@iGhostmlg Yes. Every profession in the game can basically create two weapon sets and switch between them. Ie: One set a sword and shield, the other being a bow or something. You can go right to the enemy with the sword and shield, do some damage. Dodge back out and switch to range with a simple click, do some range damage and then roll straight back in and switch back to melee. Elementalists also have the option to switch between 4 attunements and 2 weapon sets.
@iGhostmlg im not an expert but i think there is a "quick swap" type button where you can switch between weapons (like a bow and sword) and the different weapons have different skills. but thats just what ive picked up on from numerous commentaries

Guild Wars 2 is going to be epic. As you may know, many of the developers are Ex-Blizzard guys who started the company. Guild Wars has always been an RPG series about strategy and fun instead of "Who has the most epic sword" or "who can collect 10,0000 bug eyes first" ... This game series will definitely be my MMORPG of choice once it ships. I only hope that they haven't changed EVERYTHING to the point where GW1 users will be alienated.
Will this be a MMO where you can see other people adventuring out in the world with you like RIFT? Or no. I hope yes. I hope its not like GW1 where you have to group up in town and then adventure out. The game looks great though.

@guuso123 You dont need to find a private server! The game will be free to play, that is no monthly fees. All you pay is for the game itself, once, and then you play all you want on Arena Net servers (official servers). Only other time you pay is when an expansion comes out. It's just like WoW, only no monthly fees (or gamecards). ^_^

GW2 is not WoW. Listen to the developers of GW2 they don't want to be compared to WoW at all, they stand on their OWN legs, proving they're better. They don't need to beat down another MMO to prove their better. Rift failed by doing that.
I'm from the future and I'm currently playing this game, there's good news for GW players and bad news for WoW players, World Of Warcraft was shut down due to lack of players and Guild Wars 2 is popular amongst players. WoW prvate servers are still running but not many people play on them.

Does anyone know the exact mouse controls? I assume you click (left or right) and hold, then move with the arrows keys.. But i don't see where you click to target somthing.
@jjomegadata clicking the ground to move is being removed so movement is just arrow keys, i assume you hold down right click to adjust camera angle like in gw1. from what i've seen in demo vids so far players gain a blue outline when you hover the mouse over them, npcs green and foes red. hope this helps.

WoW graphics are intentionally cartoonish. Guild Wars graphics are purposefully realistic, defined, but have unrealistic visual elements. (such as the spells) They both have good graphics for their purposes. What you are doing by comparing the two is essentially equivalent to disliking a photo because it lacks artistic elements unique to a painting. Maybe I am completely wrong, regardless, Guild Wars 2 isn't even out yet and so can't be compared to a fully developed game....
@Sithlordxxxx well, thats true, but they stated that if you can play guildwars on your pc without problems you can play guildwars2 without problems aswell. they said that they will make the hardware requirement as low as possible, so that many people can play it. of course you wont have all effects and such stuff, but you will still be able to play it laggfree. and i think that is pretty awesome. (when too many people are there at the same time you will ofc lagg with an old pc).
They seroiously need to sort out the whole movement issue. It looks awful! Strafing while running forwards?... it looks horrible. Asside from that, gameplay looks ok i guess. Nothing new.. just another MMO *sigh*

I hope they fix the clunky-looking strafing. That's randomly one of the big sticking points I have with most MMO's (WoW being one of the few who got it right). I strafe so much that I want it to actually look decent.
You have to make sure you do not forget if anyone says bad graphics and speaks anything bad about it its because they are wow lovers their love life is so dedicated to wow they have to push away GW2 like as if its another girl trying to hit on them and they know their wife wow is looking.

If you want a free MMO, try Vindictus. But there aren't any other good free MMOs (unless you count runescape...), and I don't know of any MMOs other than Guild Wars that don't have a subscription and aren't free to download.
I have to say the great artwork and the scale of the environment are mainly responsible for me being so stoked for this game. Even if some quests are a little tedious, there's always the environment to sit back and enjoy viewing. =D
This game appears to be so awe inspiring. I can't wait to get fully immersed into this game.

GW2 is not WoW. Listen to the developers of GW2 they don't want to be compared to WoW at all, they stand on their OWN legs, proving they're better. They don't need to beat down another MMO to prove their better. Rift failed by doing that.

I'm from the future and I'm currently playing this game, there's good news for GW players and bad news for WoW players, World Of Warcraft was shut down due to lack of players and Guild Wars 2 is popular amongst players. WoW prvate servers are still running but not many people play on them.

And i'm also guessing you can buy it online from Anet-store, but who doesn't want to buy it in the store and get the CD, manual and everything else? :D

Does anyone know the exact mouse controls? I assume you click (left or right) and hold, then move with the arrows keys.. But i don't see where you click to target somthing.

@jjomegadata clicking the ground to move is being removed so movement is just arrow keys, i assume you hold down right click to adjust camera angle like in gw1. from what i've seen in demo vids so far players gain a blue outline when you hover the mouse over them, npcs green and foes red. hope this helps.

WoW graphics are intentionally cartoonish. Guild Wars graphics are purposefully realistic, defined, but have unrealistic visual elements. (such as the spells) They both have good graphics for their purposes. What you are doing by comparing the two is essentially equivalent to disliking a photo because it lacks artistic elements unique to a painting. Maybe I am completely wrong, regardless, Guild Wars 2 isn't even out yet and so can't be compared to a fully developed game....

@Sithlordxxxx well, thats true, but they stated that if you can play guildwars on your pc without problems you can play guildwars2 without problems aswell. they said that they will make the hardware requirement as low as possible, so that many people can play it. of course you wont have all effects and such stuff, but you will still be able to play it laggfree. and i think that is pretty awesome. (when too many people are there at the same time you will ofc lagg with an old pc).

This game graphics will no be the best, they are slightly better than guild wars 1 but not the best, there is only 1 MMO who has the best graphics and thats age of conan, recently they had an engine upgrade, the dreamworld engine, guild wars will be nice and we will have fun to play it.

@GamingPwnage96 You have to buy it. People make a big deal of how cheap it is because, unlike most MMOs, you only have to buy it ONCE. But you do have to buy it.
If you want a free MMO, try Vindictus. But there aren't any other good free MMOs (unless you count runescape...), and I don't know of any MMOs other than Guild Wars that don't have a subscription and aren't free to download.

I have to say the great artwork and the scale of the environment are mainly responsible for me being so stoked for this game. Even if some quests are a little tedious, there's always the environment to sit back and enjoy viewing. =D
