@MsZeitgeist85 What do you mean she wants to see more people in poverty? How do you know that? I guess I mean why would you say something like that given what she has said? It seems to me to be the opposite. She has overcome poverty and wants others to do the same. Its like an good sports athlete telling how they used to be uncoordinated and then telling other people what drills helped them to become an MVP, yet you seem to say she is giving drills that would make the players have less skill.

She has made numerous false staements on health care like when she said ObamaCare will lead to SIngle Payer and that Single Payer in Canada is worse than our current system. She said that system has failed here because Single Payer = Medicare. SHe doesn't even know our Medicare doesn't allow collective bargining with providers and countires that it does in Canada.

She is clueless.

I have a lot of friends from Canada, notice my SN, they are not bragging to me about how great their insurance is nor are they suggesting that we should support Obama's plan. The two are VERY different. Also, a recent example can also be brought to mind when an infant, in Canada, left to come to America for treatment as Canada was going to let the child die due to their policies. Not the type of thing I would want to vote for myself.

@CapsHockey100 Canada consistantly outperforms the US in every level despite spending far less than us. What you said about letting the child die can't be true. In Canada if you need urgent care you get it and the Canadians that come here for care are have it paid for by the Canadian system. THe ones that don't and pay our of pocket for care here do so only for elective care.

@MsZeitgeist85 I do think there is a problem though with the medical side of things in the States as far as insurance, fraud, supply, demand, etc. are related. I mean there are places that have two sets of books, one for those who have insurance - these books have higher prices, and one for those who don't have insurance - lower prices. Obviously there are challenges facing healthcare at present.

@CapsHockey100 They have set things up for both Medicare and Medicaid where they pay the providers less and less and give Medicare and Medicaid less say in what drug companys can charge. Because of this they are charging $20 for pills that cost 40 cents in the VA. This has caused Medicare and Medicaid to gradually pay doctors less and less.

Fixing this is simple. GIve Medicaid & Medicare the same bargining rights that the VA has with providers and companys. Problem Solved.

@MsZeitgeist85 I don't think that there is a "simple" fix. The problem is more complex than you describe or we are talking about two different issues. But lets say you are correct, adding more layers of bureaucracy does not seem to be the answer. It just adds more time to the process and, more importantly, more people who need to get paid in each additional layer.

@CapsHockey100 Actually if we switched to a Single Payer model like what Canada has it would reduce bureaucracy. It would mean that the payer system collectivley bargins with the providers and companys. It would cover everyone and cost 40% less and it would mean no more deductables, co-pays, and HMOs.

WHen the Health Care Reform Bill passed last year it was over 1500 pages. Mark Leno's CaOneCare Bill is 8 pages. Single Payer would mean everyone would be covered and it would cost us far less.

ABORTION does NOT solve poverty!!! I grew up really poor I am glad my parents did not murder me!!! Im sick of people say we should kill unborn babies if they are going to grow up poor. I got over growing up very poor cant get over being DEAD~!!!!
