the story has an underlaying message which is about the freemason, new order and christanity including the british rule in india. the book is much better than the film. Does anyone know where I can watch this film on the net?
As my genetic father named me after this indian child that followed the lama, I really should get around to reading the book. However, he knew before he named her, that she was on a spiritual journey that would fulfill many biblical prophecies. He knew her name was written in every land and nation.
Juan, not every book written or movie made before 1970 was intended to be "racist." You guys need to get over yourselves. Didn't you ever play "dress-up" when you were a kid? Good God, the "pc" thing is ridiculous!!!!!
The young Dean Stockwell ("KIM") starred in "Boy With Green Hair" and "Gentlemen's Agreement," as well-- both very progressive films. The 2nd won the BPic Oscar. The 1st got it's director blacklisted. Young Dean's message: "War is bad for children."
@slicksteve1943 There isn't ANYTHING racist IN THE BOOK (matter of fact, much to the contrary: there us a very deep LOVE for India), and there isn't a trace of imperialism in the film. It does not "celebrate" or exalt the British Empire: it's just one of the usual, banal Hollywood adaptations, from a book written while the Raj existed, that's all. RATHER, why does the film stop in YT after video 2??!!! or, I am missing something??!!!

There is nothing at all racist about this movie and such comments simply show your ignorance.

@slicksteve1943 Of course it's racist, it celebrates imperialism and the Empire and has white actors in blackface playing Indians.
