  • The black and white option seems like a stylistic choice, not to accommodate black and white tv owners.

  • @madcapoperator I guess that it's suppose to give the player some sort of feeling that they are in a old classic samurai film.

  • 2 is waaaaaaaaay better. Its so easy to dodge the swords that are thrown at you. This guys has no idea what he's talking about. Also, if you hit Left than X and ur really close to the guy, u do this long kill move.

  • Obviously the guy giving he review sucked noodles at both of these great games

  • you know i wouldnt mind seeing a dynasty warriors/bushido blade hybrid

  • I love this game series, and while I like that it was discussed well in this review, there are a couple of things this guy said about Bushido Blade 2 that need some clearing up: - The throwing weapons in Bushido Blade 2, even the one hit kill ones, WEREN'T cheap. They are easily deflected or sidestepped. - The B&W mode wasn't for people with B&W TV's; it was there as a tribute to the old B&W samurai films. - The sparks were actually supposed to be blood... it just wasn't done very well.

  • no life bars and power gauges. that's the way to do it. one wrong move at the start of the battle can mean death. i remember someone saying, "you pause for one second in front of your enemy, and its all over. good luck doesn't last forever.".

  • Bushido Blade III

    Coming Summer 2010

    only for 360

(May or may not recieve a ps3/4 port with more characters and an extended storyline!)

  • this game is brilliant,

why because it was and is truly giroscopic and the first person mode is amazing, bushido blade to is shit

you understand 1, and understand your weapon

as they say you can strike your opponet from miles away

best way2play against your friend, both with eyes closed no music, and just soun effects

this way you get the true way to understand your opponet and yourself

bushido blade one, japanese playstation, fighting me= move you die, dont move u die, run, you die

  • u have Mortal Kombat 2

  • These were GREAT games... truly some of the best melee weapons combat on the console ever (yes even comparable to the much prettier Soul Calibur). I never played Bushido III though. Next chance I get, I'm going to set the first two games up on bleemcast... ;)

  • it had a black and white becase it was like the old ninja movie things still a dumb idea tho

  • I really, really want to see a Bushido Blade 3.

  • Unfortunately with Square merging with Enix and Light Weight being bought by Genki, it seems unlikely that this will ever happen and if it does it will likely be in name only.

  • It's a shame because this is one fighting game series that would really benefit from next gen technology. Wide open areas, perhaps with more stage interaction, better animations, possibly better controls and of course better graphics. I know graphics don't affect gameplay, but the game could be incredibly atmospheric with more polygons to push around.

  • totally agree man. Its such a feckin shame :(

  • The series is known under many names when published including Tokyo Highway Battle when published by Jaleco and Tokyo Xtreme Racer when published by Crave.

  • That was supposed to be a reply to eferreira2323's comment.

  • I've heard of these games but never actually played them. I think theres a Kengo game on the 360. It's called Kengo: Legend of the 9

  • Sorry Ben I usually love your reviews but in that one you really made a lot of errors.

The weapon clash (you call it tie up) was in Bushido Blade 1 as well as the secondary weapons. They didn't kill you like in BB2 but they were there. You could also link 2 psones in FP mode and you could also switch to b/w in bushido blade 1. You didn't mention the ability to throw dirt at your opponent as well as the endings and enemys that depending if you were fighting with honor. I played BB a lot back then

  • Me and my friends loved these games! And yes this video definitely has errors which marvelmania has mentioned but at least this video is a "love bushido" video as opposed to a "hate bushido" video. More people need to play this game. I remember loving the option to play in black and white so we could recreate that oldschool samurai movie feel. These games rocked hard!

  • Yeah maybe I was a little too harsh. It's a game that's very close to my heart. There is so much stuff to explore and experiment with. The weapons. The ability to run from stage to stage in story mode. The 100 slash mode (which is freakishly hard). For a debut of a new series that also was original in it's approach, Bushido Blade was really awesome (once you have mastered the controls).

I really appreciate that Ben reviewed it, but I know he could have done it better. (I'm running out of words)

  • Oh god! That 100 slash mode will never be forgotten...that was insane!!!

  • Love it! Awesome stuff Ben :)

  • oh my god! VGTO is barry!

  • AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! IN my country, this is called "Mala uva" xDDDDD

  • Anyway, Ben is a lot more guapo that Barry Burton...

  • i love this game, the voice acting

is not as bad resident evil, i think the

first one is the best but the series was ashamed when it came to the xbox 360

as kengo legend of the nine but don't dare

play it because it is terrible!!!

    anyways good review!
