Yeah, DSG or not, I have to go manual. It's a few seconds faster off the line, but it's only cause the driver's taken out of the equation.

Motorweek forgot to tell us that the GTI with DSG transmission is faster than the 6 speed manual they tested. Since it shifts faster it goes 0-60 faster and 1/4 mile as well. Opting for the "automatic" gti doesn't mean you get lower performance or worse gas mileage.

Thanks for posting this. I like Motorweek and I love the new GTI. I'm still driving my '85 MkII 8v, bought new. This (MkV)is the only GTI I've desired since the 16v.

Thanks for posting this. Interesting that the 1992 Corrado SLC VR-6 posted similar performance numbers when it was tested by Motorweek. You can see that test on YouTube, too...
