HI , i do have a Aiptek A-HD+ that also works as a DVR but every single time i got signal loss ( even for a few milliseconds ) the camera switch from DVR back to camera mode and it does it all the time , do you have the same problem with your MPVR ?
And that is it....that IS it alright, nice job. Looks like she would be lovely to fly. If you dont mind me asking how much did all that cost? excluding the plane...you can send me a message iif you like.
I like the gearbox; need one :) Was wondering too what people use for the monitor, and yours is perfect. I'm sure in time, FPV systems will come as complete systems and much lighter. And for the plane, is there anything more durable? I don't think so. The Easystar is so much fun to modify to suit almost any app.
In the lake part of the video, it looks like you live in a mountainous area. How high is it, and how does the plane perform at that altitude? Have you considered raising the motor in order to fit a larger propeller?
What do you recommend for controller and video frequencies?
@blurglide I was searching the post about why you want to fit the large propeller, and I can't find your post. Why exactly again do you need to again? Isn't a 6x4E good enough?
Increadibly well set out and thought out setup there scrtsqrl, beautifull machine, one question if i could ask, i noticed you have mechanical pan and tilt you say in the vid, with a 6 channel setup, as i have. How do you pan while still being able to use your alerons ?
Using pitch as tilt, in idle up i could have motor at set rpm and have control of camera, but unless i used landing gear channel to toggle between alerons and pan i cant work out how to do it ?
@jbanne1997 Ah right cheers for the reply, i dont have any potentiometers for ch5 or 6 on my futaba 6xp just simple switches, so guess that rules that one out
@jbanne1997 Ah right i see, problem is i need a channel for my blackstork osd thats turning up any day. Thats a whole other problm lol.
The info there is great, cheers for that, but my futaba 6exp doent have a potentiometer on ch5 or ch6. Im using it in heli mode so in idle up chn6 is pitch and actes as the tilt which works fine. Only a on / off switch on remaining free channel, is it possible to change switch to a potentiometer output ?
Also forgot to say that Im not very skilled at flying RC only because of the problem with the optical illusion thats produced during turns - I figure the since I have flown light aircraft ok and flight sims are easy - the nFPV would be a better ( easier? ) way to approach this problem. - Keep that in mind - Would a plane same make and model as your large wing be more suited to what Im aiming at? - and is FPV really easier to fly with an more " natural " than standing on the ground using RC?
G-day, hi from Sydney Aust. - Ive noticed on youtube a headset with a setup that will tilt the onboard cam an follow ahead movements. wouldnt that be easier ? - also, I d like your opinion on the best kind of RC plane to get for somone that wants big, slow FPV fun - Im not into speed and rolls ( etc ) just gentle cloud skimming and long range. - how much to set that up ?. - great video too by the way.!
i've flown mine now! first flight with EG wings even before ES wings. I tried the ES wings after that but i couldnt get used to fly without the ailerons :P
ive heard FPV with 2.4ghz like my dx6i is no good, there is supposed to be crappy range, and loss of signal if your plane wanders off behind a building or something.
Two hours of flight time :O You are able to keep the plane in air for two hours??? 3km meter range? This sounds too good to be true :O
Are you able to get the same performance with a 2.4ghz system? Do camcorders with the av*out* lead mean that they can also play footage from the wireless camera? When you bought the plane did you get the gyros with it, or did they come fitted? I'm looking at a site right now and it doesn't quite say.
wow great vid!idk why but it just seems like very high quality. ur easy is a rugged beast but man its got great stuff...how can u fly for over 2 hrs? gliding?
What range can I get with an 100mw video transmitter and 8dbi patch antenna on the ground
boomanfabo31 3 weeks ago
@boomanfabo31 Depends on the environment and your set-up. I got out to 2km on a 100mW VTx and probably could've gone out further...
jbanne1997 3 weeks ago
@jbanne1997 Sorry I ment to say 1000mw and 8dbi patch antenna not 100mw

There you have it, this baby is so heavy it doesn´t fly or we would have seen a flight video from the proud owner.

I have an older version. It is not HD capable. It records through video poor signals and does not revert to camera mode as you described.

@blurglide @blurglide what the hell would you want to raise the motor for? that would destabilize the CG and you have to recalibrate the CG again >:(

Was wandering how many servos your esc can run. Since it seems like your running 6 servos with the pan and tilt.
tflyer180 1 year ago
@tflyer180
There were 5 servos and 2 Gyros. I think I got away with that because I was running on 2s LiPos. BTW, I now use a UBEC.

@tflyer180 Sorry, I meant 6 servos, like you said...

thanks for the video it helped alot. I was wondering, what kind of range do you get with your setup?
i would also like to use my dx6i spektrum transmitter but im not sure what kind of receiver i would need for it, any advice...?

(I already have a receiver for a DX6i as well as a 900 Mhz video Tx lying around)

What's the weight on that setup of yours? Very impressive. I'd gone with some sort of OSD instead of all those gadgets in the nose though ;)
