@TheGod666slayer 2004 clean title type s with under 100k miles would be a steal if thats what you saw. remember most of the time you get what you pay for so be careful
@TheGod666slayer I have an 04 Type-S and have toyed with selling it to get an S2k. It has 125k miles and has never had an issue ever. I would probably ask about 6500-6000 for it. So if it's a type-s with similar mileage, you are in the ballpark for a clean higher mileage type-s.
i assume it's stock. put an AEM V2 on it. it creates a really nice sound in the engine. from what i know, it also adds another 18 or so hp. best of all, you'll hear the vtec way louder than it is when it's stock. i got one on my 05 type s. love it!
You guys are wack, for pretty much a stock car, it's not "fast" but it's pretty quick for what it is. When my friend owned this car, it had a cold air and a 2.38 tanabe exhaust. He sold this S and got an IS300.
uh, ya they do dumbass, it creates mroe airflow. look at like k&n's website, they actually have dyno proven numbers. now before you open your mouth know what yourtalkin about
yeah thats why nascar drivers use air filters from walmart.. of course it makes a difference, but not a lot , and it depends on the rest of the car too...
generally, the bigger your displacement, the more power you can potentially gain from an intake. for instance, i drive a tC(2.4L) and i prob wouldnt gain much more than 10 increased hp with intake, header and exhaust... as opposed to my friends mustang GT which would gain like 40 from the same mods. either way, intakes by themselves do in fact add a bit of power, as well as increase engine responsiveness and efficiency for regular driving.
@viper2788 No, just the shittier the original intake design, the more you can gain with an intake. Mustangs traditionally have very restrictive breathing tubes (count the catalytic converters on a stock fox body) so they will benefit more from removing those restrictions. A lot of cars have efficient intake designs and will gain nothing or actually lose power with a "CAI."
most cars i know come stock with those one sided paper filters and smaller, non-straight tubes. therefore you will pretty much always have gains with a cai... whether any significant or not. only thing that may reduce power may be a short ram intake on a really hot day, as stock filters usually have pipings leading to the fender or front grill for cooler air.
@viper2788 Intake temps (IATs) are more important than the very small amount of vacuum that's possibly produced by a panel filter and a few bends. The reason the bends are there, by the way, is because they've done research on where to extract the coldest air (typically there is a snorkel or two) for the intake charge. The stock intake on most cars that I know of is only restrictive at the very top of the rev range or to a built motor that requires higher flow than a stock intake can provide.
Lemme just clarify guys, I have an 06 type s, and u won't make any power at all with a SRI once it starts heatsoaking. CAI is the way to go. I love my Injen CAI. Btw, if u look on clubrsx, there was a test conducted to prove which is better, stock box vs sri vs cai. In decending order from best to worst: cai, box, sri
Actually they both have exactly the same amount of power, what changed was the way they measured Horse power. In 05 it would have been 210, but in 2006 its 201. Technically speaking they are both exactly the same. But they differ from the 02-04.
That thing sounds fuckin nice!
