@concussedcarneous I have 2 neck thru Jacksons and a 20 year old Japanese made bolt on Rhoads, and they all sound great. But bolt ons can be good if you get the right ones. The Japanese made Jacksons had neck thru models that were almost as good as the USA ones. The bolt on versions were very well made too. After about 5 years Jackson stopped production from the Japanese plant because it was hurting US sales. The early 1990's jacksons were very good, better than today's j30.
