I was the girl who said "let's play". It was shot in Puerto Rico and my brother (who was the one who was going to "block) and I never got to see the finished commercial play on TV. We had no idea it was played on TV so much. Thank you to whoever posted it ! Great memory !
I was the kid who was going to "block " and my sister was the little girl who said 'lets play". Thank you for posting this. I have not seen it for many years. It was shot in Puerto Rico in 1970 or 1971. Walt Medina
& today kids use computer games TO LEARN THEIR ALPHABET!!! Can someone say "middle ground??"
There can't be any profit in making & selling these old games anymore but I think if you can get your hands on a bunch of these games for your little kids, like 7 & under, they would love you for it.
thanks a million for posting!!! i've been doing this for people at parties for years. as someone else wrote, i can recite it verbatim, complete with character voice changes & proper intonation for each. but i always wondered how well i really knew it until now. how funny is it that i was completely spot on!!! wonder why this particular commercial has stuck so well in so many peoples heads? come to think of it, i too found it to be an annoying commercial...maybe that has something to do with it?!
Thanks for uploading this. One of the most memorable commercials of my youth along with that Kool Aid skateboarding one. I still remember every word to this. 'Your tune, move a lever...' Great upload!!!!!
hy cant Tv and commercials be the way it used to be like it was from the 60's through the mid 90's? Tv today is garbadge and the new born are missing out on all the good old stuff!
@EyeballMuscles Owen Wilson? He looks to me like someone who was on the cover of Tiger Beat in the early 70's but now starring in Celebrity Rehab. Your guess is better so, let's go with Owen Wilson....
Wasn't there one after this where the kid who says "i"m the sole survivor" puts out his arms and spins real fast in a circle and flies up in the air? My brother seems to think so or was that a different toy commercial?
I hadn't seen this one for more than 30 years, but remembered every line before they were even said - complete with the weird intonation one of the kids has ("Stay Alive...THE survival game.")
Thought it was funny that the skinny kid who was going to "block that strategy", didn't..! :D
Ahh, good times. The influence of Gilligan's Island can't be underestimated here... look at that kids hat! ((laughs)) those reruns lasted well into the late 70's...
I recently bought a old Stay Alive game- $15 or so off eBay, was totally complete. Good fun playing it again. Thanks for the upload.
Totally remember this commercial like it was yesterday and all of the dialouge. Does anyone know the exact year? I'm thinking 1974. Good times, indeed!
"I'm the sole survivor....." :P

Did the kid in the Gilligan hat go on to other acting gigs? He looks familiar but I just can't place his face....

Notice the continuity error. The yellow ball in the corner disappears too soon at :14.

I remember this commercial and the one with Vincent Price. This one was annoying then, and time hasn't improved it, lol.

When I saw the Vincent Price commercial I was suprised, as this was the one I had remembered. This was a fun game, one I could even play by myself.
