shes about 12 in this. she had to retire later due to heart problems. im guessing it had to do with her weight because i saw a video of her in 2004 and she was only wearing tights, no skirt, and she looked even more scarily skinny
Having a heart problem does not necessarily mean that it is because she is thin. Think of how many hours she trains.. Top gymnasts train 8 hours a day. Plus she is 12 years old in this video. At that age I was just as skinny, plus I trained AND ate a lot due to the amount of calories burned. Athletes need about twice the amount of calories than the average person. Plus if she wasn't eating, she wouldn't be able to do what you see in the video. She's extremely strong.
unless you do R.G it is hard to understand the full extent of her talent! to some its just being flexible. When actually it is extreme strength and flexibility, keeping in time with the music, covering your floor plan, smiling, extending, staying on toes, keeping every joint straight, catching the apparatus and showing the music's theme in your expression!
notice on 1:27 she does the balance using her LEFT leg - and amazingly, it seems to be (nearly) just as flexible as her right one! this is such a rare case! amazing!
well, some CAN of course, but not most, as you say. It least not that easily. Even watch Bessonova doing the balance using her left leg -it's much worse than her right split. And it's typical for most girls actually. But some cases, like here, u can't even spot the difference. that what i meant.
Oh yeah definitely. It looks like Bessonova can't even do a left leg split properly. Gurbanova's left ones are amazing. Also Charkashyna. Some gymnasts look like they don't spend much time balancing the stretches with both legs.
totally agree about Gurbanova. and btw Charkashina is a good example: she is not the most flexible out there overall, but her both legs are almost equally flexible - that's true :)
but yeah, the 1:28 element is seriously amazing here.. dun think there is anyone else doing it THAT well.. with NO support of the hands.. awesome!
sure ;) with THAT extent of flexibility on both legs ;) and they are probably all competing in high-ranking competitions :)) unfortunately, having been in RG for a very long time, i ve not me THAT many ppl of this kind..
true tho some ppl arent like that amazing and all and they have flexibilty on both legs. i can do the right split easy, and im like 3cms off the ground for left
well, being able to do a split (which is just like a 4-year old gymanst level) and this here are 2 totally different things, and can't be compared. that's why im talking about the EXTENT of her flexibility on BOTH legs, and it IS rare.
penso che questq rqgqzzina sia davvero molto brava e sciolta e sembra molto disnvolta credo che da grande darà molti frutti alla russia. che comunque ha sempre goduto di queste ginnaste particolarmente sciolte di mobilità articolare.

I think most gymnasts can do that. Like Natalia Lipovskaya for example, Alexandra Popovkina...Anna Gurbanova...
