Yep IS 2010 will disable AV programs, if the AV is so weak it can get by. AVG 9 Free is just as bad at letting this stuff through, which is why I went to Avast 5 free. I did try Panda Cloud, Avira and neither seemed worth a crap as you have found.

i agree.+ avast makes computer slower..like mine it has 7 processes running in my background.now that avira has heuristic scan module,it would be ok!though it has sometimes trouble with false positive.

the reason why avast 5 is better than avira is because avast 5 has a web shield integrated in its free version.. avira(free version) doesn't have a web guard, only the paid versions do(premium, and premium S.S.)..
