This smells like RSP. Anyways the quality of service depends on what state you are. For example some states have high standards for their Guardsmen, as in PT everyday in the morning. Others just dont care at all.

@23960Bossman The National Guard is a military branch run mainly by the State governments. We train to the same levels as the full time military, we go through basic and advanced training the same as the full time military. We drill, aka 'weekend' training, once a month and then annual training for 2 weeks often during the summer. All our standards for training are the same as the full time army but with less time to do so. You have to be a self motivated person because of that.
So, the idea is, to be gentle on them and then they will be "tough enough" for Army bootcamp? Turn this up ten notches and they might actually start their baking classes. For the love of God...I would take 20 Marines for every one of these turds. Semper Fi.
Although this is a big downside the plus side is you can finish school while serving your country (depends on what kind of war it is.) and "sometimes" get an opportunity to do something badass overseas (not what i did). Im in the guard, served in iraq (which was gay). Im proud to have served WITH the men in my unit. But the gaurd is typically undisciplined compared to active duty because you dont live on post and dont live in the active environment so you (like myself) lose miltary bearing due to living as a CIVILIAN.
the last month of my second deployment we were given a platoon of National Guard "Soldiers" to pull guard while we went on missions, did patrols, and convoys(the real soldier stuff). These guys were so fucked up we had to pull them out of the towers in two days. One guy would forget to bring his weapon to guard, one would be playing his PSP, the other wouldnt wear any gear at all and sleep in the tower. We put all these NG "soldiers" on permanent KP because thats all they were good for.

What you are watching in this viedo is a program called RSP (Recruit Sustainment Program) It was developed to teach new recruits the baisics of the Army before sending them to Baisic Training, so as you see they are not being to hard on them. Take this and crank it up ten notches, and youll get what true Baisic Training is.
It completely depends on your mos. Some jobs are more likely to get deployed than others but there is always that possiblity. They deal mostly with natural disasters and other stuff here in the united states

After getting out of the Real Army, i was called back a year later along with 30,000 other soldiers and placed with National Guard units that way they would have a few competent people to keep them alive. Be lucky. At our RSP all we get to do is D&C, PT, and class. Not once since ive been in have we really done something fun. or training related. I was in ROTC so i know all of my Army Information like my gen. orders, and my values and how to D&C
Our RSP isnt anything like what they are doing, it shows tem doing PT all day. We learn other stuff like grenade throwing setting up explosives, and that sort (along with daily PT)....damn those jump suites get hot as hell to.
The guard is 2,3,4,6,8; reservist duty, with a 1 year deployment per 3-4 years(minimum) all years past what you sign for, up to 8 years is in active reserve, or reserve if stop on the no stop loss. National Guard are the nasty girls, they're as important as any other branch, they all feed from each other.
I can already tell you are an idiot. For one, its not only six years, you can pick between 2 4 or 6. Also, the NG does the same training and boot camp active ARMY does. There are a lot more benefitting programs and best part of all, you get to stay in your hometown. You dont know shit. Citizen Soldiers, Hooah!

The National Guard is a selective reserve component of the U.S Army how is that not "actual military" Unlike the Standard U.S Army reserve, National guard allows you to have a Combat MOS. The National Guard is more then what it was 20 years ago, it is no longer a "cold war reserve" National Guard you can actually go full time, its not only 1 weekend a month. More guardsmen are deployed overseas then any other branch right now, Not real enough for you? Hooah!

The NG is the sorriest excuse for a military force i have ever seen in my life. @23960Bossman The National Guard is a military branch run mainly by the State governments. We train to the same levels as the full time military, we go through basic and advanced training the same as the full time military. We drill, aka 'weekend' training, once a month and then annual training for 2 weeks often during the summer. All our standards for training are the same as the full time army but with less time to do so. You have to be a self motivated person because of that.

Although this is a big downside the plus side is you can finish school while serving your country (depends on what kind of war it is.) and "sometimes" get an opportunity to do something badass overseas (not what i did). To the people who dis on the national guard... eh i dont blame you because alot of retards think there hot shots when there really poges (especially in the guard) but please, if you havent served, shove it up your ass.

Im in the guard, served in iraq (which was gay). Im proud to have served WITH the men in my unit. But the gaurd is typically undisciplined compared to active duty because you dont live on post and dont live in the active environment so you (like myself) lose miltary bearing due to living as a CIVILIAN.

the last month of my second deployment we were given a platoon of National Guard "Soldiers" to pull guard while we went on missions, did patrols, and convoys(the real soldier stuff). These guys were so fucked up we had to pull them out of the towers in two days. One guy would forget to bring his weapon to guard, one would be playing his PSP, the other wouldnt wear any gear at all and sleep in the tower. We put all these NG "soldiers" on permanent KP because thats all they were good for.

But that is the only training they seem to get. And don't tell me this same basic training crap. active duty soldiers train everyday. Basic is just that basic. You should get more advanced training. But the NG thinks after basic they are ODA and no longer need to train.

What you are watching in this viedo is a program called RSP (Recruit Sustainment Program) It was developed to teach new recruits the baisics of the Army before sending them to Baisic Training, so as you see they are not being to hard on them. Take this and crank it up ten notches, and youll get what true Baisic Training is.

For those who dont know this isnt army basic it appears to be RSP which is what the guard dose to prep recruits for basic. Then you goto BCT then AIT just like everyone who joined the army they do it right along side each other. The only difference active get stationed and guard comes home and can go eirther part time or full.

They, and I, see the people that we serve every single day and live with the knowledge that we can be called away at any time to serve either our own state or our country. We live with that fact and accept it. We work hard on our drills to complete our missions and to become proficient at our jobs.

After getting out of the Real Army, i was called back a year later along with 30,000 other soldiers and placed with National Guard units that way they would have a few competent people to keep them alive. Be lucky. At our RSP all we get to do is D&C, PT, and class. Not once since ive been in have we really done something fun. or training related. I was in ROTC so i know all of my Army Information like my gen. orders, and my values and how to D&C

Our RSP isnt anything like what they are doing, it shows tem doing PT all day. We learn other stuff like grenade throwing setting up explosives, and that sort (along with daily PT)....damn those jump suites get hot as hell to.

The guard is 2,3,4,6,8; reservist duty, with a 1 year deployment per 3-4 years(minimum) all years past what you sign for, up to 8 years is in active reserve, or reserve if stop on the no stop loss. National Guard are the nasty girls, they're as important as any other branch, they all feed from each other.
