  • First Lady FOR THE WIN! :D

  • That's my favorite soldier THOMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If the Roosevelt scene was even partially true, props to her.

  • Nope Rosie. That would make you full American. (and I'm canadian)

  • 15 seconds...... HA HA FUCK YOU RACIST ASSHOLE, The Tuskegee Airman had the highest enemy kill to pilot ratio per wing of WWII. Not to mention the 96 DFC's that were awarded.

  • @crasy26 I'm not sure if they had the highest kill-to-pilot ratio, but it is a fact that they never lost a single bomber to enemy fighters. (They did lose a small amount to anti-aircraft fire, but escort pilots can't do anything about that.)

  • I really think this version was a lot better acted then the new version "Red Tails" even the story line was better! to bad no CGI to help out back then!

  • @FWDORA9 No shit. "Red Tails" is f***ing awful.

  • @MsCaramello73- My thoughts exactly, I am a black American, not an African-American...

  • This is not just a movie, the movie is based on fact. You do realize that there are tuskegee airmen that are still alive with families who have real live stories to tell. Just like with jim crow laws, do you think the people that were mistreated are dead? Newsflash, my parents and grandparents and great grand parents are still living they are 56-11+ and they remember the events just as clear as day. They don't have to make anything up. That's just your excuse to try to diviate backlash.

  • @dangnai4181 stop buying into only what the media feeds you. You choose to believe what you want. Where I'm from I hang around black drs lawyers, teachers police, judges, firefighters, business owners. I grew up in a neighborhood where each black child lived with both their father and their mother in nice homes. It wouldn't be fare for me to say that all white people are serial killers and unibombers now would it. Your statement is very narrow.

  • I will never understand why some black want to deny africa. That's where we all came from weather you are jamaican, dominican, hatian, black american. How do you think we all got where we are now. We came from Africa. What are you ashamed of. You call yourself what you want but from my view point I am proud and feel power and strength of my ancestors. So if you don't mind I will continue to call myself African american instead of wanting to claim so badly the country that spits on you.

  • @rosieparez , I am of African descent for sure, but I don't know where those descendants come from on the continent. Even w/DNA testing, I'll only have a rough idea. What I know for sure is my American ancestry because of being stripped of my heritage and knowledge of who I am. This is my country, for better or for worse. This is what I know. There are Africans of every race/ethnicity who have emigrated to the US and become citizens. They are African-American. I am Black American

  • @johnhill96 that's your opinion if it annoys you but it annoys me when blacks don't use it. I'm not a surface level type person. You see hispanics, itallians, asians, ect are proud to tell you of their culture and say where they are from. Look at the hispanics and the irish. They even have parades for it. I have African blood running through my veigns, those are my roots. Just like a tree I don't care how tall it grows and what direction the wind blows you still have roots.

  • Who Is the racist senator / congressman? The actor plays a perfect A-hole!

  • @trippletear John Lithgow.

  • @Mrpillepalley341 Tuskegee Airmen beats the Nazis with ... -3 P-51

  • Tuskegee Airmen beatsnth

  • The first lady is awesome :)

  • I don´t get it. How 33rd fighter group is fighting in Africa when they´re planes P-51D. D model was released 1944. And mostly US planes in North Africa were P-40´s, P-38´s and A-20´s.

  • @TrueFinn1 it's a movie, not a documentary.

  • Yes, not all white people are racist.

If human society was going to think with brain other than ass the world was going to be a better place

  • i was a green card (cizizens with a green card earning their citizenship by serving in the U.S armed forces 3 out 4 yrs of good conduct service will earn ur citizenship) serving in the US Navy as a corpman during the war in Iraq and we were treated with as much disrespect as here. my division was called the united nations division. After I receive my citizenship i became a SAR swimmer bc no one in my ship wanted that job. i saved 2 fishermen from drowing in Bahrain.

  • i like this first ladies style haha

  • The beautiful P-51 Mustang

  • @Hickmaann90 I was just about to type this when I saw you'd already beaten me to it!

  • Ellenor - you fuckin rock!

  • Well, besides Elenor"s scene (which is why I love this film) I have to relate to Tank, Lee's Crew Chief ( yes, I'm and old retired Navy Aviation MCPO myself). "It's not your plane LT, It's mine". Had the great honor to meet some of these great men at Nellis AFB in NV back in 1996 while on Detachment from Lemoore California. Had lunch and talked about "our ladies" which we gave pilots the priveledge of flying. 50 years apart but we all spoke the "same language". We all loved our aircraft.

  • it annoys me when people use the term african-american... there is no such thing... your either african or american, it dosent make a difference what colour your skin is if you where born there than you are that nationality...

  • White people fought wars for black people's rights. Disgusting to see how later black people wern't allowed to fight for the white men's freedom.

  • where is the tuskegee paint for the p51's? Lol

  • @cut76 they just got their p-51s. it was tradition not to paint your aircraft until after your first mission

  • If they were on a jabo mission why didn't they get a load out of bombs ?Surely there was going to be some flak.... lame no realism

  • Did she really get in the plane with him?

  • @sunnydays4flwrs If so The First Lady got balls.

  • first lady roosevelt is a g!!

  • @tmcfootball96 what does that expression mean

  • @sistasoulja16 that is the most logical explanation, i highly doubt its a choice for sexual preference. like some people hate the taste of chicken and other love it.... is that really a choice?

whats so different about sexual preference. every gay person i know never once said "im gay because of choice"

  • if the African Americans had to go through this to fly for the stars and stripes.... i wonder what would have taken a Filipino pilot like Basa or Villamor to mount a fighter?

  • Black people back then were so good, now is mostly gangster :(

  • for the sake and honor of my ppl..if i was the pilot flying the first lady..i would of crash that fucking plane into a mountin or something

  • Whoever made this is just sloppy. Their tails should be painted red!

  • They are flying P51D models. During the war they were assigned C models.

  • @fidan2fast

    There are no Spitfires...

  • @UBIQUEROL I have made a terrible mistake, now I look stupid

  • @GKris1989 : this is just a movie, we don't know what really happened, I myself still can't understand why they wanted to get involved in a white mans war. some of them found out the hard way, not such a good idea.

  • @prozanine i guess they were just eager to fly.

  • wow for anyone who's actually a FIGHTER PILOT YOU KNOW THAT YOU NEVER say "fire" in a plane you say "shoot".

  • The Eleanor Roosevelt scene bothered me because in a two-seat biplane, the back seat is for the pilot and the front seat is for the passenger or copilot. Eleanor was in the wrong seat

  • @dunbar9finger it was a trainer. Both seats have controls on trainers.

  • The movie is a little inaccurate. The men are shown flying the P-51D but the D-model had not come out yet and the Tuskegee airmen were flying P-40s

  • at the time

  • @GKris1989 they did fly the d version, roscoe c brown shot down a 262 in one of them, there is a poster of brown and "bunnie", a d version of the mustang, really easy to find

  • Eleanor Roosevelt has always been on my list of ppl, dead or alive, that I would love to have dinner with

  • Strange WW2 movie no romance? No women? I suppose the subject of even north African women with a black man was a little bit too much for American audiencies.

  • WTF? AMERICANS WERE IN MOROCCO!!!!??????

  • @spanish111japan Yeah, small contingency.

  • @spanish111japan yes alot of world war 2 was faught in africa lol

  • @Evilstewie831 I know, but in Morocco? o_O

  • in my high school the tuskegee airmen come to the AFJROTC Awards Banquet every year and i actually had to do guard duty while one of them ate his food....it was so much fun

  • 9:20 to 9:46 Fuckin' some shit up, yo.

  • OMG... THE NERDY BLACK FROM GLORY!!!

  • It's so nice when the enemy soldiers are low on fuel and ammunition!

It helps avoid the bothersome problem of the Germans, you know, shooting back. Oh, I hate it when that happens.

  • i remmember wen i was in 6th grade i seen the real Tuskegee Airmen

  • and their mustangs were redtailed not just silver

  • they flew the older p51 model C, model D was reserved for white pilots

  • no

    332nd pilots shot up a couple of 262s in P-51 D's

  • o did u kno that the tuskegee airmen NEVER lasT ONE pilot in combat and shot down more German Luftwaffe then any other air core

It just goes to show u that in the face of oppression, people can achieve won-deres things

  • um they did lose planes, (though they were pretty good).

    I researched a bit...

  • No... they never lost a Bomber to their escort, but plenty of tuskegee's were lost saddly.

  • they didn't fly those p-51's they flew the first ones with the square canopy i believe

  • You're right. Regarding your "square canopy" P-51s: the North American P-51s before the -D model were "razor-backs" (more like the old Curtis P-40 Warhawk or the early "razor-back" Republic P-47s). They lacked the -D's gorgeous bubble canopy. But they were actually faster.

  • Why were they faster? I would think the bubble canopy's were much more aerodynamic.

  • The bubble canopy gave a better view (the older one was more streemlined) and it was only about 10Km slower which was more due to greater weight from new guns and fuel tanks.

  • think the flew the c model

  • it even took a visit from the president's wife, to make sure they were passed on a equal basis and that they had the skills.

that is how bad most of the white officers there were towards them.

i wish they were treated equally back then.

  • it was a nice effort, and im glad they succeeded.

but you cant "earn" your wings from a bigot.

that is exactly why there must be direct laws that are effective AGAINST bigotry, before the victim of bigotry can really succeed.

ofcourse, people can learn how to fly.

but the laws against bigotry makes the accomodations suitable for teaching everyone equally.

thats my 2 cents on it.

  • excuse me, but shouldn't they be flying P-40's instead of P-51's?

  • They have flown P51's as well

  • @DrPepx They started out with 40's, but as the war progressed and the planes had to compete with German aviation, they upgraded to 51's, just in time for the raids over Austria.

  • "you have arrived" awesome.

  • Think about it....Young men who learn to fly, you have to calculate your fuel consumption, how much ammo in minutes you have left, and compass direction to rendevous with the allied bombers. Just a group of outstanding americans. Woohoo!

  • This is such a Great and Powerful Movie...Its too bad many people of Today don't even remember the true story of the Tuskeegee Airmen...

  • The Blacks should have been treated with respect back then.

  • tell that to the white guys that were shot up during the war, they were treated any better.

  • @RMSTitanic87 they were just not by all.

  • Is It what this plane is?The pilot is Lee Archer?

  • Eleanor Roosevelt is the best...

  • The Whites are Racists!

  • No more racist as blacks against the orientals which I witnessed first hand as a White Oakland, CA Teacher.

  • As a teacher, I would expect more out of you than the broad generalization that you just made against a whole race. That's a shame, really.

  • Are all whites racist ?

  • @mikejunior80:

No not all whites are racist.

    even during Slavery and segregation

times there were many whites fighting

    for African American rights

  • @9N8X The film Amistad is a prime example to take note of, and it's based on a true story too.

  • @9N8X Correct, racism is learned, it's fear.

And I do not call blacks "African Americans," nothing wrong with calling black people black.

  • @9N8X yes but the majority of the white population back then wanted segregation.... Same with us today. why do you think it's so hard to pass a gay marriage bill in America. Because the majority of straight people think that gays are still weird. Same with what the white people thought of the blacks back then

yes there were a select few white people that didn't want segregation and fought for african american rights.... but there were a hundred times more fighting for segregation

  • @Willsturd i don't honestly think, no, no, you can't honestly compare racism and segregation of black people to the issues with homosexuals now...you can not compare race and sexual preference...one is controlled, the other is not...

  • @sistasoulja16 sexual preference isn't controlled..... there is a chemical imbalance in the brain. If it was controlled shouldnt there be a shitload of more gay/bi people out there?

  • @Willsturd

we'll never agree on this...i don't think its a chemical imbalance in the brain b/c then it could be diagonsed like depression or schizophrenia which are both due to some type of imbalance in the brain...but like i said we'll never agree but one thing that is for sure is the fact that race is not controlled and that it can not be compared to homosexuality...

  • @9N8X You are right!! John Brown didn't like slavery nor white racists he simply killed them pity he got hanged, but he did take out quite a few white racists along the way. Nat Turner sent many white slave owners to the after life too however, both inspired by the slave revolt in Haiti I think the Tuskegee Airmen are amazing, I don't think any black person should put his/her life on the line for America or Britain if they hate us so much let them do their own killing.

  • @9N8X Very true however more are then aren't, or this country would truly be great. One day maybe!

  • @samir3323 And you don't view that generalization of an entire racial group as Racism also?

  • @KellAnderson Nope just telling the truth.Another thing whites aren't big on! Do you not benefit from the misery of millions of black slaves?

  • Black will power!

  • cool
