Are you daft? Whales are endangered. The Japanese kind of specialise in eating endangered animals, usually the ones which keep everything in the ocean in order, ex. Bluefin Tuna, whales, sharks, etc. There's a world of difference between eating a scavenger/herbivore, like a cow, pig or chicken, and top predators or anything else that eats enough to make a difference.
