My 2 year old is fascinated with carwashes, and he LOVES this video. He makes his own carwash with washcloths. I heard him the other night scrubbing a toy car, saying The Sound of Clean!
I was the exact opposite when I was your son's age I was really scared of them especially the first time I been in one. The process took I'd say about three minutes that time but to me it felt longer. I was four when I finally was no longer scared of them.
my favorite part was when the car got washed.

when i was 6 i used to love car washes and i would wet my toy cars with liquid soap and use a wash cloth as a mitter

the one i go to is a touchless car wash, works great, ive always been skeptical about them but they work!
just remember to bring a towel to wipe of the rest of the water.
i saw a lady just drive off without even drying the car only to follow a dirty dump truck which coated her car in crap again...
