"It doesn't matter how strong you are, or how much training you got, when you strap up set your foot on a battlefield for the first time, it changes you forever."- Medal of Honor Pacific Assault.
I am a music producer and DJ, so I listen to music all day every day. This track is possibly my all time favourite. Shivers every time... Such a shame many people will never enjoy this, and listen to commercial music instead.
I don't know how to describe this..it just seems to me like this series was way more personal and struck home a little bit more than Band of Brothers. Don't get me wrong, I love and respect both series and the Veterans of both theaters. But The Pacific impacted me more.
I haven't seen this series yet, but this song chokes me up and fills me with pride every time I hear it. Amazing how music such as this can express emotions better than we could ever articulate them.
It is beautiful..It was because of my involvement with Sons of Valor and this music that I was able to discover what The Pacific was and I immediately became hooked. It's too bad it only ran for 10 episodes though.
Most irrefutably the most beautiful composition ever. A truly wonderful piece thank you for the upload and thank you Zimmer for this amazingly beautiful musical masterpiece.
A wise man once said "I know not with what weapons world war 3 will be fought, but i know world war 4 will be fought with sticks and stones". Don't know who i'm talking about? Einstein, that's who. And I see what he means.
@Arc9er True. Because we're going backwards with the way we think... It's terrible to think that people go to war because they are against a certain group of people. It's just so in-humane. But, and I quote Einstein here, "So long as there are men, there will be war."
When i listen to this song.. i remember how lucky we are that we live in a free world
RIP to the fallen on both sides: japs, americans, asutralian, british everybody who fought in the pacific and of course the prisoners of war that had been worked on the birma railway ( my grandpa was a prisoner in birma he luckly survived but many don't)
@rdwngsfan92 Heard so many great things about band of brothers but didn't got the chance to see it...and thanks for the reference, probably gonna be adding a new play list .
@patrickborro2000 You need to watch it as soon as you can. You haven't seen the truth about war until you've watched both Band of Brothers and The Pacific.
@RealDougal Okay, I'll take your word for it. Just glad that we didn't have to face any of these "disregard of human life" encounters in our own time.
@RealDougal Yup if you indeed join, but unlucky are those people in WW2 especially those who got drafted without any choice. But wishing still safe voyage to those in Afganistan.
@patrickborro2000 Especially the Russians. They suffered terribly - at the hands of either the Germans or their own leaders. They were trapped between a hammer and a sickle, no pun intended.
@RealDougal Don't have to feel sorry about them. I'm hungarian, in the ww2 they scared the shit out of the hungarians and other nations. They raped the girls, they drank the perfumes(!), and they took a shit in the middle of the living rooms. Fucking animals. And they occupied our country for 50 years.
@jtthabiggerfigger Everybody does bad things, and even though they gain condolences for what happened in the war, I know some countries can hate them for any number of reasons. Personally, I can't feel sorry for anything bad that happens to the brits. The fucking scumbags occupied my country for centuries, and then started crying when we fought back for what is rightfully ours. To each his own.
@shortysrule25 Good luck to ye, mate. I've read about a "lot" of people joining the American army on youtube, but I'll never be able to myself. I'm Irish lol
