If Nokia would have included GSM/GPRS radio to this N800, Nokia would be the biggest mobile phone manufacturer by 90% margin by today. But because Nokia is full of stupid idiots, now they are ditching Android and going to Windows based OS, and thats the final blow wich will kill Nokia Corporation. @kullirasva This uses Linux, probably Maemo so what's with the Android when Maemo is better. Btw Nokia still is biggest mobile phone manufacturer because they sell cheap phones all over the world, but they really failed when they started to use Symbian in touch screen phones and going with Windows sucks even more but they still have hope if everybody buys their first MeeGo device and if no one buys Windows phone, then they would have to use more MeeGo. (Linux based like Maemo and Android)

no it ain't ! iphone has also 32 gigs, it's screen is multitouch, it has 7000 apps and 4000 of them are games, and the screen experience is as smooth if not smoother than the n900's, not to mention virtually endless customizing possibilities is jaibroken !!!!

years back I looked into this device. no phone function was the deal breaker.

if I understand correctly it doesn't add much size nor cost to add basic cell phone function. and it would've been such a great device for me and many other users. I strongly thought nokia would've open up a hugh market segment in which nokia had a head start and in leadership position, years ago. instead iphone took a big bite. even today i still scratch head WHY nokia, didn't have phone feature w/ this......

lol what do you think? it has a whole windows operating system, and nowadays, even on like an enV you can watch youtube. i think it runs windows ce and theres an adobe flash plugin for that OS. so, to simplify it, yes it can do youtube and a whole lot more

Just wanted you guys to know that this video is of OS 2007. The newer OS 2008 is WAYYYYYY better and faster for serveral reasons ranging from the clock speed being set to normal 400mhz (not under clocked at 333) and there are many new and cooler programs than what you'll see here such as Music programs with smooth Kinetic scrolling(Canola 2). I have the n800 with os 2008 and it's awesome but I want to sell it now because I have a great smartphone and don't need it.

The majority of programs for os 2008 are for all three oses. 2006 to 2008!

I use Canola 2 on my 770 and 800.

OS 2008 only gives you more software clutter and faster clockspeed.

youtube is great when you allow it to load all the way and you can choose what to have on the home screen. you can have th RSS on or not. you can customize the home screen however you want. it's great

Its open source unlike Apple's iron grip on its own device and it has flash player 9 while ipod Touch doesn't have...flash...at all. Best part is how customizable this thing is compared to even a jailbroken Touch.

A couple things that apple did much better are its media player and the touch screen is far more responsive.

Get the Archos 5 for web browsing. I've got the Touch and Archos 5. I use the Touch for running or some games, but in browsing the 5 completely destroys the Touch. It has Flash 9 (The pod has like 7) so you can natively view any web page. Theres also over double the CPU power and stronger Wifi card so it's about twice as fast loading pages. It's like a 2ghz PC with IE6.

im getting a sony mylo 2, it does the same things that the n800 does, it has keyboard, and touch screen, but......IT COSTS LESS.you could also look at the nokia n810, its the new version of this one, but costs up to $470.00, but if money is not a factor for this, n810 would be it.

I like the iPod touch more for podcasts and music. Everything else (web browsing, chat, apps, GPS, etc.) is better on the N800/N810.

the N800 and the N810 are really the same except for two things. The N810 has a built in slide out Qwerty keyboard whereas the N800 does not. Secound the N810 has a built in gps unlike the N800 where you have to buy the kit sepretly and you have to use a bluetooth gps reciver. Now I believe you have to buy a license agreement to use the gps for the N810. I don't know that for sure but i believe i read that somehwere.

First of all its not a 'phone' its 'internet table', you dont put the SIM card inside.

And 'YES' you can use internet 'out of the box' ... as long as you are in range of a WiFi network :) or you can use your mobile phone as a modem (via bluetooth with N800)

No it's not a mobile phone, it's just a PDA-like device made by Nokia.

It has REALLY GOOD WiFi and Bluetooth support though (can connect to WiFi networks that even high-end PC WiFi cards can't even see).

I use the one from Proporta to cut down glare when making videos, but my 770 (pretty much identical screen) never got a scratch in over a year of active use and another 6 months of occasional use.
