. My mom was on the rag or something and refused to buy tickets to this. Houston TX October 79. I was pissed. Anyway... nice quality boot. Usually this show is in horrible condition.
I actually saw this tour in Mobile AL. My friends and I rode this elevator with Gene and Paul nervous as hell ( 12 years old!! ) We were KISS freaks and here we were in the elevator with our hero's. Cool event in my life.
I saw this tour...first concert I ever saw. I was 17. I saw them at the Hampton Rhodes Coliseum...so that must have been either just before this concert shown here or right after since Maryland is just north of there.
The second song is Radioactive from Gene's solo album. I WISH THEY VIDEO TAPED A LOT MORE CONCERTS BACK THEN!!!! The DYNASTY tour was my FIRST!! AWESOME MEMORIES!!!!
@1970chance ok, kiss doesn't stand for anything. the group wanted a name that no matter where you went in the world, you would know what it is, like pizza. everyone knows what a kiss is, right? they wanted originally to name the group the "f" word that rhymes with duck! they would name the albums-f--- you, f--- them, f--- the world, etc. they realized that it would not sell, lol!
This tour (in Pontiac, MI) was my second KISS concert. I'd first seen them on the Alive II tour. I remember arriving at the Silverdome at 11AM because it was a "festival seating" show, meaning the floor area was standing only (no chairs) and first come, first closest to the stage. In the end, it was worth it because I ended up in the "second" row from center stage, but I don't know that today I'd wait nine hours to see *any* band.

This is so cool reading the comments of people who saw this as their first concert. This video is EXACTLY how I remember the show in Albuquerque December 1, 1979. Even watching it now, I remember being disappointed that they didn't look like the KISS of the Alive or Destroyer era.
I saw this show as a kid in 79 at Madison Square Garden. I remember being obsessed with the Kiss Alive II era and the stage with the stairs on either side that was on my poster. When I got to the show I was heartbroken that it wasn't that stage and the costumes they used to wear. Oh well, they only played for only 90 minutes and even as a kid I knew that was complete BS, a headlining band needs to play for over two hours. They played Aces cover of Back in the New York Groove.
Ok, now i feel cheated. This was a bonus dvd for one of the kissology set and it was the complete concert i had on bootleg VHS... Thanks for posting this...
the best thing about the soundboard recording on this show,is that you get to hear how they really sounded..unlike the polished and edited alive1 &2..none the less..good or bad vocals..THEY ROCKED!!!!
If they were gonna play solo album songs I'd play tonight u belong to me by Paul, none by gene coz it just plain sucked, aces rip it out and peters thts the kinda sugar poppa likes
my uncle took me to this show for my birthday. i was 7 and I am Black. It was the beginning to the best band in the world ,for me. I did everything Kiss
Wow that's crazy! This show was the first concert that I ever went to, this actual show at the cap center. My cousin and I where both huge kiss fans, but we were only 8 years old, so our mom's had to take us to the show. Thinking back on it now, we were lucky to have moms that, when they where teenagers, would travel the east coast to see shows like Hendrix, the Beatles, Elvis, the Stones and were in to taking us to shows like this when we were kids.
I was lucky enough to be there for this show. I remember it like it was yesterday. It was my second concert ever and VERY loud. New Engalnd opened the show and KISS rocked that night. I will never forget it!
I hate the fact I wasn't alive during the time when it was all original Kiss members. I sadly was born in '93 and i'm probably the only fangirl of Kiss at my school. I'm totally in love with the guys like crazy...it's like i'm one of those Beatle fangirls but instead I act the way with Kiss. There my all time favorite band, i'm madly in love with Paul Stanley and my dad is going to take me to see them at D.C this October for my 16th birthday present, so i'm excited like crazy.
They are the best! Kiss is the best band in the whole world! My friends think i'm crazy for liking Kiss and the fact that i'm in love with Paul lol. I can't wait to see them in concert i'll be yelling through the whole concert "I love you Paul!!!" lol

I wanna go to the 70s and stay there, leave this era. I hate this era music, all I listen to is classic rock and my friends think i'm crazy for it.
If any thing I wish I had the money I have today back then. I would have been the worlds nuttiest kiss fan. I would have bout evey kiss thing out there. I was considering buying the meet & great package when they come around but I am debating on spending the $975 just to meet them for a few seconds. I only want to meet Paul & Gene. If Peter & Ace were included I would do it 100%. Well worth it then.
lol I would probably do the same. I try my best all the time to get as many Kiss stuff I can find, my room is either covered in Kiss or Beatle stuff since there my all time favorite bands. I have Kiss dolls that my dad got meh for my 13th birthday, Kiss clocks, Kiss motion lamp, Kiss posters, and I have there very first record which I bought at a flee market aswell as Destroyer and Paul's solo album. I saw this show in Albuquerque just a few months later than this. Same stage and set list. I remember being very disappointed that the stage didn't look like the inside of Alive II. This seemed much smaller.
'radioactive' and 'move on' are just lame. Don't know why they even played them... but whatever... This was my 1st concert too- amazing! St.Louis, Mo.
My first KISS show was at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis on December 11, 1977 during the Alive 2 tour. I remember it well! Amazing show.

I agree with you about Ace's solo album being the BEST.. Fractured Mirror is the Best on the album. Heck all the songs kick butt.
Side 1 1. "Rip It Out" 3:39 2. "Speedin' Back to My Baby" 3:35 3. "Snow Blind" 3:54 4. "Ozone" 4:41 5. "What's on Your Mind?" 3:26
side 2 -
1. "New York Groove 3:01 2. "I'm in Need of Love" 4:36 3. "Wiped-Out" 4:10 4. "Fractured Mirror" 5:25
