Good review, nice bit of kit, however I opted for the Stainless steel Swedish military Trangia kit as you get more for your money and its a lot cheaper, two pans, burner & windshield for £23 of E-bay from militarymart..
Crusader, eh? I bet they don't have a lot of mooslims buying these :D
BTW, that aluminum-alzheimer's link is a myth. Aluminum is one of the most common elements on earth. Whenever you eat plants or animals or drink water, you ingest aluminum. Check out the myths section on alz dot org
Of course stainless is nice, but unless you have a sandwich bottom, and you cook "thick" stuff, the food tends to stick and burn due to steel's bad heat conduction properties.
@aseglkj A number of environmental factors have been put forward as possible contributory causes of Alzheimer's disease in some people. Among these is aluminium. There is circumstantial evidence linking this metal with Alzheimer's disease, but no causal relationship has yet been proved. As evidence for other causes continues to grow, a possible link with aluminium seems increasingly unlikely.
Nice review dude, thanks. You NEED to get yourself a tripod lol!
Always wondered about this piece of kit. You covered various aspects well, I might actually give this a go. The only thing I'm thinking is because I already have a Crusader kit, I can usually make do with just that.. Hmm.. Decisions!
What tent do you have btw? I'm a very curious person.. ;)
@Smith28Adventure I have now got a tripod but decided to do this one free hand. I also use the bcb cooking kit but only to boil water. This tin i use for food exclusively! As to my tent - check out episode one of my bushcraft series - have just uploaded it! Its the coleman avior x2 at the moment - also have a review of it on my channel. Thanks smith.
Its too bad they did not include some other pot/pans inside the main one... But you said you fill the space with other goods so i guess having the space might be nice... I just like having my space filled so there isnt any empty weight if you know what i mean.. Good review too!
