  • that must be a nathan-p5

  • You caught a NS! Guess your comment contridicted yourself there, bud.

  • I've heard at least one ex-CR SD70 with a Nathan P5 (yes, I'm aware that the audio doesn't match). I have some vintage PC videos at home with added sound effects, and occasionally an all EMD consist would sound like a GE! That's what this reminded me of. The audio is definitely an old-school GE.

  • I believe it's a dash 8 because of the way the engine sounds. Dash 9s have a very unique sound to them that was slightly different from the dash 8 series. I've heard many dash 9s and they seem to have a lower harmonic whooping sound than the dash 8 series. This particular locomotive has a faster whooping sound to it. Dash 9s have slower longer whooshes, and the dash 8 have faster shorter whooshes, but its the same whooshes sound the make.

  • the exconrail unit is a EMD SD70 and the horn is a Nathan New cast P5

  • You guys didn't read my info bar. This train does not go with this audio. An EMDSD70 shouldn't have a Nathan P5 horn on it. I know what these locomotives are. I was wondering if some one can identify the locomotive in the audio not the video!

  • alot of Sd70s have em on there now, cause NS is going cheap and wont put K5LAs back on

  • this locomotive in question is not a SD70 so that's a mute point. We still don't know what the actual the locomotive is, but I guarantee you it's a conrail dash 8-40C

  • I know that the horn on this train is my favorite horn, the Nathan P5NC. The lead loco is an ex-CR SD70 and the 2nd loco is either a Dash 9-40C (C40-9) or a Dash 8-40C (C40-8).

  • I have an awesome vide of a footchase, but somehow the audio got corrupted. I'm mad as hell about it. It had freaking great sound too!

  • Nathan airchime NC P5.

  • NAthan/AirChime P5(New Cast) The Leslie RS3Lr has been taking off in-favor of this P5NC.

  • P5. Sounds excellent.

  • Ok, that's what I thought. What kind of engine do you think it is?

  • Hmm, probably could be a Dash 9-40C or a Dash 8-40C. I could be wrong though :/

  • Dash 9-40C? with a Nathan P5? I thought they had K5LA? I suspect it's a dash 8-40c

  • A good amount of Dash 9-40Cs have P5s. But there are some with K5LAs too.

  • Thats a ex-CR SD70 and a NS D9-40C

  • thats a P5

  • amazing video!

  • Could be a untuned K3LA or K5LA.

  • .............no, P5

  • Any ideas?
