So great - this is the best professional version I've seen/heard, and the story before it makes it even better. Thanks for posting this; from Weed, NM.
Do you know a cowboy poem believed to be titled: Nevada Slim? It was taken from a pamphlet or booklet printed prior to WWII...we are trying to discover the author
This will bring tears to the wildest hog's eyes! My father in law sang this to his first pup when he was born in '49. God bless the men of word and music who help keep the real Cowboy Way alive! Don was cut from the "old Rock". It is in his soul! Thanks from down in Texas!
Hey there is Cowman in Europe to! I have been listen to Don,and Waddy for almost 15 Years now, got working Cowdogs , Cowhorses, and cattle. it is nice Music in Texas also here in Germany.
it's amazing how many people from europe comment on this post, i'm from texas and grew up with this music, unfortunately not as many texans know this singer, glad to see it's made it across the ocean
Don Edwards is one of the last true cowboys in America. I had the chance to meet him in Missouri Valley, Iowa about three years ago. He's truly as genuine in person as he appears on the video clip.
Im 16 and from London and discovered Coyotes by Don by chance and just thought i'd say how absolutely magnificent the songs he sings are and the way he sings them. Lovely Don Edwards.
Ma'am what you hear from Mr Edwards is one of the truest depictions of an era not that far removed from the present in the Oklahoma and Texas Territories. Oklahoma recently celebrated its 100th birthday. I consider myself fortunate for having been born into that culture. I urge you to read about that time and place. A good start would be to Google "Shootout at Ingalls, Oklahoma." I hope you enjoy all the history and "may the good Lord take a like'n to ya."

Great Post! My name is Joe. My older Aunts would sing this in Grandma's kitchen. Great memories.
