I think it's co op mode, you can do it on single or multiplayer. I think you have to unlock the ability to have more than one, I forget.

umm...on agect u get 1 ally, beat on agent, you get 2 on allies, beat in special and you get 3 allies and beat on perfect and you get 4...at least i think how that works
