After they had a commercial break Ryan explained that Paula was confused... something about a dress rehearsal. Anyway, rumors started to go around that perhaps she was on something.

@msjordanxx Well if I remember right, on that night each contestant sang two songs and after everyone sang one song, the judges went down the line and critiqued them all, and would do the seam after the second one. After the first song, Paula began commenting on both performances (because she watched rehearsal and just got confused since Idol has never done it that way before) and of course everyone accused her of being on drugs.

It proved one thing, the judges have prejudged the contestant before hand. It was a lame excuse that she was looking at David's notes when she said then made a positive comment about his performance. As for Ryan defending; If there isn't a fire, why put it out? Paula has been in the business for years she should be able to take the heat.
