  • what the actual fuck did I just watch.

  • Yeah that's some great advertising Nintendo.

One minute of a pretentious independent film, 3 seconds of the actual game.

  • Comment removed

  • @MultiPrismatic pretantious film? There was stuff in the room transforming into awesome shit and then the people on stage beating the crap out of it. The point is that all this amazing stuff was happening but then the dude with the gameboy was too engrossed in golden sun to notice.

  • got this game when I was 10 or something and didn't finish it for over 5 years... hehehe.... best game i ever played though. finished the second one within 3 years though lol

  • WTF!

  • I love how all these ads have nothing to do with the games in the slightest.

  • You don't get the Chandelere till Dark Dawn.

  • this is why i dont go to musicals.

  • Nicely played, camelot. When I saw this commercial some years ago, I didn't even know how is it even connected to the aspect of alchemy, the elements, or even anything Golden Sun-related, for that matter. Now, when you summon crystallux, you see the sequence where he reforms himself from the glass shards lying on the stage, and this commercial explains why.

Also, ten fucking years, and I didn't even know the very first Golden Sun location introduced was, in fact, Belinsk.

    Camelot = epic troll.

  • The frak does her dress change colour?

  • I love how the ad doesn't have to do anything with the game :D

  • @calveras86 it does in the third game

  • 10 years... and now that dragon appears in the third game

  • what is the name of the orchestra piece ?

  • @tapeafriend It's a remix of "In the Hall of the Mountain King". It seems no-one knows that's the name of the song, but if you play it just about everyone will recognize it.

  • @tapeafriend "watch?v=xrIYT-MrVaI" is the original song. It's called "In the Hall of the Mountain King". It has to be one of my favorite songs in life! lol

  • this. is. the best commercial.

    ever.

  • maybe Camelot didnt plan to use Crystallux at that time, but they based their "Ultimate Summon" of this commercial. Also i think this is a commercial for Gameboy Advance with some Golden Sun references.

  • Now THIS is interesting. If this commercial came out before Golden Sun was released... that means Camelot has been planning to use Crystallux ever since then.

  • @LinkDaBoss wait whats crystallux??

  • @youssef11223344 A summon in the 3rd game.

  • Even though this commercial makes sense NOW what did this have to do with Golden Sun all those years ago? o-o

    lolol!!

This is still an epic commercial either way (x

  • i kinda wish they would make the games into movies. with the right actors and effects it could be pretty epic.

  • Comment removed

  • This is a Golden Sun commercial? It has nothing to do with the game wtf!!!!!

  • creepy.. i dont get it

  • I thought Crystallux wanted to protect her. Why is he attacking her?

    I confoozed. x_@

  • and yet this commercial, at the time had absolutely nothing to do with olden sun. (i was connfused as to what was being advertised at first, till I saw the chandelier dragon and thought, oh crystalaux! yeah

  • Wow lol I just now relised thats the dragon in golden sun 3.

  • I'm glad the chandelier dragon lives on in the latest Golden Sun game.

  • And ten years later and it still hardly makes sense. Crystallux and the opera house setting are the only elements of this old commercial that made it into one of the games. WTF Camelot? WTF?

  • I don't get it.

Honestly, I've played both games (not dark dawn yet) dozens of times, and I don't get it.

Thought it DOES make orchestras look almost interesting.

  • @HackedGlitch265 well, I'm not sure if this was something intended for the original games but didn't make it in, but the chandelier dragon is a summon in Dark Dawn and this opera house is the site of a minor boss battle.

  • I didn't know Kraden could fight with cymbals!!!

  • just started playing this game.. :)

  • remeber when i was 11 if first saw this comercial it wat EPIC back then still a beauty tho.

  • The orchestra is badass!

XD Especially the old guy on the symbols!

  • testament to why Nintendo stopped making commercials

  • My skin tingled from start to finish.

  • Jesus, I've never seen anything like this before. Golden Sun dev team are GENIUSES

  • It's official, everything's cooler when In The Hall of the Mountain King is used in it.

  • song?

  • CRYSTALUX!!!!! Exact same opera house exact same appearance. This commercial explains why in his summon he is forming himself out of broken glass

  • So this is what happens if you try to summon Crystallux when under influence of a Dream Leaf...

  • They should have a movie revolving around the first 2....

  • Guys....I don't think this was made with Belinsk in mind. It seems more likely that they came up with Belinsk opera house as a shout out to this commercial and their longtime fans who would recognize it.

That being said, I LOVE this commercial. A really clever way of showing how awesome a portable RPG will make your life. I actually imagined something kinda like this while playing GS during a boring church service. An angel statue became an epic monster and battled the preacher.

    Good times.

  • @Mperce Actually I think it was made with that in mind. I mean pokemon had planned 12 years in advance why couldn't Golden Sun. Besides this was to much detail to go into for no reason, look at the other ads they are short and simple.

  • @AsculaTheNinga the makers of Golden Sun had said countless times that the original two GBA games were only a minor "back-story" to what was coming.

I just hope it doesnt take 10years for every new game O_o

  • @AsculaTheNinga Just wondering... where did Pokemon plan 12 years ahead?

  • @satansam One thing was the pokemon munna in the origional games, red blue yellow, a lady at mount moon says that she wishes there was a pink pokemon with a floral pattern which munna is

  • @AsculaTheNinga Oh that's smart.

  • ...But Belinsk didn't get created until AFTER the Golden Sun Event..... Mindfuck much?

  • @ShadowRobn Preplanned

  • All that for a Gameboy game? how dissapointing

  • @92abcdefg

    Your Mom's dissapointing! XD

  • @bombkirby

For all the shite people say on youtube, this is still the first 'your mother' insult I've gotten. How old are you?

  • nice

  • Wow this ad had almost nothing to do with Golden Sun. The first one at least.

  • Wow this ad had almost nothing to do with Golden Sun.

  • So I'm guessing this would be the Belnisk Opera House! lol XD

Now that I know the back story and progression to Crystallux, (never saw this commercial) I have to admit that making that guy a summon in Dark Dawn has to be one of the most amazing things they did for the game!

  • It is true that 10 years for this comercial to make sence but DAMMM it is cool as hell even if it didnt made sence xD

  • Because this has everything to do with the first Golden Sun. At least they brought the dragon thingie back for Dark Dawn, but still, you'd think they'd have made the commercial have something to do with the game it's advertising as opposed to a sequel that hadn't been made yet.

  • this commercial would be more suited vor a Castlevania game, i'm totally missing the link with golden sun.

  • Crstylux looks fucking awesome in this video

    Fav summon next 2 exlipse

  • You know, the conductor lady almost seems to be like the Atalanta summon when the violinists shoot the flaming arrows! And the way Crystallux looks in this commercial looks so marvelous, almost like a real chandelier...

  • ...NOW that Crystallux summon makes sense! 0_o

  • so to put it correctly i took camelot 10 years to realize one hell of a nice summon was in their "makes no sense" commercial? :P

  • This seems more like a general GBA advertisement (that happens to have golden sun in screen) rather than a Golden sun specific advertisement. I'd be willing to bet that the crystal dragon summon was a relative afterthought for Dark Dawn.

Either that, or Camelot thinks plotlines out further than Hideo Kojima.

  • @Kalancodragon I honestly believe that almost the whole entire series was already thought out before the first installment was finished. It takes alot of work to create the storyboards themselves, considering they never truly made the end to GS make any sense and continued it in GS2. GS3 was probably already in their minds when the first installment was released. The crazy thing is is that GS3 is equal to about the same amount of gameplay as both GS and GS2 put together, which would explain alot

  • It ain't over until the fat dragon shatters.

  • I never understood when i was younger what this had to do with the game but if i play dark dawn i will?

  • @weo1weo1weo1 Yeah, you will.

  • What is the song in this?

  • @senorlundy

"In the Hall of the Mountain King" by Edvard Grieg

  • @Redajin Thanks so much, this has been stuck in my head for months

  • @senorlundy

    You're quite welcome :)

  • Talk about Massive Forshadowing

  • OH MY GOD.

  • Comment removed

  • That old man with the cymbals always did remind me of Kraden lol... Did anyone else have an OMG moment when they saw the opera house and automatically thought of this commercial? I sure did

  • Ah,, Crstalux. My most used offensive summon. Second most used summon period (I use the healing one more often, if I can) I just love that dragon! And here I thought I couldn't find a summon I like more than Eclipse... :D

  • Wow... an American commercial for GS1 gave the developers the idea for Crystallux and the whole Belinsk Opera scene in GS3. The granddaughter who believes in Crystallux's existence is even wearing a red dress...

Not to mention that this commercial is cool and creative -anyways-...

  • The woman in the red dress also makes an appearance in Dark Dawn. Beautiful commercial sense or no sense.

  • Comment removed

  • i saw this ad a long time ago, i finally know what that dragon is

  • i loved how they incorporated this into dark dawn

  • And now years later after its release the commercial now makes a little sense, in describing what is Golden Sun XD.

  • WTF?!crystal dragon in real!!!

  • It's about time this ad made sense. I wonder why they decided to hold back on Crystallux until Dark Dawn?

  • I cant believe it, this commercial should have been for Dark Dawn

  • @pockeystick it.. was...

  • Crystallux+Belinsk+Opera House=10 year-old ad that finally makes sense!

  • @ladatree If only they where beastmen! XD

  • In this ad the dragon looks like it's a foe but in the game it's actually a friend

  • Never thought I'd see this old commercial happening in my game

  • I saw this the other day for the first time and thought it was funny. Then I was playing dark dawn and watched as the scene played out in front of me. I couldn't believe it. I had one of those jaw dropping moments.

  • So this TV Ad was made in the opera house in belinsk before the Golden sun?? MINDFUCK @__@!!!

  • As soon as I saw the opera house in Dark Dawn, I was like...no way. Then they mentioned the chandelier dragon, and I couldn't help but laugh since I had just commented a few weeks ago about how it's such a cool commercial despite having nothing to do with Golden Sun!

  • Old cymbal guy is bad ass.

  • Took what? 10 years for this commercial to make sense.

  • @CheesySanchez no it just took it 10 years for this commercial to be even MORE awesome!

  • @CheesySanchez Best. Brick joke. Ever.

  • @CheesySanchez what do you mean with that?

  • @Garrador This is a commercial for Golden Sun 1 (2001), whereas in the latest golden sun dark dawn (2010) it features this opera house with the chandelier dragon as a summon.

  • @CheesySanchez until Crystallux lol

  • I don't remember that commercial

  • When they close-up on that girl's face, I melt. She is so hot.

  • Both the woman in red and the crystal chandelier dragon appear in Dark Dawn. In the Belinsk opera house. She has a few lines, and the dragon joins as a summon: Crystallux Dragon.

  • That's... that's in Belinsk... right?

  • Guys, before you think this ad is stupid and completely irrelevant for Golden Sun, you are wrong. You may have noticed the comments already but, play Golden Sun: Dark Dawn and you'll eventualy understand what this commercial ment all along!

Its a scary coinsidence that my friend showed me this video one day before I found out what it really ment, asking me what Golden Sun was, and then telling me that this didn't help at all. I knew I had seen that dragon somewere a LOOONG time ago.

  • @Spiz44 It doesn't mean a damn thing. They looked upon their old commercials and made a summon out of it because they realized that this made no fucking sense. It's a cool summon but there's no meaning at all

  • @ThisIsACoolGuy Rule of thumb-- if it's awesome and unique, it doesn't need to make sense.

  • @Spiz44 That can't be a coincidence lol.

  • i knew once i got that summon that i have seen it somewhere

  • I never saw this ad...wow, I cant belive the opera house and Crystallux came from an old ad. Camelot is truly awesome

  • Why, Crystallux, we didn't see you until Dark Dawn. Good to see you. You do some good damage.

  • holy shit ² i just entered in belinsk theatre and heard of this dragon that turned into a chandeller!!!, i remembered this ad right away ! camelot has the bigger epic win of all time!!

  • Holy Shit! I was just in the theatre in Belinsk and when they said something about the chandalier being a dragon, I remember this commercial! FUCKIN AWESOME!!!

  • ...they turned the chandelier dragon from the advert into an actual summon.

    I officially love Camelot.

  • Comment removed

  • I wish the game was like how the commercial is

  • @emadtheman they made a scene in dark dawn where you go to an opera house and get a summon tablet that has the crystal dragon summon in it

    yeah for references :P

  • lol that was EPICNESS

  • i miss this tv ads you knoW like the n64 commercials, and all that creativity noWa days all its hype a trailer its the name of the game some fast clips a fade out and the date, Wheres the passion dude :)

  • So apparently random shit going on in an opera now has to do with Golden Sun? Terrible commercial, tells you nothing about the game.

  • @mjc0961 As true as that might be... something from this commercial does appear in Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, which was a nice touch. And sorry for the mild spoilers :P

  • Oh my gosh great commercial epic music and something deep down is telling me that they areand need to make another golden sun for the 3DS that will literally blow your mind

  • What?

  • Minus the CHWZZZZZZTTTT sound effects towards the end that was the best thing ever.

  • I got chills when the arrows went past her like the Atlanta summon

  • i more expected a random perfume to pop-up

  • holy shit, nostalgia

  • If Nintendo had any sense, all of their advertisements would be this cool.

  • 15 dislikes? How can anyone not like this? Seriously, wow.

  • @Pr0t0dude who doesn't know that game and therefore doesn't give a fuck of an hollywood-harry potter style stinky adv.

    16 dislikes

  • Awesome how they took that dragon at the end and turn it into an actual summon

  • I never knew that there was a Golden Sun advert. I just bought it after reading a good review on BBC interactive. I hope Nintendo make another one for the new game

  • Culture advanced.

  • Cristal Dragon appeared in this comerecial for GS BUT he is in the GS Dark dawn

Maybe programers like the idea of cristal dragon an they included it in the new GS

  • I NEVER saw this commercial. I bought the game out of whim and ended up loving it, but I never saw the commercial. I didn't think it was possible, but Golden Sun seems even more awesome after watching this.

XD I'm replaying GS and GS:TLA right now, hoping to beat both before GS:DD comes out. LONG way to go...

  • Y'know, I never actually saw this commercial. >_> I've never seen a GS ad, period.

Anyone else think the conductor looks like Olivia Dunham from Fringe?

  • "Culture Advanced" indeed. This commercial was the ONLY reason why i bought Golden Sun. i didnt know anything about it or whatnot; it was the bloody ad on TV that made my day. one of the best decisions i've ever made.

And even better, the chandelier is a new summon. I cannot believe how much camelot either liked that ad or looked back and thought "hey, that's was an awesome idea. let's make it better by making it a mini-azul summon" (3 venus, 2 mercury btw)

  • LOL @ this advert.

Because that Crystal Dragon at the end is now summon in Golden Sun Dark Dawn. I guess Camelot really like it. lol

  • what's the name of that music?

  • @Garrador In the Hall of the Mountain King.

  • Gotta love fanservice from the past.

  • Crystal Dragon summon now rules more than everything =P

  • NOTE: The Chandelier dragon at the end of the trailer is now a new summon in Golden Sun Dark Dawn called crystal dragon so thats interesting

  • @aquaguy34 Yeah I just saw a video of that and immediatly look for this very commercial. That's pretty cool of Camelot

  • @aquaguy34 I know. They even have the opera house, and a legand behind it. "The dragon loved the music so much, that it transformed itself into a Chandelier so it would never miss another show.

  • @sailormoonfan224 So trippy @_____@ major coincidence... And really clever on the games' producers' parts!

  • @aquaguy34 Crystalux. sir. :)

  • @aquaguy34 Oddly enough you get it an opera house like this one too. And I thought the name was Crystallux or something to that effect?

  • @aquaguy34 I just noticed that last night. I recognized that dragon immediately!

  • @aquaguy34 crystallux to be precise :)

  • @aquaguy34

Actually, it was called Crystallux. Just sayin.

  • @aquaguy34

Not just that, look closely at the Belinsk Opera House's chandelier. It is shaped identically to the commercial. Not just that, but the two in the same room say it is a dragon. Plus the room itself looks much like the commercial's.

  • @NulMyre I realized that when i played the game

  • @aquaguy34 Its actually called "Crystallux"

  • "This has nothing to do with the game" is both true and false. Actually you may think the arrows and everything looked like atlanta, but that's not what the commercial is trying to imply. It's just showing the maestro controling the orchestra in a epic battle like we control the players in the game thus explaining "role-playing" as Golden Sun was one of the first RPGs on the GBA system. Other launching games for the GBA had similar commercials saying Advanced *something*, Advanced Life.

  • como se llama esa cansion de fondo pero con las voses tambien

  • I've never seen a golden sun commercial, I just loved the games. But that was beyond bad-assery. If only real life could be like that. Shoot, I'd be happy to be in the audience when that happened

  • One of the best uses for In the Hall of the Mountain King by Grieg... *nods in agreement with herself*

Also, using musical instruments as weapons is epic. EPIC, I say.

How much do you think it cost Nintendo to make this commercial?

I also just noticed after nine years that her dress changes in the end.... I'm totally observant. :P

  • Guy with the cymbal ftw

  • I love how it has nothing to do with the actual game.

  • Correlation to the game; 0.

    Epicness; 10.

  • God The Amercian trailers of goldensun are awfull, yer im soo excited to see the next shitty one
