thanks so much for this video. i am a beginner and i practice rudiments and paradiddles alllllll the time. everyday. but i don't know how to get faster. is it just practice and practice and practice or is there any trick that i don't know? (sorry, i'm german but i hope you could understand me...)
Are paradiddles to help learn roll control? I'm a beginner and just got my kit. I know the basic rock beat, and then can just pretty much play by ear. Just wondering if I'm not trying to play professionally, would learning rudiments be beneficial?
I've been practicing these hardcore lately. There's a few good exercises you can use too to strengthen your left lead and right lead at the same time which is what I'm doing, it's a lot easier to perform on a set because you can lay out the accents on toms more clearly.
Try doing this when practicing too, it might help: Rlrrll Rlrrll Rlrr Lrllrr Lrllrr Lrll *Repeat*
Also, don't try to actually bounce the strokes it'll start to sound sloppy when you speed it up, actually stroke every hit.
you should always use wrist when doing diddles to make them clean and also you never let your pinkie come off the stick it's just bad technique and it helps stick control
good advice. i like that you said to keep the angle of the sticks level and not to angle them downward as you play faster, that was something i'd been doing and i'm playing faster now that i'm not doing that
by not turning on the snare you can hear the diddles more clearly in order to know your playing them right, alot drummers tend to press into the drum to get the diddle when actually they need to open thier diddles

u speed up too fast when doing the diddles, you should gradually go faster, not go slow and then straight to full paced

I am a big fan of paradiddles, it's a very simple basic rudiment, but you can get alot out of them.
