@Vantasticness are you sure? ummm he got the achiement for tank beats everything and it is possible to kill the turrents on the outside. you just got to hit it in the back of the gun
in tip of the spear, you can actually keep the rocket hog from the beginning for the majority of the level until you get to the falcon, which is great because it can be used to take down those huge AA guns, and it has a checkpoint tied to it, so you can save your progress just be hopping in and out of the hog, makes the level, VERY easy! lol
hahahaha i really like this mission because in the end when you had to defend, you have all the weapons u need and u just enjoy it when u keep killin them !
I used the scorpion for about half the level, on legendary, and i didn't get it i left the scorpion in the area with the anti-air cannons and finished off the next area on foot. the doors opened and i didn't get it so I thing you do have to use the tank through the whole area, because i got it on my second try using the tank the whole time.
@RickyVincent drive the tank to right outside the combat area, and get out and fight on foot, and then when your ready to move, get in the tank and move to the next area and repeat, you should be able to get it then
@NextGenTactics I've completed the mission on Legendary without touching the scorpion and sadly did not receive the achievement. However, the game can be a little buggy with achievements so there might be a small possibility you can.

When you get to the jackyls right after you get out of the tank, on the first floor is a sword with 100 in it. I discovered it while I was looking for additional ammo.
fair play mate, great walkthrough. I did this mission a while ago on legendary, never set foot in the tank as thought maybe u had 2 do it without the tank taking any damage at all (silly me). I didnt get the acheivement, but it was on 2-player, that may be why it didnt work.

It really helps especially on Legendary to turn scoring on; then you'll see the score pop up as soon as you kill the enemy and won't waste ammo on a dead body that's positioned so it looks alive. Great video, helped a lot.

OMG i took the tank and right at 3:55 i blew up, so i spawned near my friend and we had to clear that area and everything after it without the tank and it was a giant pain...

I have tried to leave it there to get the achievement, and it didn't work. Also in the beginning of the level snipe the grunts and the turret's operator, and sprint to the building before another grunt mans the turret. But nice job. :)
I found a couple of pretty cool ways to get through a lot of levels faster. Like on nightfall you can skip the part where you help the civilians and on exodus on the bridge part you can just use you jet pack to fly on top of it. Oh and you can kill the covy anti aircraft guns from a distance with wraith, rev, tank, ect =)
You might be leaving the scoring off for the sake of the walkthrough; it can be a little obtrusive on the HUD and with restarting the scoring would jump around. I, however, suggest having scoring turned on, not only for the credits, but because it makes it a lot easier to tell if you did kill the guy. Thanks a bunch for the walkthroughs though! between letting me know where ammo is, though not as much on this one, and kind of showing what direction is best, you've saved me some time! happy gamin
I did get to the end of this mission without using the tank at all and didnt get the achievement, but I Don't think I was on legendary, I think I was clearing it on Heroic at the time...not sure. I'm about to do this mission and want the achievement, But I like have mental issues with vehicle protection :P so like, does any1 know if you do get the achievement?

@Jmurdock710 I beat the game on legendary. At the beginning, there are no fuel rod cannon grunts, and just generally there are fewer enemies. But really, I don't care now that I actually beat it.
@Schutte2717 it had to have been on legendary because the achievement he got you can only get on legendary. And when i played on legendary there WAS fuel rod grunts at the beginning

No.You need to me in the scorpion to earn the achivement.You dont have to finish the mission,thats impossible.You need to get through a certain checkpoint,not sure where though.Hope that helped for 'Tank beats everything!'
I did it, I went through it and I took the revs to kill em all. :) It's posible the tank beats everything thing, But i did use the tank to destroy the first t2 hovering bases.
i did it with no tank on legendary , all you need is a fuelrod and plasma pistol, over charge EMP disable any son of a bitch , and finish them off with a few shots of fuelrod , this combo is deadly as hell
Friendly tip: just be a little more observant when it comes to weapons, ammo, and grenades. What I mean by that is, LOOK for them just a little harder! Like after you fought the skirmishers after entering Sword Base, there was a needle rifle on the top of the ramp (which you were talking about wanting one...) and you just bypassed it, haha. I'm not intending to be a jackass, just giving you a tip.

@NextGenTactics I found out that the trigger for the achievement is not reaching the base with the tank in-tact but rather getting the tank to the base. Leaving the tank at the start point will NOT work (though I think it should) and if you want to try it out for yourself, after taking out all the guy, park the tanks a few hundred yards away and walk the last little bit, no chievo. Go back, get in the tank, drive back up to the base... chievo.

Oh yea, and after 3:52, yes, you can get it but only if you get in it once. Like press x to get in, then get out, then complete the level. If you do not get in it even once, it does not work.

i did it on co op with my brother, i drove and shot whatever i could with the tank, as long as i wasnt getting hit.
and my brother went ahead and took out as many enemies as he could
the only hard part was the last part with the turrets and the revenants, it was a pain in the arse and had to spend 30 minutes getting past that

When I play Legendary I always use free for all scoring so I know if I've killed anything in the distance.

No.You need to me in the scorpion to earn the achivement.You dont have to finish the mission,thats impossible.You need to get through a certain checkpoint,not sure where though.Hope that helped for 'Tank beats everything!'

I did it, I went through it and I took the revs to kill em all. :) It's posible the tank beats everything thing, But i did use the tank to destroy the first t2 hovering bases.

i did it with no tank on legendary , all you need is a fuelrod and plasma pistol, over charge EMP disable any son of a bitch , and finish them off with a few shots of fuelrod , this combo is deadly as hell

no what you have to do is get in the tank, then jump out of the tank and then contiue with the mission, then you get the achievement )

Friendly tip: just be a little more observant when it comes to weapons, ammo, and grenades. What I mean by that is, LOOK for them just a little harder! Like after you fought the skirmishers after entering Sword Base, there was a needle rifle on the top of the ramp (which you were talking about wanting one...) and you just bypassed it, haha. I'm not intending to be a jackass, just giving you a tip.

@NextGenTactics I found out that the trigger for the achievement is not reaching the base with the tank in-tact but rather getting the tank to the base. Leaving the tank at the start point will NOT work (though I think it should) and if you want to try it out for yourself, after taking out all the guy, park the tanks a few hundred yards away and walk the last little bit, no chievo. Go back, get in the tank, drive back up to the base... chievo.

Oh yea, and after 3:52, yes, you can get it but only if you get in it once. Like press x to get in, then get out, then complete the level. If you do not get in it even once, it does not work.

i thaught he says tank beath everything in halo 2 im pretty sure its in halo 2 the mission where ur driving down the long ass bridge with the tank and theres ghosts banshes and wraiths and then after u low up the wraiths ur team mate says tank beats everyhting lol i just remembered he does say that in halo 3 butt im pretty sure he says it in halo 2 also butt im not sure
