For all the people that don't know: in the first Ramones line up, Dee Dee was the bassist and the singer, and Joey was on the drums, with Johnny on the guitar of course. In 1974 they took Tommy Ramone to be the drummer and leave Joey at the voice.

Joey played the drums at the begining but Dee Dee couldn't sing and play bass so Joey took over. Tommy originally managed the band but from showing all of the drummer he auditioned what he wanted he ended up teaching himself how to play!
