  • well got out there, Ged!

  • Buttons, so many found. The answer is in history of buttons. Seems that a nasty man from France named Napoleon did this blockade thing that prevented England from importing the good silk and linen threads. So the English spun their own thread out of local materials. These materials were no very good so people lost alot of buttons.

  • @gyrene95

  • Nice buttons and hunt Ged, it seems that the birds were a little too quick to build nests yesterday, it gets colder before it becomes spring. I can not get out and search the ground is frozen and they say we get minus 15 degrees C so it may take a little before spring. GL & HH

  • Hi Ged

The STAND : COLOUR on the back of the gilt button, denotes a date of some buttons to around circa 1700 - 1900, similar buttons are are marked ORANGE GILT : STAND: COLOUR
