15 seconds...... HA HA FUCK YOU RACIST ASSHOLE, The Tuskegee Airman had the highest enemy kill to pilot ratio per wing of WWII. Not to mention the 96 DFC's that were awarded.
@crasy26 I'm not sure if they had the highest kill-to-pilot ratio, but it is a fact that they never lost a single bomber to enemy fighters. (They did lose a small amount to anti-aircraft fire, but escort pilots can't do anything about that.)
I really think this version was a lot better acted then the new version "Red Tails" even the story line was better! to bad no CGI to help out back then!
This is not just a movie, the movie is based on fact. You do realize that there are tuskegee airmen that are still alive with families who have real live stories to tell. Just like with jim crow laws, do you think the people that were mistreated are dead? Newsflash, my parents and grandparents and great grand parents are still living they are 56-11+ and they remember the events just as clear as day. They don't have to make anything up. That's just your excuse to try to diviate backlash.
@dangnai4181 stop buying into only what the media feeds you. You choose to believe what you want. Where I'm from I hang around black drs lawyers, teachers police, judges, firefighters, business owners. I grew up in a neighborhood where each black child lived with both their father and their mother in nice homes. It wouldn't be fare for me to say that all white people are serial killers and unibombers now would it. Your statement is very narrow.
I will never understand why some black want to deny africa. That's where we all came from weather you are jamaican, dominican, hatian, black american. How do you think we all got where we are now. We came from Africa. What are you ashamed of. You call yourself what you want but from my view point I am proud and feel power and strength of my ancestors. So if you don't mind I will continue to call myself African american instead of wanting to claim so badly the country that spits on you.
@rosieparez , I am of African descent for sure, but I don't know where those descendants come from on the continent. Even w/DNA testing, I'll only have a rough idea. What I know for sure is my American ancestry because of being stripped of my heritage and knowledge of who I am. This is my country, for better or for worse. This is what I know. There are Africans of every race/ethnicity who have emigrated to the US and become citizens. They are African-American. I am Black American
@johnhill96 that's your opinion if it annoys you but it annoys me when blacks don't use it. I'm not a surface level type person. You see hispanics, itallians, asians, ect are proud to tell you of their culture and say where they are from. Look at the hispanics and the irish. They even have parades for it. I have African blood running through my veigns, those are my roots. Just like a tree I don't care how tall it grows and what direction the wind blows you still have roots.
I don´t get it. How 33rd fighter group is fighting in Africa when they´re planes P-51D. D model was released 1944. And mostly US planes in North Africa were P-40´s, P-38´s and A-20´s.
i was a green card (cizizens with a green card earning their citizenship by serving in the U.S armed forces 3 out 4 yrs of good conduct service will earn ur citizenship) serving in the US Navy as a corpman during the war in Iraq and we were treated with as much disrespect as here. my division was called the united nations division. After I receive my citizenship i became a SAR swimmer bc no one in my ship wanted that job. i saved 2 fishermen from drowing in Bahrain.
14 years after the Little Big Horn, the 7th Cavalry was entrapped in a box canyon, and if it wasn't for the 9th Cavalry, there would have been a second massacre of the 7th Cav.

Read the epic novel, "Rescue at Pine Ridge", 5 stars Amazon, and Barnes & Noble.
Well, besides Elenor"s scene (which is why I love this film) I have to relate to Tank, Lee's Crew Chief ( yes, I'm and old retired Navy Aviation MCPO myself). "It's not your plane LT, It's mine". Had the great honor to meet some of these great men at Nellis AFB in NV back in 1996 while on Detachment from Lemoore California. Had lunch and talked about "our ladies" which we gave pilots the priveledge of flying. 50 years apart but we all spoke the "same language". We all loved our aircraft.
it annoys me when people use the term african-american... there is no such thing... your either african or american, it dosent make a difference what colour your skin is if you where born there than you are that nationality...
@sistasoulja16 that is the most logical explanation, i highly doubt its a choice for sexual preference. like some people hate the taste of chicken and other love it.... is that really a choice?
whats so different about sexual preference. every gay person i know never once said "im gay because of choice"
if the African Americans had to go through this to fly for the stars and stripes.... i wonder what would have taken a Filipino pilot like Basa or Villamor to mount a fighter?
@GKris1989 : this is just a movie, we don't know what really happened, I myself still can't understand why they wanted to get involved in a white mans war. some of them found out the hard way, not such a good idea.
The Eleanor Roosevelt scene bothered me because in a two-seat biplane, the back seat is for the pilot and the front seat is for the passenger or copilot. Eleanor was in the wrong seat
@GKris1989 they did fly the d version, roscoe c brown shot down a 262 in one of them, there is a poster of brown and "bunnie", a d version of the mustang, really easy to find
Strange WW2 movie no romance? No women? I suppose the subject of even north African women with a black man was a little bit too much for American audiencies.
in my high school the tuskegee airmen come to the AFJROTC Awards Banquet every year and i actually had to do guard duty while one of them ate his food....it was so much fun

Sundual81186 2 years ago 2
it was a nice effort, and im glad they succeeded.
but you cant "earn" your wings from a bigot.
that is exactly why there must be direct laws that are effective AGAINST bigotry, before the victim of bigotry can really succeed.
ofcourse, people can learn how to fly.
but the laws against bigotry makes the accomodations suitable for teaching everyone equally.
thats my 2 cents on it.
