@kingsmasion12 I AM NOT AN OLD HEAD (AT LEAST I DONT THINK 30 IS CONSIDERED OLD) BUT MY DAD USED TO PLAY THIS AND ALL OF THE OTHER GROUPS FROM THE 70'S ND EARLY 80'S SO I GREW UP ON IT!! BRINGS BACK SO MANY MEMORIES OF MY CHILDHOOD..FAMILY GET TOGETHERS...SUNDAY DINNERS...SUMMER TIME BBQ'S...THOSE WERE SOME GOOD TIMES!!!
Had this on cassette tape. Remember those? Had to replace it twice because 1 walked off without me. The other turned to spaghetti from being played sooo much. :)
I remember when this song came out when I was a young girl. Now, as a women, I know the meaning of each sentence and let it sink into me. There is no more music like this AT ALL. This is about making love and not a one night stand thank you ma'am. They want to give all of what they got and more.
Most boys don't grow up to become men as the songs talk about. Most folks just want this woman and that woman to impress his home boys. Most don't want a real woman.
You can hear echos of Babyface in all of these guys, too. These were four (4) of the most talented Cats of the 80's and 90's. Though, Babyface, is not included in After 7.
Too bad they couldn't keep things together for the long haul. They had a very distinctive sound that gave them a genuine edge in the business.

love, love, love this song!!! I remember listening to this on a auto replay cassette player until I feel asleep! radio edit, extended version, instrumental...replay! LOL
This song always makes me think of my daughters father, and the good times we had in our almost 15 year relationship that began in 1989. Unfortunately, he wasn't READY for a committed relationship and I was. Such is life! At least I got my beautiful 7 yo daughter out of it.
people say they want a time machine, but if you could go back you would see we didn't appreciate it as much as we should have, after all, doo wop had been around since the 50's, and we thought doo wop groups would last forever. The last do wop group was SOLO, they appreciated doo wop so much they were a double pleasure to listen too.

@dirtyhavoc/BLKJEW01: That comment was spot on.....i couldn't agree more. Some ppl have no joy inside them and all they can bring to the table is their negativity. We must pray for those miserable creatures.....i guess GOD loves them too.
Jealous no talent ppl come here to say they dislike this music only because they have no talent and feel worthless....don't feed into their issues. Fact is, if they really didn't like it,then why come here? They might even be trying to get ppl to respond to them because it is their only way of getting attention. When you have low selfesteem....i guess neg attention is better then none at all.
OH WOW!!!!!. i forgot about this song over the yeras. but i love it. thanks for posting. I played it over and over :-). again, thanks for posting this sweet tune.
yeah I feel u bruh, I can't even listen to the shit they got today. I got one teenager and a 8 yr old and I'm trying to steer them right. My son loves Prince and MJ and I'm gonna keep influencing them as much as I can. I mean c'mon Lady GaGa for real. Give me a break. As long as there;'s old schooler's like u and me. We have hope my friend. Good to hear there's still people especially our people that appreciate real music. Much love my brotha.
@raiderfan71269 I don't like everything I hear but there is an audience for everything. I support the artists I like by going to their live shows and buying their albums. Often times, fans of artists who make "good" music, don't do the same thing, which tells the record companies that people don't want to hear their music.
@DIJV79 You got that right! I'm 43 & frankly it pains me to listen to the shit out today that they call music. And yes the generation gap is even wider between me & my 15yo daughters! Anytime I can, I try to get them to listen to the music I grew up on. For the most part they actually tell me they like like it and roll their eyes when they say it. God how I wish I could take them back to the 70's,80's & early 90's. and let them hear what the "Real Deal" is !
@mrpittsburghpi I just don't listen to the music now days, you basically just have to unplugg from it. That shit will make you brain dead it lowers your consciousness.
I was in the Air Force stationed in UK when this came out. I put this on one of my "Slow Jam" tapes that I'd have ready just for the ladies. They don't make slow jams like these any more.
I remember Gary who I crushed on for so long because of this song...he had some crazy vocals and sung this for me..oh man, those days...lol...but thanks to him I was introduced to a great group..wow, high school...
They just don't make 'em like this anymore. So sad to think that so many generations these days are growing up with songs with no real substance or meaning. These songs (and the like) were real true lasting love songs.
Germany 1990 was in the ARMY my roomate introduced me to this. I was more into NWA, Pubic Enemy etc.... ended loving this song and Johnny Gill, ended up loving R&B and such. Wow!!! The memories and the women back then. Real R&B not this stuff they have now. Give me the 80's and 90's anyday.
@raiderfan71269 I feel you on that bruh. I was in Nuemburg Ansbach and Monteith barracks I use to go to 49ers club and this was the cut. where were you stationed?
@Universalbuilder7 Hey Universal I was stationed in Frankfurt Drake/Edwards Kaserne. 89-91. Yeah man, I really loved it over there, but couldn't wait to get back stateside and get out at the time. I should of stayed my ass in i would of had 21 yrs now. Oh, well young and dumb how long were you over there?
@raiderfan71269 I feel you. 80's & 90's slow jams was the best. In the 80's you actually had to be able to sing. Not like today auto-tune, shock value, all image not talent so called singers. Today's R&B artist aren't that good.
@MackDaddyCoolC It's a sad state of affairs in music my brotha today. Back then like you said you had to have real talent. Now it's all prepackaged and fake. Sad part about New Edition probably started it, but they had talent individually. Now it's a joke. And don't even get me started on Hip Hop............
@raiderfan71269 For real bro. Gon't let me start on hip hop either. I agree with you. Music today is pitiful. It's more of a circus than seeing a person sing live today. 100 dancers on stage, lip-synching, and terrible songs. Hip hop is worst than a joke. I just listen to the old stuff now. Any time someone like Lil Wayne & Soulja Boy can some how make it to the top of the rap world then something is wrong. I'll even go as far to say Jay-Z suck. He's paid but he is garbage to me. Peace out.
@MackDaddyCoolC The 80's and 90's had their share of bad music as well. There are so many artists today that make great music, but people like you are so focused on the ones who make garbage.
@relly1983 It's Bieber fans like you who thinks that garbage out today is music. Most of these manufactured, no singing, non talents today are all image. Yeah it was bad music in the 80's & 90's but not like today. At least most of the artist from those times could actually sing. They didn't need 100 dancers on stage to distract from their lack of talent because they had talent. No all music today isn't trash but most of it is. Popular music should be for everyone if it's good.
@MackDaddyCoolC LMAO. I don't like Justin Bieber's music but I don't knock him. Instead complaining about his music and others, I simply don't support it. I only support artists I enjoy such as, Nas, Jay Electronica, Dwele, Eric Roberson, The Foreign Exchange, Little Brother, Lalah Hathaway, Raheem Devaughn, Goapele, Amel Larreiux and etc...
@relly1983 I actually like some of the same artist you named. I do not buy any artist I don't like. I just don't like the fact that real music artist like Dwele, Raheem Devaughn, Gary Taylor, Silk, etc who make good music & are truly talented gets over looked for trash like Lady GaGa, Bieber, Katy Perry, Beyonce' etc. In my opinion, an artist like Dwele should have went 5x platinum. Good music & solid production but he was over looked & out sold by trash. That's my pet peeve but hey too bad.
What was the name of the song that the guy in the middle collaborated with a couple of other R and B stars one of them being KC from KC and Jojo??? They only came out with 1 track (well 1 that was on the Billboard)???
I just discovered this song via Pandora. I feel a bit cheated. I'm 20 and I don't think I've ever heard this song. I have been playing the heck out of this song on my iPod.
If you are here, you are cool!

When you have low selfesteem....i guess neg attention is better then none at all.

yeah I feel u bruh, I can't even listen to the shit they got today. Much love my brotha.
raiderfan71269 1 year ago
@raiderfan71269 If you're over 30 years old, today's popular music isn't made for you and complaining about it is pointless.
relly1983 1 year ago
@relly1983 maybe so. But judging from the many complaints I've seen I'm not the only one who feels this way. How do you feel anout today's music.?
raiderfan71269 1 year ago
@raiderfan71269 I don't like everything I hear but there is an audience for everything. I support the artists I like by going to their live shows and buying their albums. Often times, fans of artists who make "good" music, don't do the same thing, which tells the record companies that people don't want to hear their music.
relly1983 1 year ago
@relly1983 You hit the nail right on the head, if you are over 30 the generation gap just widens.
DIJV79 1 year ago
@DIJV79 You got that right! I'm 43 & frankly it pains me to listen to the shit out today that they call music. And yes the generation gap is even wider between me & my 15yo daughters! Anytime I can, I try to get them to listen to the music I grew up on. For the most part they actually tell me they like like it and roll their eyes when they say it. God how I wish I could take them back to the 70's,80's & early 90's. and let them hear what the "Real Deal" is !
mrpittsburghpi 1 year ago
@mrpittsburghpi I just don't listen to the music now days, you basically just have to unplugg from it. That shit will make you brain dead it lowers your consciousness.

I was in the Air Force stationed in UK when this came out. I put this on one of my "Slow Jam" tapes that I'd have ready just for the ladies. They don't make slow jams like these any more.
MackDaddyCoolC 1 year ago
I remember Gary who I crushed on for so long because of this song...he had some crazy vocals and sung this for me..oh man, those days...lol...but thanks to him I was introduced to a great group..wow, high school...
symoneraene 1 year ago
They just don't make 'em like this anymore. So sad to think that so many generations these days are growing up with songs with no real substance or meaning. These songs (and the like) were real true lasting love songs.

Germany 1990 was in the ARMY my roomate introduced me to this. I was more into NWA, Pubic Enemy etc.... ended loving this song and Johnny Gill, ended up loving R&B and such. Wow!!! The memories and the women back then. Real R&B not this stuff they have now. Give me the 80's and 90's anyday.
raiderfan71269 1 year ago
@raiderfan71269 I feel you on that bruh. I was in Nuemburg Ansbach and Monteith barracks I use to go to 49ers club and this was the cut. where were you stationed?
Universalbuilder7 1 year ago
@Universalbuilder7 Hey Universal I was stationed in Frankfurt Drake/Edwards Kaserne. 89-91. Yeah man, I really loved it over there, but couldn't wait to get back stateside and get out at the time. I should of stayed my ass in i would of had 21 yrs now. Oh, well young and dumb how long were you over there?
raiderfan71269 1 year ago
@raiderfan71269 I feel you. 80's & 90's slow jams was the best. In the 80's you actually had to be able to sing. Not like today auto-tune, shock value, all image not talent so called singers. Today's R&B artist aren't that good.
MackDaddyCoolC 1 year ago
@MackDaddyCoolC It's a sad state of affairs in music my brotha today. Back then like you said you had to have real talent. Now it's all prepackaged and fake. Sad part about New Edition probably started it, but they had talent individually. Now it's a joke. And don't even get me started on Hip Hop............
raiderfan71269 1 year ago
@raiderfan71269 For real bro. Gon't let me start on hip hop either. I agree with you. Music today is pitiful. It's more of a circus than seeing a person sing live today. 100 dancers on stage, lip-synching, and terrible songs. Hip hop is worst than a joke. I just listen to the old stuff now. Any time someone like Lil Wayne & Soulja Boy can some how make it to the top of the rap world then something is wrong. I'll even go as far to say Jay-Z suck. He's paid but he is garbage to me. Peace out.
MackDaddyCoolC 1 year ago
@MackDaddyCoolC The 80's and 90's had their share of bad music as well. There are so many artists today that make great music, but people like you are so focused on the ones who make garbage.
relly1983 1 year ago
@relly1983 It's Bieber fans like you who thinks that garbage out today is music. Most of these manufactured, no singing, non talents today are all image. Yeah it was bad music in the 80's & 90's but not like today. At least most of the artist from those times could actually sing. They didn't need 100 dancers on stage to distract from their lack of talent because they had talent. No all music today isn't trash but most of it is. Popular music should be for everyone if it's good.
MackDaddyCoolC 1 year ago
@MackDaddyCoolC LMAO. I don't like Justin Bieber's music but I don't knock him. Instead complaining about his music and others, I simply don't support it. I only support artists I enjoy such as, Nas, Jay Electronica, Dwele, Eric Roberson, The Foreign Exchange, Little Brother, Lalah Hathaway, Raheem Devaughn, Goapele, Amel Larreiux and etc...
relly1983 1 year ago
@relly1983 I actually like some of the same artist you named. I do not buy any artist I don't like. I just don't like the fact that real music artist like Dwele, Raheem Devaughn, Gary Taylor, Silk, etc who make good music & are truly talented gets over looked for trash like Lady GaGa, Bieber, Katy Perry, Beyonce' etc. In my opinion, an artist like Dwele should have went 5x platinum. Good music & solid production but he was over looked & out sold by trash. That's my pet peeve but hey too bad.
