobody knows his password to his account... People will waiting for replies.

  • do u know if haven a sks with paper work in the stock sayin some1 hade it sence 1993 and the gun was made in the 60-70's cuz it has a tringel with 26 makes it a pre ban b4 1994 an where can i find a 5 round tapco mag i have looked alot an can only find 10 my state says no on sks an ar's 4 more then 10 rounds but if its a pre ban id think 20 or 30 b ok ?

  • Tapco doesn't make 5 round magazines. As far as I know, there are no laws that say you can't have a 10 round magazine.

  • so being my gun was made b4 94 for sure dose this make it a preban ?

  • @curtispa Oh sorry, I was thinking of something else. That would make it a preban, yes.

  • In Canada you have to have your magazines lanced to 5rds

  • @HCDDWarhero canada is 5 round mag. only he could be thinking there

  • @HCDDWarhero Yes I have seen them online, I think it was Davids collectables.

  • @HCDDWarhero he could be in canada :P like me....

  • @curtispa Laws have change since the so called assult weapon ban was in effect, even then Im sure you could have high cap mags. but it had to be a fixed clip, meaning you couldnt take it out without removing the trigger assem. therefor you had to load with stripper clips, which in my opinion is easier and faster than hand loading.

  • @pidner ya i have found out that a sks wasnt even on the list cuz it didnt come with high cap mags or a pistol grip is what i was told an have read up so still u can only have10 rd in ny becuz they stoped maken them in 70 or just i belive its been a lil while sence i read on them again an im tired so the 70's might b wrong

  • @curtispa Im sure they were, the reason I say,is because the one I bought had the bayonet lug cut off, thats the only way they could legally sell them, and when I bought my first high cap mag.through mail order,I could only get a fixed clip, the only way I could have gotten a detatchable clip would have been a gunshow, but now anything goes.

  • do the vid

  • How do you lock the bolt to the rear without the magazine installed?

  • @ROTTENTHEHUN + You have to open the bolt and then manually push the little peice on the lower receiver up.

  • i dont understand what you meant when you said your sks was like an AR? did you just mean the ATI stock?

  • @daonejorge I was just saying it's more "tactically" now.

  • ahh ok. looks good. im considering getting a SKS and converting it to a bulpub setup

  • @daonejorge Bulpub? What's that? I've never heard of that before.

  • wow that was a terrible typo, what i meant was bullpup

  • @daonejorge Oh lol.

  • HCDDWarhero: Bulpub is a gun setup where the action of the gun (the part that moves) is located behind the trigger insted of behind it.... you tuve SKS bulpub convertion

  • @melear22 I know what bullpup is. But the first time he typed it, he typed it wrong, so I didn't know what he ment.
