  • Well you would think that the "killing claw" on the raptors foot would be held up to avoid it from being damaged or from becoming dull. Other than that awesome work!

  • is it a real species?

  • @Orcaluv26 No. Spielberg doesn't have a dinosaur named after him.

  • Some scientists consider Deinonychus to be in the same subfamily as Velociraptor: Velociraptoridae. Others have them in separate subfamilies. The movie was "half-right." In the novel version, Grant mentioned this belief and called Deinonychus "Velociraptor." The actual species, V. mongoliensis, was about the size and weight of a Great Dane.

  • honestly i think the only reason it was called velociraptor in the movies was because its much more of an intimidating name too use than deinonychous(however the hell you spell it) same with the size, velociraptor in reality is pretty small, so not very intimidating so they used a different sized raptor.

  • @Aknight292 I think they called it velociraptor in the movie casue thats whats in the book lol. But yeah velociraptor was quite small, then again size isnt everything, the main idea is that velociraptor is smart and quick.

  • @Camronas and feathered =/

  • is it a velociraptor .? ;D

  • @TikiyazZStory Actually the raptors used in Jurassic Park, though portrayed to be velociraptors, in reality, are too big to be such. They're most likely a deinonychus or even a utahraptor. We know more about deinonychosaurs now than when they made the movie so there's debate. But according to the movie it's a velociraptor, though they're mainly referred to as just JP raptors, now.

  • @BlueWolf100996 when jurassic park was made, deinonychus was considered a type of velociraptor

  • i think raptors today look like feathered versions of wyverns, they're no longer dinosaurs, not even birds i've been looking at some modern raptor images ad how close they make them look in compiration with birds, arm position and everything else then i find myself goin after a wyvern in MH and the resemblance is there...

  • great but it needs to be a tad faster but great work 5/5

  • cool, hope u don't mind if i use this video 4 reference wen making my own raptor walk cycle. :) good job 5*

  • Kanfor.....The truth is, no one knows for sure if the Raptors had feathers or not, as for the piano hands, we'll have to guess, we just putt he bones together the way we THINK it goes together, unless you were alive back then to make an accurate judgement, there will always be different versions of our Early reptiles!

  • @GoldenSquad Actually, there is a lot of evidence to support that "raptors" had feathers, including feathers on their closest kin (Microraptor, etc) and quill knobs on the forearms of Velociraptor. As for their hands, many times fossiles will be found articulated, that is, found in the same position as they were when the animal dies. Failing that, one knowledgeable in anatomy can often tell how it goes together by examining the joints and surfaces.

  • @Velox415 dinosaurs had nothing to do with birds raptors aren't dinosaurs they are giant carnivorous birds

  • @supermariobubba yeah and I'm Santa

  • Great animations! It's movement looks awesome. Maby you hadve some time to check out my videos and say what you think? :)

  • Looks fine to me o_o raptors look dorky if they have feathers.

  • actually I have no idea why they do that

  • why does the head bob, just to make it look more like a bird per the book, or was it to help with balance?

  • yeah to make it more like a bird

remember there was evidence that birds evolved from dinosaurs

  • but is there evidence they bobbed their head?

  • no

    no one knows that yet

but supposing dinosaurs are related to birds they probably did bob their heads, cause some dinosaurs had feather impressions on them.

  • why do birds do that anyway? Is it because of their skeletal structure?

  • yeah

  • I heard that some birds , such as pigeons do it to be able to see more depth, especially if they have the eyes on the sides of the head. Their brain can create a better 3 dimensional image when they keep moving their head. I think a raptor would stop bobbing it's head while running, just like ostriches.

  • They are actually very positive allot of different dinosaurs, especially the raptor came from birds. Not only the feathers but also the bones. Raptors have the same bone layout as birds. They have even found that bird embryos actually have a long tail and teeth.

  • thanks but the walk a little bit faster this will help me on making a dinosaur clip

  • good attempt buddy, but too slow a walk... fix the timing issues!

  • Actually the JP raptor is incorrect, they based it on Deinonychus, b/c they thought the real raptor look wasn't scary enough.

  • it looks really gd, i think the muscles in the dino look amazing, however there is a part in the animating where the transition is not smooth, but if that gets fixed it will look amazing!

  • Did that use a muscle rig?

  • how did you put the dinos into the program?

  • WHOW! you made that in animation master????? Was it hard to model the Dino?

  • wonderful skinning and nice walk cycle

  • i'm just mezmerized by the way that the muscles in the legs move... i remember reading that they didn't even do that in the first jp & ILM was talking about that being the big advancement in 2 i think it was

  • One of the reasons I think some of the best cgi was jp 1 and 2. I'm not too into cgi, i like physical fx more.

  • Seems like the start and the end frames do not match, there is a slight jump between two cycles. Other than that, very nice work :)

  • well i found a little problem in the animation, but when the dino walk, the bone in the tail need to be wag the tail horizontaly, by the type of bonehip that all this large tailed lizard have, check also the some type of bird when it walk (sample the doves) how muve the tail, you can take ideas about, but the animation is really cool.

  • How would you rate animation master in terms of animating things like this? Does it take a lot more time and effort than it would to model, animate, etc. in A:M compared to programs like 3ds Max and Maya?

  • ill say 3ds max and maya are better iown 3dsmax and i think its better

  • did you make the model or does it come with animation master?

  • Very good job there dude. 5 stars from me. :o)

  • Hey, I too use animation:master and have also made a raptor. Your walk cycle is very nice, although the feet are a bit slow to move forward; do you have any tips for animating?

  • Raptormimus spielbergi. *chuckle*

  • cool where did u get the program?

  • go to google and search "hash animation master"

  • Cool! I love Raptors :D

  • Can you download that program??

  • That is awesome.

  • It looks funny.
