A visionary innovator and driver, it was a real experience to see Jim's machines in the pit area let alone in action on the track, unfortunately life is a paradox of great things, triumph walking hand and hand with tragedy.
unfortunately i never got the opportunity to watch Jim race because i'm only 22 years old i wish i could've. however i got to see Keith quite a few times this year because i went the full season. great tribute though 10 stars
Great tribute to the best supermodified driver and builder EVER period!.I loved watching him dominate on a weekly basis.I miss the old days at this great speedway watching Bentley,Warren Coniam and My favorite of all time was Jimmy Winks.
Hi, just want to share my thanks for creating this. I saw Jimmy race and have only missed one Classic since 1982. His ingenuity and creativity are amazing. The 199 lap Classic story is one of sportmanship and class that is only matched by the year that JS let Gioia take out the new Super to decide the championship on the track after he had crashed his own car.
This is amazing,i was 21 when he was killed and he was a great friend of our family and i remember selling papers for my dad at the speedway while watching him race andrews, albritton, swifty, thanks but it still hurts, great job a+
Wow, very nice job on this. My wife and I were at the track the night Jimmy was taken, still puts a lump in my throat. Gee how the years have passed. He was amazing!!! RIP Jimmy and thanks for all the talent you showed us!!
Good Job, Glad to see someone do a tribute to Jimmy Shampine. I never saw him race, but my Father recalls all the different kinds of cars he drove. Just to look at the pictures of the kinds of cars he has driven is interesting and most of the time he won in them. I read the book about him. Very interesting thing about Shampine was he could have raced Indy Cars or major forms of racing, but his family was so important he stayed close to home and raced locally.

Wow Great Tribute Vids!
I was at Star Speedway in Epping when it came over the P.A. that we lost Jim all those years ago.
And another time then at Lee USA Speedway when we lost Richie Evans.
I was shocked and saddened. :(
Ride on Jimmy!
Thanks for the memories in the old Green Machine Crazy 8!
