  • I can 100% this song in Rock Band with FC but I can't do this! Dude, your videos make me want to sell my whole piece of shit drum kit.

  • @TheEpicImpaler

I was hoping for the opposite effect really!

  • Lad, you are just unbelievable. Your drumming is a real masterpiece. I know the original song's Moon drumming by heart and you are more than outstanding. Hats down for you!

  • FANTASTIC DRUMMING

    BROTHER!

    Danny Guitar Rogers

    Chicago,IL

  • Ahh, I read some jealousy comments on here. Thanks for acknowledging that Keith was one of the drumming greats. Some folks have to understand that it's not that you were trying to out do Keith Moon, but simply, you have your own style as well. It makes you, you. Great job!

  • Amazing bro.

  • that was kick ass.

  • great.

  • Amazing. You have gained a fan :)

  • excellent and so moon-ish in your moves. "going mobile" is one of my favorite songs by the who and never played live. i guess, if the ever played this song live, moon would have killed the drums like you.

    greets from germany

  • if anything happens to Zac Starkey you'd be a perfect replacement!! great job-this (like all Who songs probably) seems like a difficult tune..you played immaculately

  • great job man!! good fun

  • You did a great job...I wish my drumming was that good....

  • u kinda have a keith mooney fibe great video

  • Not perfect, and certainly not as good as Moon, but awesome to watch. Thanks for posting.

  • yes sir, you nailed it as much as it is unconventional playing(Moon style)

  • 0_0 1:58 to 2:40

  • good one..can see you are well into it and enjoying it.

  • very good....

  • Yikes! You nailed Moonie! Not so much complicated because of all the hits he would do in a Who song, just the overall feel he had which no other drummer could quite get because of his unconventional approach. You literally have to forget all you know about textbook playing to get inside his unorthodox style. And you fucking did it! You should send this into the Who for an audition.

  • good job dude. hard song 2 cover but Nice!!! what cymbal r u using? not the zildjian one but the other one?

  • You just need those ear phones duct taped to your head!

  • i used to lose my time during the solo and the never ending splashing of the cymbals... i still do sometimes if i get carried away.

  • Terrific attempt! Well, not just an attempt really.. Nicely done!

  • Nobody could ever possibly do anything as perfect. I watch these videos over and over..

  • hey spot on!you got keiths flow and chaos nailed

    nice one!

  • WOW !!! You are outstanding, and so much fun to watch, too! Drumming is not just about hitting things with big sticks. This is great rhythmic playing. You do Keith Moon justice...and then some !! Do you play in a band?

  • I'm in a band - we're the Dead beats :)

  • Ok....

    1. OUTSTANDING choice of music.

    2. YOU FUCKING ROCK! Lol! I mean....that just fucking rocked. And while a lot of guys out there can play drums, they can't play fucking music. You can.

So Huge Props. I see you covered another favorite Who song and drum part...Real Me. Gonna chekc it out.

    Fuckin A...rock ON.....

  • man, you are super nice. ignore that guy that side you are trying to out do Moon. You ripped it bro.

  • A worthy tribute to a genius drummer. Lots of fun to watch and listen to. Thanks for the performance.

  • This is spectacular- I love how wild the drumming is. Not an easy song- FANTASTIC!

  • My name is Keith Moon... and I approve of this message!

  • are you trying to out do moon? I dont remember the original song having that many fills... Give Moonie some respect dude. Im not saying ur drumming is bad but it seems like your trying to perform fills at parts that are unnecessary to do it at...

  • Give Moonie some respect? I love the man, and any attempt to 'outdo' him would clearly fail as he's the greatest and always will be! I don't try to play exactly what Keith played and yes I know 'too many fills' is probably where I fall short. It's also 2 years old, and I have a whole new set plus new skills ;) Thanks for watching.

  • you are awesome :) more fills , MORE FILLS!

you play great, why not let it show?

  • Dude....

I couldn't hope to be this good. You did Keith proud. I never get tired of seeing this vid. I learn something new from it every time.

  • to drum like moon, you have to be as spontaneous as he was. moon was literally unpredictable

  • That was kick ass! You look like a god compared to everyone who plays this song on their "rock band" drum sets. Plus this is one of my favorite songs ever.

  • Comment removed

  • Nice one mark that was shit hot.

  • You have serious skills. Please put them to good use, and don't let anybody tell you that you can't make it big.

  • this is my fav cover or wont get fooled again but i drum and honeslty whats the diff. between a ride and crash. I do both on all three symbals i have? idk. ha.

  • A crash is (usually) there to "accent" a part of the music - at the end of a fill etc. A ride is a cymbal you keep time on. I ride my crashes a lot and love the washy-ness :P

  • No Ride?

  • The cymbal with rivets is a ride. Battered and cracked, but a ride none the less.

  • Christ. You hit those things hard.

  • evry time i listen to a who song, i always watch ur videos.

  • every vid get's better youve never let down subcribe to you

  • 99 out of 100 points. The only thing you didn't do was park a Rolls Royce in a swimming pool. Nicely done.

  • jeez, this is great. i've tried to play who songs with many a hotshot drumma and never did anyone come close. when you play music this important it has to be done accurately. damn ggreat!

  • Dude, you knocked that out of the freakin' park

  • I am a non-drummer.....but I have 3:04 nailed !! ha ha

  • ur fucking bad ass <3 u rock man

  • Not as good as the legend Kieth Moon, but damn good.

  • who the hell is? as a fellow drummer, i say, YOU NAILED IT BRO!!

  • You're good. Lock in more with the song and you're there...

  • I got a new name for this kid..."Baby Keith!"

  • AWESOME........will you join my band?

  • Excelent... Congratulations!!!

  • 2:51-2:54

    Holy shit man. LOL

  • Kieth was re incarnated in you dude. That's all I can say.

  • dude your a fuckin good drumer!

  • The Who is my fav band & i play drums so Keith's by far my fav and you man..... Just straight get it down... OMG!

  • OMG, That was EXCELLENT!

  • Great job man, I really loved how lose and easy your arms and hands look, so many people look tight when they try to play something like this.

  • Your drum set seems to change alot? I assume you have more then one or go through alot?

    Btw, Awesome Performance, as usual

  • Dude! THAT was pretty damn good! I can tell you have some of the motion that Keith had.Of course , I guess you have to mimic his parts.Good work.

  • YOU KILLED IT

  • Is that good?

  • thats VERY good

  • right on dude,,awsome job.. one of the best who songs ever!! you FN ripped it apart.....

  • Buzzed watching you play. If your band ever gets to an open mic or better, advertise it here, okay?

  • that was sweet.

  • i am big-time jealous right now..

  • awesome!

  • Very cool!!!!!

  • very kieth moon like and very awesome. this song is amazing to play on drums because the second half is basically a freestyle on the drums. its a great song to experiment on.

  • good job

  • My current favorite by The Who.

Can you tell me how long it took (estimate in years) for you to get your snare skills to the point they are right now?

And do you still think you're improving them?

  • It's really hard to say Primal. For a start I wouldn't rate my snare skill particularly highly having never attempted to learn theory or take lessons. I go through long periods of feeling like I'm learning nothing new then one session later I'm buzzing on picking up some fresh skill - often none-Who related (then I can work it in!)

  • The next question that obviously comes to mind is why we can't find any clips of any band you've played in - are you simply a solo player?

  • Obvious answer - I've never uploaded any! Not hiding it, just not got any footage of my current band.

  • Aha, so there IS hope. Awesome.

I take it will be something like a combination of The Who and The Hives?

  • We sound more Stonesy to my ears. Foz our songwriter/guitarist/singer loves Brian Jonestown Massacre, they're a clear influence.

  • @babyshambler So about 2 years ago I saw this clip. While practicing now I just thought of it and had to see it again.

Made me all warm inside and gave me energy again like the first time!

  • well shambler u shouldnt feel bad not taking lessons cuz look at were keith went and he never took a single lesson... ever!

  • He did take lessons chrian :) With a man called Carlo Little.

  • O rly? I didnt know that!... i learned something new today! thanks shambler!

  • He only took them for a very limited time. He was largely self taught, you can tell by the way he played.

  • Ginger Baker had the same teacher

  • ahhh... the drummer for the Savages eh?

(I read about it in tony fletcher's bio on moon)

Wasn't he also the first drummer for the Stones?

  • it's soo refreshing to see someone who plays like keith moon. I guess moon is one of a kind in his art, it's too bad (or is it?) that the new music (even prog) that's out today, you never really see that loose style of just RIPPING on drums like moon did. It's like moon played to his own beat and whatever he felt, though he played to a beat (lets say 4/4) you could never predict what kind of drum roll he was going to do next. Brilliant. Thanks for inspiring the likes of neil peart, etc.

  • Now you know why they never played that song live. You missed the screaming, though. Great job.

  • Wow, great job dude.

    11/10

  • Who's Next is the shit.

so are your drums in this.

    great job mate.

  • Okay. Nothing NEW to say.. but I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your performance.. My friend (who is a drummer), turned me on to this video and I am so happy he did. All the energy you put into your performance is exactly what makes playing an instrument the best fucking thing in this universe.

    Thank You!

  • I had a lot of fun watching you play this song.

I always loved the way Keith played.

    You nailed right on!

    TK

    New Orleans...

  • Very Mooonish. As moonish as it gets amongst the young crowd. A good bassplayer would be challenged to play with you. Kee it up. You've got it!! lng live the Moon!!!!!

  • good job bro...

  • wow this is great... and it doesn't hurt that you look good!

  • that's a good point seeing as pert came after bonham and moon and each of those guys were innovators as it pretains to drumming. don't get me wrong, i love playing to the who and zepplin, but some of the things pert does, like the beats he imploys, are just really hard to play.

  • dude you've probably never seen neil pert live. keith moon was good for his time but technically pert is better. why don't you go and just search a video and see for yourself

  • Yeah but Peart's got no soul to his playing, its to technical and robot like, Keith personalized the drums. Moon was a big influence on Peart anyway. Peart's good just not my favourite, I Rank him3rd after Moon n Bonham.

  • if u can drum that song that well try rush and neil pert: as a drummer i know how hard rush is to drum to but u can probably do it

  • your not a truee a drummer becuase you would know that neil peart is and never was as good as keith! EVER!!!

  • dude i love you lol i hate when people say neil pert is beter then keith moon no fuckin way is that true neil perts songs ahas no where near as complecated patterns as moony's

  • If you can drum to that song, (as well as you did), There is no limit.

  • you deserve a really tight brit band where your drumming will be showcased!

  • Just wanted you to know this vid has inspired me to take up the drums again.

    Thank you!

  • Gonna be awsome in RB

  • you have moons stye down

  • SWEETNESS!!!! OMG

  • Keith Moon would be proud;)

  • AWESOME

  • AWESOME!!

  • make some new vids there so fun to watch.

  • you are great . made my night .

  • congrats!!!!!!

I love the way you play the drums, I love the sound of your drumset, so, keep it going!

The Who are one of my favourite bands

  • you did a great job but i must say the song and youre mic really really needs a up grade Degration man Degration...besides that you kick ass...clean it up and you could get something!

  • Awesome! Thank you

  • I like how you incorporate the Moon side to side symbol action... Ive never seen any other drummer do that besides Moony...next you'll have to do that move where he puts his left hand straight up in the air for no apparent reason....you know the one.

  • 1. You chose one of my fave songs from them...including the drum part. Brilliant.

    2. Awesome. Gotta respect a man for just taking on certain things...let alone when he does it well. Rocking!!

  • good job kid,.............Keith!

  • yo u r so awesome! ur probly the best kid drummer that ive seen! rock on man, ROCK ON!!!

  • Cheers, but I'm 24 in 2 weeks...

  • I guess this proves reincarnation. There's a new Moon arising.

  • actually a lot like keith ;)

  • Grand effort!

Take it you kicked your kit over after the clip finnishes?!

  • If I had to choose between Starkey & You to join the Who, goddamn you could show the entire world how great you are

  • Dude ,,, YOU rock. This is awesome.

  • Nice, I see the Moon's spirit in you, WOW!!

  • Another classic done superbly. Man, you got the Moon mojo, he visits you in your dreams. You are ON!

  • BRILLIANT! The Who are my all time favourite band and you are so much like Moony man! Great drumming, great - I can see that you really understand the music and the way Moon drummed. Where are you from if you don't mind me asking?

  • Thankyou Jools, it's from 10+ years studying Keith! I'm in Yorkshire, England.

  • dude,your so good,its scary.please give us some zeppelin.

  • I could watch this cat all night....great feeling....like a great blues guitar player.....

  • Your kit sounds really good !

  • Keep practicing. You're still playing behind the beat. Too many whole & half notes and not enough quarter & eighth notes. I can't tell if you have a second bass drum, but it doesn't sound like it. You need that and you really have to work on double pedaling if you want anything approaching Keith Moon's technique. Good effort.

  • Nice job man. Listening to that reminds of how utterly crazy yet groovin' Moon's playing was. It sounds chaotic but it totally works in the context of The Who's music.

  • Beastly...I always felt that the drums made this song as great as it is...and you nailed it...

  • though you were a tad off during the guitar solo...but as a guitarist I know how difficult playing in time to prerecorded song can be...

  • awesome album love the drumming

  • have u ever taken lessons cuz ur amazing

  • No, I learned by listening to Who albums and trying to play what I heard.

  • wow dude same here...hahah seriously I need to get some videos of myself on here!!! You and I could rule the world of Who Drums forever!!! hahah but damn nice job on this one...I can also play this one very well I just hate the fact that I have no proof for anyone!!!!!!!!!

  • Man that was fucking awesome! Sounded like i was listening to the song but the drum track was just a bit louder. If Zak Starkey ever should leave as drummer for the who you should apply!

  • That was amazing. It must have been really hard to figure out everything Moon did in that song, well in all the Who songs actually.

  • All over that one... sweet work ~

  • Moon is God. You're pretty good as well. :)

  • complimenti!!!

  • absolutely top notch

  • You are freakin' amazing! Send this to the Who and get playin' with them!!!

  • Great job man, I really like your drumming style.

  • good drumming!

  • Thanks! Just through listening to the song (and playing along) a few hundred times. Practice is all it is.

  • dude thats actually really good how do u know how to play the exact thing

  • i have zbt cymbals and one zxt thin crash

  • Sorry Hugh, my mistake. It'll have to be a Premier kit for me Mr Rocker!

  • oh really? cool. premier kits are what keith moon used. there really cool. i've played them before but i have a ludwig.

  • when you upgrade, make sure you get a premier kit!

  • Hi Hug. They're ZXT's and it's "Zildjian". My kit is a Pearl Export, nothing special although I want to upgrade! Cheers!

  • you should get a ludwig when you upgrade. and it's [hugh] the rocker. i should have called myself hug the roccker. it would have rocked

  • do you have a zht cymbal? i have one but your zilijan sounds better. did i spell zilijin wrong? i bet i did. well, just wondering if you have a zht here. and also, what kind of kit do you have here?

  • ive seen a lot of your quad. videos too.

    i love you.

  • smooth, fluid, and in time. nice

  • I don't know. It's all simple LRLRLRLRLR I'm sure...

  • When you do the fast notes on the snare, are you rolling?

  • ZXT. I'll be upgrading soon, maybe I'll sell you it? No cracks etc!

  • that would work if you lived anywhere near me and i could come up with the money

  • do you have a zht cymbal? because i do and i want it to sound like yours

  • Cheers, and LRLR...I think. Not too sure. Like Mr Moon I don't ever play it the same way twice. LRLR makes more sense.

  • Great stuff as usual!!!!:D:D Out of interest,The "Moon" triplet ruff you first play at 0:22,do you play that as LRLR or RLLR??!! WB!!
