Believe me, we're not lazy. We work 12-24 hour shifts at a time, day and night. The reason we don't run like they do in movies is because we can't possibly know how dangerous a scene is at first.
We walk to the scene to see what's going on first and prepare ourselves for what we're about to be faced with, which can often be truly horrific. It'd be plain stupid to run in there with 50kg of gear.
Have a little respect for the people that you'll want more than anything if you ever get hurt.

i hate the ambulance and firefighter crew, they are so fucking lazy. When I see an emergency vehicle arriving @ the scene of a fire or accident, the crews take their time to get off their asses from the trucks and i'm thinking to myself, hurry up you lazy asses someone is dying/injured. Next time i drive by I wiil yell it out "hurry up you lazy asses" lol
@behrzone You are literally too stupid to be to have an opinion. We aren't "lazy". Like what another commenter said, we work very long shifts getting between 10-20 calls a shift. Scene Safety is probably why it looks like we take our time. We make sure its safe enough so that none of us become patients as well. So do us a favor, when you or a family member get hurt. PLEASE don't call 911 since you hate us so much. Take care of it on your own with your superior medical knowledge. Oh wait..
@behrzone You know what, you don't have the skills nor the hard training knowlegede these firefighters have . These firefighters have to focus on the patients and the vehicles that pass because they might come around and run into them. So if you don't have the knowledge these fire fighters have then I advise you to shut the hell up. And thats the nicest way I could of put it.
No, any video/photography done of something in plain view is perfectly legal. However, when you cover police actions you need to use caution. Do not get close, and don't be hiding in the dark where you might be recognized as a threat. Don't get yourself hurt.
Could not agree more, and I really wish they would understand and enforce the plain view theory. There is a guy out here that does not believe in this. Real piece of work
Well that would probably be because the GPD uses any means that they can to burn officers at thier discretion. There are some things that don't need to be captured on video, especially when it is put online for the world to see. There are some things the GPD officers have to do to get the job done that might be construed as "excessive" to the average joe who has no experience of policing a high-crime city. Nonetheless, GPD administration use things like that to hurt, not help the situation.
Understandable, thats why I would never publish anything like that. I am not in the business to get people fired or in trouble. The police and I actually have a pretty good relationship and a mutual understanding.
how many where in the 3 cars total? 6 ambulances seems like a lot not knowing that. We can send 2 boarded patients per ambulance here. Head injury's(depending on nature of the injury) all go via helicopter due to the risk factor.
That really isn't a goo SOP to support in transporting all non life threatening pt.s Code 3 to a hospital. The liability for anyone that gets into an accident on the way to the hospital with a non critical pt. is just not worth it.
dnotae, that does just blow my mind too. If we transport P-1, we have to document & justify ALL Priority-1 (your code 3) transports. That`s how we used to transport almost everyone 25 years ago....lol.....but in today`s world??? Hell no. It did kinda blow my mind while in Chicago, I watched a gal walk from a city bus, to an ambulance, then the crew left the scene Priority-1. (your code 3) Oh well....Every area is different.
though she walked from the bus to ambulance..i have seen a lot of people go south when you get them in the back of the rig....must be the lovely dull interior color or the blinding flourecent lights you see while on your back...hmm
Ed another great video. One thing I do wonder about, non-lifethreatening injuries? The crews transported Priority-1
One our PCR`s, we have to document and justify transporting P-1. I understand local SOP`s, but dang....Anyhow, looks like everyone did a great job. That crash we had a couple weeks ago up here, 5 cars, must have been 25 FF`s on scene...You know, the volunteers gota "catch the call"..(that`s not a dig to volunteers, we welcome the help)..It`s nice to have the hands.
At 0:18, the white car into the traffic signal pole (or streetlight pole)
We had an incident where a vehicle struck a similar style light pole. While the vehicle did not cause the pole to tip over, it did dent it enough to split the covering of the power cables inside the pole. This energized the metal exterior of the pole and electrocute the driver of the vehicle. Event though the pole was grounded, it still became a hazard. Something to think about.
it seemed that there were 4 possibly 5 cars to me, minivan, white car, black truck, the blue/or green car at 1:06 and maybe another one.

Gary FD has a SOP to transport all calls to the hospital with lights and sirens.
It's good to see fellow employees from Prompt working!
