  • 6:37-6:48 LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!

  • What a hoot! This is so good, it seems too short. Give a "thumbs-up" if you agree!

  • Is that Lea Michele who marries Princeton?

  • @Skerbie yep

  • @Skerbie yup!

  • What does that joke mean: "I think he was a nine, Papa."?

I know it is based out of Tevye saying "Mine, mine, mine" but what is "Nine" in reference to? Also, what is Jumpers and why would the kid hang out there?

(I have seen Avenue Q but not Fiddler on the Roof, if that makes a difference)

  • @seankeenanoneil "...in Nine..." it's another musical. :)

  • XD hahahahahahahahaha!

  • oy vey!

  • Who puppeteered Princeton while Johnny T was puppeteering Rod in this video? :o

  • @DC11961 It's Barrett Foa!

  • DO YOU LOVE MEEEEE...?

    ... no.

  • I love it especially the part with the puppets vs. the humans... and the matchmaker part that rod sings and the part with the president art and the beginning with trekkie.. and the times reviews guy the part when everone goes do do do do do!! and they are all in a line.. OKAY... I LOVE IT ALL!!!!

  • I love it, I love it, I love it!!! Matchmaker, matchmaker! It's great! I wish I could see them in person (especially Rod!)!

  • the girl in the orange/brownish outfit is lea michele

  • I could watch this all day, every day XDDD.

  • Feygele means gay in yiddish

  • I wonder if the pink puppet in this show was an early design concept for Kate Monster that no one could bear to throw out when they decided to make her a single-rod puppet with light brown fur.

  • Is that Lea Michele playing Shprintze?

  • @matika1000 Sounds like it to me too! She might have been in the revival of Fiddler at the time this was made...?

  • @matika1000 Yes, is she

  • @matika1000 Yes it is Lea as Shprintze. She played this role while still being in the workshops of Spring Awakening and she was a senior in High School!!!

  • 5/5. Would watch again.

  • God, it's been YEARS since I saw this! Still awesomely hilarious; thanks for posting!

  • Wu is this not a full production

  • one person got bad reviews from ben brantley :)

  • " Hannukah Eve do you love me ?" "NO!" lol

  • xD I laughed so hard I cried. THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER.

  • The on person who dislikes this has never lived on Avenue Jew.

  • I....LOVE.....THIS....SO MUCH

  • Do you love me?

    No

  • This is so great, I plotzed.

  • Comment removed

  • @LushedMonkey It's not really a stab. I'm a hardcore Idina fan, and I laughed at that. I bet Idina would laugh at the joke. Don't take things so seriously.

  • lol couldnt stop laughing after "fauther princeton and i wana get married" "ok let me make this brief" "due to tradi- yeh what ever go ahead."

  • "Do you love me?" "No" I was dying after this

  • Lea Michele.... :D

  • Can I cut the one that made the Idina Menzel stab!?!?!

  • @LushedMonkey It's a fair critisism. She is not green.

  • @warjikin Durr, Idina was painted green.

  • @muppetlover16 Yes...yes she was.

  • @LushedMonkey ...it wasn't a cut towards Idina Menzel...it just says...Idina Menzel...not green..meaning people play characters they are not on broadway...like all those in Fiddler who are not really Jewish

  • this. is BETTER THAN PIZZA!!

  • OMG I just got this: they go to Avenue Jew after leaving their home. That's y there's just two daughters. Lol the character I played married Pinceton and ironicly i've seen the Avenue and been in the Jew

  • Oh I think I get it, Tevye and family moved from Anatevka and ended up here!

  • Comment removed

  • BA in yiddish? Ohmigod. And just when i thought avenue Q lyrics couldn't get better...

  • @BroadwayAddams yeah, "who the hell majors in that??" XD

  • All in favor of a full length (two hours or so) Avenue Jew??

  • "Do you love me?"

    "No."

    BEST PART!

  • MIND. BLOWN XDDD

  • 'Matchmaker' was made for Rod. He sang it so well!

Ps: If Dubya was the cause of homosexuals not being able to be married, I'll be really mad. What's the difference?! I mean really!

    ggggggggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

  • @Anocoals Well to be technical it's a state level issue, but Dubya was opposed to gay marriage.

  • @joshcripe42 Doma is a federal amendment severly restricting gay and state rights. We used to have similar policies about money where a state could choose to recognize the currency of another state. It was a bloody disaster.

  • Oh my GOSH! I loved Rod before I saw this, and NOW I WANT TO SEE HIM IN THINGS BESIDE HIS SUIT MORE! LIKE WHAT HE WEARS IN THIS PLAY-THING!

  • THE PUPPETTTTS! THE PUPPETS!

    Oh God, this is great.

  • made my day

  • 0:21 reminds me of the muppets

  • @Theboxofme

ohm nom nom nom nom nom :D

  • Comment removed

  • @muppetlover16 Only thing missing is Trekkie singing "If I were a Rich Man"

  • Comment removed

  • @Theboxofme Kate Monster looks like Little Red Riding Hood here, but she's still cute!

  • "Lazar Wolf you're a Feygele?"

Effin HILARIOUS!!! Why couldn't this a whole play? I'd certainly pay to see it a few times.

  • Comment removed

  • What does she say after "Who the hell is this kid"? I can't understand what she says.

  • @Ryuzaki40 "I think he was in Nine, Papa."

  • I was waiting for Trekkie monster to sing his own version of If I Were A Rich Man using his favorite thing, porn.

  • @monsta1992 HAhahaha yeah, 'If I were a porn star'!!!

  • @monsta1992 "If I Was A Porn Star"?

  • This is awesome

  • XDD THAT WAS AWSUME :D the do you lov me part made me lol

  • How often do Broadway shows spoof each other at the Minskoff? In The Heights spoofed Les Miz two years ago.

  • "Do you loooove me?"

    "...No"

  • lea Michele?

  • @MelodyMaddie520 I totally forgot she was in this show!!!! But she was back in the day before Spring Awakening

  • @Jessica6119

yeah! She went to my camp too:)

first she was in les mis, then ragtime, then fiddler.

  • @MelodyMaddie520 Yes. She was in the 2004 Broadway revival of Fiddler. She was Shprintze and Chava (at different times).

  • I dont remember that judge puppet from Avenue Q. Can someone help me out?

  • @AustinLikesPepsi That "judge puppet" is actually a George W. Bush puppet.

  • @AustinLikesPepsi it was a new puppet. There was no judge that appeared from memory.

  • I remember watching this in middle school, I don't think I got half the jokes... It's hilarious now though!

  • genius x3 I wish they would make an DVD with the original and stuff like that as extra.....the england musical ends 30th october this year and an German like me will probably never see it again :(

  • at the end did it not sound like.....

"Avenue Q and Hitler on the Roof"

    Bit ironic?

  • I love this so much! It had the original Avenue Q cast, AND Lea Michele of Spring Awakening and Glee (3:52) and the girl from Into the Woods who plays Little Red Riding Hood who's name is slipping from me right now (6:38). I loved the references back and forth between the two shows, not to mention the jabs made at other Broadway shows. Great job! Kol HaKavod!

  • @TheSweetness15 Holy SHIT!!!!!!! That IS Lea!!

  • @TheSweetness15 The "Little Red Riding Hood" was Molly Ephraim.

  • EPIC!

  • Greatest thing. Ever.

  • Thanks for putting this back up :)

  • what do you do with a B.A. in Yiddish? who the hell major's in that?

    Do you love me?

    ...No

best musical ever. Should turn into full show.

  • if only broadway singers could sing

  • I luvs you more Avenue Q! :D

  • Actually, there's a nice double entendre there....the reference was to the Tsar, as in the leader of the country (in this case a puppet of George Bush), which is consistent with the whole "Fiddler on the Roof" theme. I'd never notice, though, that Russian Jews referring to the Czar in Yiddush as "Tsar" would also be calling him "narrow", as in narrow-minded, restrictive, etc.

  • im israeli so i speak fluent hebrew

tzar means narrow but u probably just misunderstood a what they actually said and fagalah is not actually a word in hebrew its actually more of an english word it derives from fag and its just changed to sound funny but its\ might be a word in yiddish which is another language that jews spoke in europe in the 1900's. Yiddish is similar to German. I dont speak Yiddish but my grandma does.

  • Fagelah is Yiddush slang for a homosexual. Tzar is the same word as Czar, the former ruler of Russia before the Russian Revolution and the rise of the USSR.

I'm curious who sings the part of Jewish American Princeton in this video. The part was sung in the original cast by John Tartaglia, who also performed as Rod. However, in this video, there are two different actors playing the parts....Tartaglia is playing Rod (the gay puppet who wants to marry Lazar Wolf).

  • @samiam520

I think it's Barrett Foa. He was the understudy for most of the male puppet characters starting in December 2003, so at the time of this show he did play Princeton sometimes.

  • What was the verse at 7:30? I can't hear it very well.

  • This is so funny! But I hope they warned the kids that they shouldn't say some of the words the adults and puppets used. Can somebody tell me what all those Hebrew words mean?

  • @antsamthompson9 shalom means peace and hello

  • @ofek3 What about the other words? Like "Tzar" and "fagalah?

  • @antsamthompson9 im israeli so i speak fluent hebrew

tzar means narrow but u probably just misunderstood a what they actually said and fagalah is not actually a word in hebrew its actually more of an english word it derives from fag and its just changed to sound funny but its\ might be a word in yiddish which is another language that jews spoke in europe in the 1900's. Yiddish is similar to German. I dont speak Yiddish but my grandma does.

  • @ofek3 Okay.

  • @antsamthompson9 Hey like I said, the cast of Avenue Q should guest star during season 42 or 43 of Sesame Street in an episode like #4220 (Music Magic) Joey Mazzarino could write it, Kevin Clash could direct it, plus it'd be the perfect chance to re-introduce Rick Lyon I can picture it now

Announcer (Jerry Nelson): Ladies and gentlemen, we are proud to introduce after a fifteen year absence the creator of the Lyon Puppets and Avenue Q, please give a round of applause for Mr. Richard Lyon

  • @muppetlover16 That would be awesome!

  • @antsamthompson9 Yeah and here is the plot Sponsors: A, Q, 15 Word on the Street: Lyrics w/Jeff Marx and Bobby Lopez Musical Numbers SS Theme-SS Cast Hello-SS Cast Avenue Q Theme-AQ Cast I Love Trash/The Internet Song-Oscar, Trekkie, and Guys But I Like You-Rod, Nicky, Bert and Ernie Oscar the Wonderful Grouch-Rick Lyon and Oscar Mahna Mahna-Bip Bippadotta and the Bad Idea Bears Fat Cat Scat-Rod, Princeton, Nicky and Bip Bippadotta Lever Lover-Kate Taylor the Latte Boy-Princeton
  • @muppetlover16 That's a good idea.

  • @antsamthompson9 oh and here is the list of puppeteers

Rick Lyon-Nicky/Trekkie/Bear (understudy Martin P. Robinson)

Stephanie D'Abruzzo-Kate Monster (understudy Leslie Carrarra-Rudolph)

    John Tartaglia-Princeton/Rod (u/s Matt Vogel,David Rudman)

    Jen Barnhart-Ms.T/Bear (u/s Pam Arciero)

    what do you think?

  • @muppetlover16 That would be good.

  • @antsamthompson9 Yeah but what do you think each version of their characters would sound like IMO

Nicky/Trekkie=a perfect Jim-Ernie and really gruff Telly

Kate/Lucy=Abby Cadabby (without the annoying giggle) and a very sultry Spamela Hamderson

Rod/Princeton=Matt's Big Bird and David Rudman's normal voice only louder and less nasal (I don't think MV could do Rod)

Ms.T/Bear=Both Pam's normal voice, but with the yellow bear sounding like Leona

  • @muppetlover16 That would be good.

  • Comment removed

  • @muppetlover16 I'll try to be more creative.

  • Comment removed

  • @antsamthompson9 Oh wait I got another idea...

Count it Higher-Little Chrissy w/Rod, Princeton, and Nicky as the Alphabeats

Super Morphin' Mega Monsters vs. Zostic (Wubba Ball crossover)-SS cast, with Trekkie as Zostic

    Beep!/Visual Thinking-Rod and Princeton

The Off-key song/X Train-Oscar, Grungetta, and Trekkie (with Rick performing Oscar , voice by C.Spinney and Marty as Trekkie), and the Grouch Engineers (Peter Linz and Jim Martin)

  • @muppetlover16 That would be cool.

  • @antsamthompson9 But wait gets better....

Wrestling Matches (complete with commentary by Guy Smiley and Sonny Friendly)

Hipsters vs Squares Rod and Mr. Brightwite vs Big Jeffy and Rockin Richard

Rap Battle: Princeton vs Roosevelt Franklin (rematch)

Monster Mash: Herry and Cookie vs Trekkie and Beautiful Day Monster

Main Event: Oscar the Grouch vs Roscoe the Grouch (orange Oscar clone)

  • @muppetlover16 That would be cool.

  • @antsamthompson9 Wait how about this? *The count enters" Kate: Who's that handsome purple fella? Count: I am the count, it is nice to meet you, you know for a monster you're pretty cute! Kate: Oh go, on! Princeton: O_O Count: Marry me and I will treat you like a princess! Kate: Well...Okay! *Kate chases after the count* Princeton: Wait..come back here! Rick: Let her go Prince, you'll find another *Princeton breaks down and cries* Rick: There, there, it's okay.
  • @muppetlover16 That would be funny.

  • @antsamthompson9 Cookie Monster or Trekkie could play a rendition of the SS Theme on the fiddle to open the show and then either them would eat it, lol

Rick and David: Thank you and enjoy the show! (Rick high-fives Dave and CM and TM exit)

and of course this back and forth betwixt Oscar and Kate

Oscar: Hey tubby, when you go around the room do you go AROUND the room?

Kate: I am not fat, I'm Reubenesque!

Oscar: Is that what you call it, I say you're still fat!

    *Kate bites Oscar*

  • @muppetlover16 That would be fun to watch.

  • @antsamthompson9 Yeah, but I think Kate would think that Oscar tastes terrible, but on the other hand maybe he tastes pretty good, almost like pistachio ice cream ('cause he's green)

    Oscar: What was that for?

Kate: I always wondered what grouches tasted like

Oscar: So you're a cannibal? That's it I'm outta here!

Kate: Wait, come back I'm still hungry! *Kate chases Oscar, pins him down and munches on Oscar's fur some more*

  • @muppetlover16 I don't think that would be apprprate for SS.

  • @antsamthompson9 Well she is a monster after all and monsters have to eat too you know, and this is Avenue Q we're talking about not SS, we don't wanna water everything down, get it? and furthermore...

Princeton: Uh, Kate why is there green fur on your lips?

Kate: Uhhh...I have no idea what your talking about? (brushes the fur away)

Princeton: Have you been biting people again?

    Kate: Maybe

  • @muppetlover16 That's a good piont.

  • @antsamthompson9

Of course it is and continuing from where I left off

Princeton: Why did you bite Oscar?

Kate: Because he called me fat!

Princeton: Well that's no reason to bite him, on the other hand, how did he taste?

Kate: Actually I believe he tasted like pistachio ice cream

Princeton: But you don't even like pistachio, you always told me you liked chocolate

Kate: I wanted to change it up a bit

  • @muppetlover16 Very funny.

  • @antsamthompson9 Oh and I just got another idea maybe Bert and Ernie could sing "Matchmaker" and then the matchmaker would find perfect matches for them

Matchmaker: Bertram and Ernest, I've found the perfect girls for you

    * Betty Lou and Prairie Dawn walk up to Bert and Ernie, later the rabbi (Rick Lyon himself) marries the two couples*

Rick: Mazel tov, may the four of you live long and prosperous, be fruitful and multiply

  • @muppetlover16 That would be fun.

  • @antsamthompson9 If they had babies here's what I think they'd name them

    Ernie and Prairie Dawn: Bobby

    Bert and Betty Lou: Benny

  • @muppetlover16 That's a good idea.

  • @antsamthompson9 Yes, Benny and Bobby compliment each other very well, and the reason I chose those names was to keep with the whole "Muppet Pairings" concept, and while we're on the subject how would these "couples/friendships" sound?

    ElmoXZoe

    TellyXRosita

    HerryXLulu

    Cookie MonsterXCookies

    Trekkie MonsterXThe Internet

    OscarXGrungetta or OscarXTrash

    GroverXMr.Johnson

  • @muppetlover16 That sounds great.

  • @antsamthompson9 Yeah and how about Kate meeting Herry, imagine...

Kate: Hello handsome, what's your name?

Herry: Herry, nice to meet you

    Princeton: Oh god, not again!

Kate(flirting): So, you wanna swing by my place sometime?

    Herry: Sure, what time?

Kate: Anytime you want, just gimmie a call

    Herry: How 'bout tonight?

Kate: Sure, see ya there Hercules!

Princeton: How and why does this keep happening to me? (breaks down and cries again)

  • @muppetlover16 That would give us a good chance to see Herry again.

  • @antsamthompson9 Yeah,and continuing from where I left off...

Princeton: Why is it that everytime we try to get back together, another Muppet comes and ruins the moment?

Kate: It's not my fault I'm attractive to so many guys.

Princeton: What is it that you see in Herry that you don't already see in me?

Kate: He's strong and handsome, and he's not a nerd!

Herry: Exactly so, so long nerd-boy!

    Princeton: :(

  • @muppetlover16 That would be funny.

  • @antsamthompson9 Yes and of course....

Princeton: Look at it this way, at least she's with her own kind.

Trekkie: That's easy for you to say, me try to meet girls, but they run away

    Princeton:That's because you're ugly!

Trekkie: That true, sometime me wish me could be handsome like you

*POOF! In TM's place is a handsome long-haired man*

Man (In Trekkie's voice): Hey, look at me! I'm a regular stud muffin

*A mob of girl puppets chase Trekkie*

    Trekkie: HELP!!

  • @muppetlover16 That'd be hilarous.

  • @antsamthompson9 Yes it is and how's about this?

(from the wrestling match between CM and Herry, vs BDM and Trekkie)

CM: Hey coz, look over there! Now Herry

    TM: Where?

*Herry whacks Trekkie with a trashcan*

Rick: Ow, Matt what did you do that for?

    Matt: No reason

BDM: Snarf ratch kerundrige! *BOOM Trekkie is struck by lightning*

Trekkie: I thought you my partner man, by the way could somebody call me an ambulance?

Herry: That solves the Trekkie problem

  • @muppetlover16 That'd be funny.

  • @antsamthompson9 Yes it would but wait there is more...

Elmo: Elmo has been in the whole show and Elmo hasn't gotten one line!

*Kate sees Elmo and rushes to hug him, doing the "Lisa Rental" routine*

Kate: Oh look at the cute little red doggie-woogie-poggie-noggie-doggie

Oscar: You must be outta your everlovin' mind that's not a doggie-woggie-poggie-soggie...what did you call it?

Kate: It's a little red doggie!

Oscar: If it is a dog what kind of dog is it?

    Kate: An Irish Setter

  • @muppetlover16 That's hilarous.

  • @antsamthompson9 Yes and of course...

Kate: C'mon you little red cutie pie, Auntie Kate is gonna take you home to Avenue Q would you like that?

    Elmo: Uh...sure!

Kate: Okay, let's go, c'mon Princeton, let's go

Princeton: You wanted to adopt a kid and you never told me?

Kate: No? but who can resist that cute fuzzy face?

    Princeton: Okay, Elmo, let's go!

    *later*

Elmo: Mr. Princeton, where do babies come from?

Princeton: You'll find out when you're older!

  • @muppetlover16 That'd be funny.

  • @antsamthompson9 And the hilarity continues on....

Elmo: But Elmo wants to know NOW!

Princeton: Well Elmo, when your mommmy and daddy love each other very much, you see, they (whispers into Elmo's ear)

Kate: Princeton stop, your scaring the baby

Princeton: He's not OUR baby, we adopted him remember, besides if he really were our son he'd look like you and you're not even red!

    Kate:SO?!

  • @muppetlover16 Awesome.

  • @antsamthompson9 And the now the grand finale...

Princeton: We had a great time on Sesame Street didn't we guys?

    *others agreeing*

Big Bird: And you're welcome to come back anytime you want

Princeton:Thanks Big Bird, oh and one more thing (turns to the audience) Sesame Street has been brought to you today by the letters A and Q and by the number 15, Sesame Street is a production of Sesame Workshop, see ya (The Avenue Q cast exits)

  • @muppetlover16 That'd be cool.

  • Hey! Isn't one of the girls Lea Michele from Glee?

  • @reelirishboy5 Yes. She was in Fiddler at the time. She was also in the workshops for Spring Awakening!

  • @reelirishboy5 She was Shprintze. :)

  • Comment removed

  • @reelirishboy5 Not only is that Lea "Rachel Berry" Michele from Glee, but that is also her bearing the show's bonnet!! Could that be a sign???

  • I love this clip it makes my day all the time!!!!

  • "Papa, Princeton and I want to be married."

"Married?! I'll be brief -- on the other hand, on the other hand, tradition... sure, go ahead."

  • @ilanacharnelle GENIUS

  • @ilanacharnelle I think he Said I'll be grief .

  • It was the BC/EFA Easter Bonnet competition, not World AIDS Day.

  • The funnier thing is that you need a working knowledge of both Avenue Q and Fiddler to fully appreciate this.

  • @guate6 yes, but my mom and a friend who only saw one of each (my mom saw fiddler on the roof of course, and my friend knows avenue q) also thought this was really funny :)

but of course, i guess i know better than them EXACTLY how funny this is XD

  • Brilliant. I love it!

  • lazer wolf ... your a faggalah!

  • I love "Do u love me?? No....."

  • just genius....
