Rod at his best.....this is one of my favorite of his....just does not get any better..what happen to all the good songs....thanks for posting this super song....I will play it over and over...cant get enough ........
Thanks for the song, long ago that "heard" in my mind and could not find it on you tube, it was like a little torture, I said that I have to find it and finally! thanks for freeing me, probably as some other more. Merry Christmas
I'm desperately looking for a remix of this song circa 2001. It was a kind of deep house version with samples of Rod Stewart. I only heard it on N.E.W. Dance Radio Amsterdam. Does anyone have any ideas?
METROPIC1 I AGREE! I LUV Rod's band mates from the 80s period too!! THEY WERE TRULY AWESOME! Jim Cregan,Robin Lemesier,Jimmy Zavala, and Tony Brock are my most favorites from 81-85! I like Jay Davis and Kevin a lot too! They were great guys!! I had no idea that Tony Brock and Wally Stocker were in the Baby's together. I wish I got to see all of em live in person with Rod in the 80s but I was a baby at the time. Ah well at least i have my DVDs of Rod's concerts.

this is one of my favorite rod stewart funk joints. one of the reasons i became a phone. this era in music also saw a rise in white artist funk'in up and the fusioning the blend with soul/r&b. and that is kool as shit.
FINALLY.....after hours of surfing that "Classics" rubbish I find something I've never seen! If anyone has more footage from the "Foolish Behavior" To "Body Wishes" period, please post it! God bless ol'Jim Cregan, this is when Rod really had a BAND, and I do believe that is Wally Stocker from The Baby's along with his mate Tony Brock! SEX POLICE, It is truly a thankless job. Kevin, me son, call Rod, it's time you wrote wth him again, Cheers all, Knees up Rod, we need ya mate!
How odd to release a cover version of a song that's only seven years old (and that was very popular) that sounds pretty similar to the original. Sorry, Rod, Ace's was so much better.
I prefer How Long by Lipps Inc

this is a different version than what was released in the states. i like the other one better...it was cleaner and you could hear the lead better.

There was a version of How Long in 1981 by a female voice, I dunno if it was a solist or the lead singer of a group... any help, please?

According to Wikipedia, this was covered in '77 by Barbara Mandrell and in '81 by Lipps, Inc. whose lead singer was Cynthia Johnson.
