This team definately was as offensively capable as the 95 team, but the differences in the defense is so baffling I don't know why people think the two teams are comparable.

I laugh when people say the players are so much bigger and faster now. that's true when comparing it to like the 50's and 60's, but Fryar was 6' 200 lbs and ran a 4.2 something forty.

i'm not sure this isn't better then the 95 team...but imagine this...turner gill is the prototypical WCO or Spread offense QB now

Turner Gill wasn't much of a runner though, he was a pocket passer that ran the triple option once in a while

last time i checked he's a better athlete then chase at mu, or todd at KU, or gram at TTU. And the WCO and Spread don't require you to be able to run as a qb(though he could when needed) montana ran yes, but it was usually off a scramble and gill could make the throws to do it.

he could run the Air Raid(the offense texas tech runs) but he couldn't run a spread option.

Yes he was. Turner could run. That's why Osborne recruited him.

Gill was a very good runner as a Husker he carried 290 times for 1317 yards and 18 Touchdowns. I wouldn't say he is better than Frazier,Crouch,Gdowski,Taylor or Frost in the running department but as a complete package Gill was a damn good QB

Great player but a pass first guy thats all. It's a misconception that he was a runner

@statman29neb He was better than frost and crouch he was a better passer it was master with the pitch him and frazier are the best.

One of the best offenses Nebraska has ever seen. Right next to the 95 team.
