Was a cheap call at that point in the game bottom line. It only looks worse cause of the momentum of the play. @devilback11 And yet you throw aside that though the history of the rivalry is in Michigan's favor 57-43-6, 22 of those wins came before the introduction of the AP Poll (which is where records really should begin). OSU had 8 before that point. So really the rivalry is tied at 35. Not to mention that out of the 11 National Titles that Michigan claims, only three occurred after the introduction of the AP Poll and only two did the AP give them.

@wingsfan977 The two teams tied in the 2nd and 12th game, though OSU did not win until the 15th meeting. Michigan had was a much more established program by that time. OSU had been playing for around 10 years by the time the series began, whereas Michigan had been playing since 1879.
I don't really want to get into a dumb youtube arguement that is usually seen on the comments for music videos. I am hoping Michigan can get back on track so the rivalry can get back into prominence.

Was a cheap call at that point in the game bottom line. It only looks worse cause of the momentum of the play. Sure he hit him high, but to have a referees call determine the outcome of a game that important was ridiculous. Both teams were hitting hard all game long. Could have been a number of these calls. Was a great game and I give osu credit for the win yeh...just wish the ref woulda pocketed that whistle...Didn't matter in the end though. we got crushed by usc and osu got crushed by florida

Crable definitely didnt hit him late or anything like that but it was a helmet to helmet which is technically a personal foul. if its in the rule book it can decide the game, no matter how shitty it may seem. it is too bad that that call decided THE most anticipated game in the history of college football

I'm sure to this day Crable wishes he would have just let up a little. I just think there are times where you don't make that call.

I'm tired of seeing everyone pin the loss on Crable. Sure it displayed the lowest possible amount of clutch, but we were only in that position because we had given up two 50+ yard running touchdowns from two different running backs.
This was by far the greatest game in the rivalry and even though we didn't come out on top, the passion and determination displayed by both sides epitomized what makes college football great, and it made me proud to be a michigan fan.

F that bull ship! SUCH a bs call... In no way do you let that call basically decide the game... If I'm not mistaken, that was on 3rd down (out of field goal range), and Michigan was only down by 4. Wow... That call gave them the game. I highly doubt Crable was intentionally leading with his helmet as well. Smith was running to the sideline and Crable led with his shoulder, but his helmet made contact because of Smith's movement... Ugh... Whatever, I'm a sore loser.

It wasn't a "BS" call...it was very close and i might even lean toward a good call...Smith's arm was cocked and on its way forward to throw the ball before Crable cocked himself, not to meantion Crable clearly led with the crown of his head and if Smith was pump faking it was a clear attempt at the sideline...take your pick roughing the passer late hit OB (which is what the call would have been had he held on to the ball) or helmet to helmet...all three are the same result..15 yards and auto 1st
