@88riddlemethis If you understood the overall psychology of how a match should be worked then you may understand why that is. Randy and Ricky were the class of this era. Wrestlers now(if you can call them that.) are a bunch of spot monkeys.
not only did Hogan defend it every time he was challenged, but he also defended it every time the script told him to, it wasn't Hogan's call when to defend the title, did you think before posting that? Not to mention, Hogan whooped Mach in Wrestlemania

Intercontinental Championship matches were the best in the 80s, because wussy Hogan hardly ever defended the heavyweight belt back then, 2-3 times per year tops
I hate that WWE edits it too. I noticed it on DVD recently because I KNEW he always came in to Alan Parson's Project - Sirius. I guess there were trademark issues, but I swear every pro basketball team uses it!!
Whoever had NESN on cable in Massachusetts or a satelitte was very fortunate to see this. I was in High School when this was broadcast, and I would have stayed up to see all the matches.
This match has the big fight feel of a boxing match

@TheShmonster Macho Man was 100 times the worker Hogan ever thought about being, and this is coming from a Hulk Hogan fan.

someone made an idiot comment below ... Hulk Hogan defended the WWF Title about 100 times a year in the 80's ... do your homework before you post.

When's the last time you've been that excited watching an Intercontinental Championship match? It's OK, I'll wait.
