the problem with this storm is that it happnes so early in the season and the terrs did not shed the leafs yet and with snow and leafs on trees it is too much weight on the trees so there was trees falling everywhere.
Remember that storm we had on in WNY recently? I heard a lot of people lost power that day too.
I heard a lot of people were awakened at 4:00am due to the howling winds. I guess a lot of areas had a whole shit load of damage. I was awakened at about 6:00am due to the howling winds. There are no windows in my bedroom (I sleep in the basement), but I could still hear those winds. I remember that day I saw a downed power pole on Buffalo Ave in Niagara Falls.
people on here are retarded, the reason it was such a big deal was because it happened too early in the year, the leaves were not off the trees and the snow was wet and heavy and it collapsed all the trees, which in turn knocked down all the power lines.
If the leaves werent on the trees, then thats an everyday thing in winter in Buffalo.
Besides, we've had 7 times as much snow as that in the past, look up the blizzard of '77
the snow was not light, that shit was heavier then usual, it was wierd, i lived there alll ma life and never seen snow fall from the sky as compact as it did, it clumped on trees with green leves still on it and almost every tree eventually had at least 2 large branches fall off, safe to say Gieco was pissed for the money they paid to car owners :D
We didn't get much damage in Wheatfield, but I remember when I drove around the Tonawandas there were downed trees and power lines on almost every other street. Most of the streets were blocked and a lot of the restaurants in NT were closed. All the snow melted in like a day or 2.
yea in the city was worse they didn't plow anything exept for bus routes, so the side streets were lookin like a mini hurracane hit, i had no power for a week and had to stay with a relative that didnt lose power. even with me not havin to go to school it sucked
The worst storm I remember experiencing was the blizzard we had in 2002. We were without power for an entire day. I guess when I was a little kid, we had a storm in 1990 and we were without power for days I was told.
i hated that storm it was the reason ma lizard died,i think that was the year the city was shutdown, no petstore was open so it kinda died without rats from the few days i didnt feed it plus that extra week. sad
