European petrol and diesel prices are usually lower per gallon than in the US, but when taxes are factored in to pay for your "free" healthcare etc. it is obviously much, much higher.
You are sooooo lucky when it comes to gas prices... I made some calculations. In my country (Slovenia) a gallon is $6.5. ;) and all other EU countries have the similar prices.
@Cvitamin yeah but how much are your wages because EU money is worth more than US currency u need to remember that. So were probably paying the same amount as you are lol
@Sauls2286 off shore drilling has nothing to do with current gas prices. It's the speculating that goes on which has nothing to do with the price of crude or supply/demand. We are all being duped and fleeced for the sake of obscene profiteering. President Obama is not the one to blame.
@troppofiato1 And why do the speculators speculate the way they do? If they knew that there was going to be an environment where the economy could thrive they would not drive the price of commodities through the roof. If we have a government which cuts taxes on business and job creators, drills for oil everywhere it can be found, and stays out of our lives our gas prices (as well as food, gold, and silver) would be low and the dollar would be STRONG.
@Sauls2286 Are you high? I live in the US, but been to Asia and Europe. They're paying more per liter as we are per gallon.... Yeah, our gas situation sucks, but EVERYBODY ELSE'S sucks MUCH MUCH more.
@Sauls2286 $3.25 a gallon? God d***m! In Sweden you scream of happiness if the prices drop below $9 a gallon! But it's never gonna happen, i'm pretty sure. Still want to give your US gas prices to us in EU? You can have ours, no problem! ;D
@nsxdip WE have testet it, Our Forester 2.0 With 5 speed Low range Gearbox and a Forester Diesel with 6 Speed Gearbox. The 6 Speed doesn´t nedd Lowrange, becasue of over 350NM tourgue at 1,800rpm. It is the same uphill like, in First gear nearly like the Gas Engine with low range.
Subaru. Like a boss.

Let's make a deal: We want US gas prices in EU! :)))
(and I'll not mention car prices at this occasion..)

@Cvitamin
$3.25 a gallon? You can have them! Our goofey President has banned off shore drilling and
prices are skyrocketing! It's ridiculous. Anything overy $2.00 per gallon is tyrannical!

@Cvitamin
That is awful! It is out of control. The US is quickly headed toward those prices.
The solutions are simple...very simple, but our government WANTS high fuel prices.
