Yep, they were called to our condo- Summer Beach. There was a false alarm and all was fine- but this engine I believe did show up. I remember on the 13th we did have the false alarm.
Umm no right engine. The 1 came off that side. Ocean City dosnt have an engine 6. And usually that is engine 3's call but the were on another run so engine 16 was covering box 1
neato! I remember hearing this thing coming. It turned out that there was a false alarm and not a drill- I never figured out why the alarms went off, but they found nothing. A Fire Marshals SUV showed up, followed by this fire truck, then the police, then an ambulance. The alarm sounded like the one at my universitys and I said "???????" and just looked for wallets/cellphones, didn't find any but my own and left.
Yea dont worry you would know if it was a working fire. There would have been about 4 more engines and 2 ladders 2 more shift supervisors and probably another medic unit. They dont mess around down there especially when its a high rise like that.
Engine 16 (ALS Engine) is the only 24-hour staffed piece of fire apparatus in the city. The response, beyond that engine, would depend upon volunteer availability and staffing. Hope this helps.
I should add for clarity... The career personnel, if they are available in the station, also bring an engine. For example, if P4 and P4-1's crew were in station, they would staff an engine for a call in BX4. The same goes for the other two stations. I'd recommend checking out their website for more information.
