  • My first KISS show was at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis on December 11, 1977 during the Alive 2 tour. I remember it well! Amazing show.

  • I was at this tour in San Diego. This is not how our show started off. See those 4 mini towers there. Each member rose out of the floor in one.

  • This was my first concert when I was 12. Such a great memory-:)

  • Paul originally had a laser attaached to his head but they made him take it off after they said it could cause blindness.

  • they're trying their best in this show but the soul is not really there

  • why is this the only show recorded in 1979, and what is so special about largo?

  • @jimiele Largo is a suburb of Washington DC where the Capital Centre is located. Useally when most bands on tour made there way to the DC area they would play at this arena. Now they mainly play at the Verizon Center in downtown DC

  • I saw this tour in mid-August (14th), 1979. Nothing like KISS live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Astro-projection

    much like polititians.

    Make themselves gods over us.

Before you attack me..Please think about it.

  • . My mom was on the rag or something and refused to buy tickets to this. Houston TX October 79. I was pissed. Anyway... nice quality boot. Usually this show is in horrible condition.

  • well someone prefer hip hop

  • I actually saw this tour in Mobile AL. My friends and I rode this elevator with Gene and Paul nervous as hell ( 12 years old!! ) We were KISS freaks and here we were in the elevator with our hero's. Cool event in my life.

  • Bought a bootleg copy of this back in 1988 for $25.00. Billed as the last Peter Criss show with Kiss to that point... Not sure??

  • I saw this tour...first concert I ever saw. I was 17. I saw them at the Hampton Rhodes Coliseum...so that must have been either just before this concert shown here or right after since Maryland is just north of there.

  • @ksgant wow my first concert too.Nov 19, vancouver,I was 14,been to hundreds since but what a way to start.

  • THE TOUR THAT KILLED KISS!

  • The second song is Radioactive from Gene's solo album. I WISH THEY VIDEO TAPED A LOT MORE CONCERTS BACK THEN!!!! The DYNASTY tour was my FIRST!! AWESOME MEMORIES!!!!

  • does anyone know what kiss really stands for?

  • @1970chance ok, kiss doesn't stand for anything. the group wanted a name that no matter where you went in the world, you would know what it is, like pizza. everyone knows what a kiss is, right? they wanted originally to name the group the "f" word that rhymes with duck! they would name the albums-f--- you, f--- them, f--- the world, etc. they realized that it would not sell, lol!

  • @anna2k2 Well, in a way, KISS was a bad choice for a name, since the Swedish word "kiss" means "pee"...

  • Very Nice!!!

  • This tour (in Pontiac, MI) was my second KISS concert. I'd first seen them on the Alive II tour. I remember arriving at the Silverdome at 11AM because it was a "festival seating" show, meaning the floor area was standing only (no chairs) and first come, first closest to the stage. In the end, it was worth it because I ended up in the "second" row from center stage, but I don't know that today I'd wait nine hours to see *any* band.

(This particular KISS show was awesomeness personified, though!!)

  • This is so cool reading the comments of people who saw this as their first concert. This video is EXACTLY how I remember the show in Albuquerque December 1, 1979. Even watching it now, I remember being disappointed that they didn't look like the KISS of the Alive or Destroyer era.

  • 2nd song is Radio Active

  • all i can say is that the sydney show 11-22-80 was the best KISS show i've ever seen.

not a big fan of paul's frilly outfit on the largo show.

  • This should've been on Kissology!!

  • @baronbeyles it is on kissology 2 as one of the bonus disks!

  • @anna2k2 maybe on a different version, cause the one i have has a show from crazy nights tour as the bonus disc

  • ACE IS DRUNK OR DOPE,

  • @planetfunk69 I thought they never smoked or drank? Maybe it was just Gene

  • whats the 3rd song?

  • i wish i was alive to see this...

  • Yep..I was there...but in Greensboro 7.3.79

The second song is radioactive off of Genes solo effort.

Gene still plays the Gibson Grabber bass on this tour. Interesting.

3rd song move on from Pauls solo effort.

  • @gitardave Hi gitardave! Gene's playing the custom made Spector bass in this clip he used on the Love Gun tour in 1977.

  • Wow, they sound out of breath.

  • I saw this show as a kid in 79 at Madison Square Garden. I remember being obsessed with the Kiss Alive II era and the stage with the stairs on either side that was on my poster. When I got to the show I was heartbroken that it wasn't that stage and the costumes they used to wear. Oh well, they only played for only 90 minutes and even as a kid I knew that was complete BS, a headlining band needs to play for over two hours. They played Aces cover of Back in the New York Groove.

  • i thought ace used humbuckers

  • @keifer2014 yes, those are dimarzio super distortion humbuckers in his custom lp.

  • Ok, now i feel cheated. This was a bonus dvd for one of the kissology set and it was the complete concert i had on bootleg VHS... Thanks for posting this...

  • the best thing about the soundboard recording on this show,is that you get to hear how they really sounded..unlike the polished and edited alive1 &2..none the less..good or bad vocals..THEY ROCKED!!!!

  • wat was the second song called?

  • it is `radioactive` from gene simmons solo album!

  • @pingsdk kk, thanx :)

  • This is awesome They didn't have a great soundman, though! Thanks for Posting!

  • so so so bad. nice "background vocals" gene....

    suck it.

  • Yeah. I hate Genes backround and lead vocals during 1977 - 1983

  • best tour

  • If they were gonna play solo album songs I'd play tonight u belong to me by Paul, none by gene coz it just plain sucked, aces rip it out and peters thts the kinda sugar poppa likes

  • hey i know i have this tour footage, i just forgot frm where. was it on any of the Kissology sets?

thanks for uploading, GlamRock! the quality's great.

*& PAUL IS JUST TOO PRETTTTYYY* xD

  • my uncle took me to this show for my birthday. i was 7 and I am Black. It was the beginning to the best band in the world ,for me. I did everything Kiss

  • I still remember the commercial coming on ch. 20!

  • @bigwilly711 you right kiss was jank in the day, they reached us inner city blacks in a way other white bands couldnt. the was off the hook

  • KISS was the best band when they had Ace, Peter, Gene and Paul

  • ace's album was and is by far the best.

  • Gene's solo album sold the most.

    Ace's came in 2nd, followed by Paul's then Peter's.

These are sales to this day.

    I have them all.

My opinion. I think Ace's is the best.

  • I agree with you about Ace's solo album being the BEST.. Fractured Mirror is the Best on the album. Heck all the songs kick butt.

    Side 1 1. "Rip It Out" 3:39 2. "Speedin' Back to My Baby" 3:35 3. "Snow Blind" 3:54 4. "Ozone" 4:41 5. "What's on Your Mind?" 3:26

    side 2 -

    1. "New York Groove 3:01 2. "I'm in Need of Love" 4:36 3. "Wiped-Out" 4:10 4. "Fractured Mirror" 5:25

    BEST KISS SOLO ALBUM!!!!

  • `Paul's The Best!

  • ace sold the most and was the only one to have a number one hit

  • Your right.

    I checked Wikipedia.

  • Bollocks, Ace's sold most, then Pauls, then Genes then Peters. Get your facts right before you post dude.

  • @Livenlaff I got them when they came out and I think Ace's is the best too.

  • @Livenlaff u r wrong Aces sold more then gene paul and peter

Of the four, Frehley's album was the most successful ...FROM WIKIPEDIA.

  • @Livenlaff You are so right about Ace's being the best of the bunch!!!

  • @statman99 Easily the best NEW YORK GROOVE , cld be considered an all time great KISS song , i think Gene only thinks his old most to justify his ego

  • Ace se ifia en la parte del solo 3:08

  • Wow that's crazy! This show was the first concert that I ever went to, this actual show at the cap center. My cousin and I where both huge kiss fans, but we were only 8 years old, so our mom's had to take us to the show. Thinking back on it now, we were lucky to have moms that, when they where teenagers, would travel the east coast to see shows like Hendrix, the Beatles, Elvis, the Stones and were in to taking us to shows like this when we were kids.

  • I was lucky enough to be there for this show. I remember it like it was yesterday. It was my second concert ever and VERY loud. New Engalnd opened the show and KISS rocked that night. I will never forget it!

  • I hate the fact I wasn't alive during the time when it was all original Kiss members. I sadly was born in '93 and i'm probably the only fangirl of Kiss at my school. I'm totally in love with the guys like crazy...it's like i'm one of those Beatle fangirls but instead I act the way with Kiss. There my all time favorite band, i'm madly in love with Paul Stanley and my dad is going to take me to see them at D.C this October for my 16th birthday present, so i'm excited like crazy.

  • IM OBSEESED WITH THEM TOO IM ONLY 13 THEY ARE THE BEsT

  • They are the best! Kiss is the best band in the whole world! My friends think i'm crazy for liking Kiss and the fact that i'm in love with Paul lol. I can't wait to see them in concert i'll be yelling through the whole concert "I love you Paul!!!" lol

  • I SAY KISS WHEN I WAS 5 YEARS OLD

  • I was LUCKY I saw KISS the first time on Dec. 16, 1979 In Toledo, OH. The last time they played together the first time around. I still have my ticket stub 2 picks from Paul Stanley & 1 from Gene Simmons. I was only 14. My brother went to take me. He was 18. My Mother & Father paid for the tickets. SHOCKED ME.... My bedroom was wall to wall pics. I had the 4 full size motercycle posters and the 1976 poster up & every pic. out of a mag. I could find. Thoes were some of the best days.

  • OMG I envy you!! lol I wish I was a live during the 70s when Kiss was at there top. I would have been shocked to considering the fact that parents didn't like Kiss thinking there 'devil worshipers' *rolls eyes* I wish they would hurry up and make a time machine. I wanna go to the 70s and stay there, leave this era. I hate this era music, all I listen to is classic rock and my friends think i'm crazy for it.

  • If any thing I wish I had the money I have today back then. I would have been the worlds nuttiest kiss fan. I would have bout evey kiss thing out there. I was considering buying the meet & great package when they come around but I am debating on spending the $975 just to meet them for a few seconds. I only want to meet Paul & Gene. If Peter & Ace were included I would do it 100%. Well worth it then.

  • lol I would probably do the same. I try my best all the time to get as many Kiss stuff I can find, my room is either covered in Kiss or Beatle stuff since there my all time favorite bands. I have Kiss dolls that my dad got meh for my 13th birthday, Kiss clocks, Kiss motion lamp, Kiss posters, and I have there very first record which I bought at a flee market aswell as Destroyer and Paul's solo album. I love Kiss so much, everyone at school thinks i'm weird because of how I love them.

  • June 1979. My first time seeing KISS. Carolina Coliseum, Columbia, SC. KOTNTW was the opener, then Calling Dr. Love, then Radioactive. As for the stage, well, after the Alive II tour, KISS knew that the bar had been raised. Coming up from the bottom, a streamlined stage that they could run around on more, and Gene flying to the top of the stage for God of Thunder. TOP THAT! By the way, Whiteface opened.

  • I saw this show in Albuquerque just a few months later than this. Same stage and set list. I remember being very disappointed that the stage didn't look like the inside of Alive II. This seemed much smaller.

  • 2000 Views :)))))))

Thanks To All Watchers :) and enjoy
