  • In the summer break of 2009, me and my grandad, who was recovering from a cancer operation at the time, watched all of the Laurel and Hardy films available on the laurel and hardy boxset. • 9 people where hit on the head :)

  • Angels. So pure!

  • I have LOVED this ever since I saw it as a child ... I never forgot it! Sublime, thank you!

  • If you're ever feeling less than good, just watch this & let Mr Laurel and Mr Hardy give you your mojo back. Long may they reign!

  • Wonderful!!! Though of the second song i do prefer the italian version "gli asini nel ciel", even if it is completely different from the original one...

  • I do not know how 9 people dare dislike this absolute brilliance.

  • Stan could play the piano..but he didn't play any other musical instrument.

  • Its so Fantastic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Delightful

I miss this sort of magic

I'm sure you all do too

  • Great as silent comics but even better w sound. What a sweet voice Ollie had! Comedy at its purest & most innocent: Laurel & Hardy will live forever more.

  • What Movie was this from?

  • @wmckiern Way out West (Trail Of The Lonesome Pine) and Flying Deuces (Harvest Moon and Bed Harp)

  • i just this last night? and i was laughing so hard THANK YOU LAUREL AND HARDY FOR MAKING ME LAUGH AGAIN I LOVE YOU BOTH!

  • I have the great priveledge of having many of their short subjects... One of the best comedy teams of all time, bar none.

  • True well rounded talent, nice guys. Can't be topped!

  • Who's the singer with the guitar? Anyone know who this was? I think he was part of the Avalon Boys with Chill Wills.

  • Do you realise The Lonesome Pine was CRUELLY kept off the Christmas Number One spot in 1975 by some weak little ditty called Bohemian Rhapsody? 3. I Believe In Father Christmas - Greg Lake, 2. LP 1. Bo Rap. Don't get charts like that any more :-(

  • @Chappers1967 Spooky, the first two singles I ever bought were Trail of The Lonesome Pine and Bohemian Rhapsody, both on the same day from the same record shop. If I'd just bought this, maybe I could have changed music history, spooky!

  • they were great .and they will never be forgotten or or ever bettered.

  • ricky gervais and karl pilkington should do the lonesome pine omg that would be heaven lol

  • Thank you for posting this! They were wonderful!

  • This is real magic - Coming from the silent era they use there facial & body movements like tools - truly beyound compare. No one will evercome close to these wonderful actors. Wish someone whould do something with all there great films.

  • such comedy not out on the tv nowdays they were buried seperate when in life they were together thanks for upload

  • Very very early MTV

  • thumbs up for Laurel and Hardy!

  • You don't see good and innocent stuff like this anymore. Favorite in this is Harvest Moon, moslty for the dancing and for Ollie singing that song so wonderfully.

  • so far ahead of their time, complete and utter legends, sadly never see their likes again

  • I remember watching these with my grandfather when i was really young, especially when stan plays the harp/bed or whatever lol. It's really great, i could almost cry just thinking about it.

  • I hope it's cloudy tomorra

  • These two are brilliant, they're really popular in England. My gran went to see them live once.

  • Lurel and Hardy have been traditions in my life since I was born. Ny favorite moment, thoguh it;s not perticularly comedy, is in the prison cell in The Flying Deuces, as Stan plays his little tune, "The World is Waiting for Sunrise." He does a fantasic job making his "cot playing" look like "harp playing." R.I.P. Both of you. Thanks for the laughs.

  • Supurb stuff.

  • Perfect!

  • Laurel singing deep then high. LOL!

  • Abolutly love this..wow dont half take me back..loved these guys R.I.P you wonderful legends..loves ya..Ann:)

Rightly in the annals of ultimate comedy.

  • i have the full episodes on my channel i will be uplode more for any one that love,s Laruel&Hardy

  • No one came close to these, even abbott and costello couldnt kiss their boots.

  • Went to the theatre last night to see a play about stan and ollie. and my wife came she said she would not enjoy it as she hated laural and hardy ? told me that in the bar when we got there ! There where only two pople in the play who played Stan and Ollie. The props where minimal. But the play told there life storys, and the two actors where great. We both learned a lot. and when we came out we went for a beer , And she turned round and said ok im converted i now love them JOB DONE.

  • @derek6678421

How long did it take for her to convert

my 3yr old grandkids LOVE Laurel & Hardy

As much now as I did 50+yearsago

i can still watch them now with as much zest as a 3year old too

    you can have the GREATEST

    You can have the b=BEST

but when you have The Greatest and The Best together

    You have it all

    They had it ALL

  • Great clips of two of the greatest comic actors of all time.Thankyou for this video.Imagine stan on the xfactor.

  • So beautiful. They were absoluetly peerless, and, as Hardy sings "Shine On Harvest Moon", Laurel's inspired dancing is pure Vaudeville. This brings a lump to my throat, and a tear to my eye.

  • 5 people didn't have a childhood.

  • MA-GNI-FI-QUE <:o)

  • They are wonderfull, I love to watch them....they never fail to make me laugh, but I feel there is something else in there, something that l cannot quite put my finger on, maybe we all realy do love them guys...

  • The last one is my favourite where stan uses the bed as a harp lol. Funny and brilliant at the same time. Best comedy duo of all time. They were the best there was and the best there ever will be.

  • Great skits, especially the last third one. I love their 1930s harmonies -- I think Syd Barrett of Pink Floyd was heavily influenced by this kind of music.

  • Great skits. I love their 1930s harmonies -- I think Syd Barrett of Pink Floyd was heavily influenced by this kind of music.

  • The perfect double act. Simply wonderful.

  • there will never be another duo like these 2. they were unique!!! ive got all their movies. amazing footage that has been making me laugh for over 30 years lol

  • this is my most favourite song, i can remember when this entered the top uk 40 charts lol but it is still great, cant beat them x

  • I used to watch this footages when I was still very young ofcos in 90's. My dad and step mom loved them so much we could laugh out like hell, sadly that is the onlything I remember abt her.

I watch them today and remember my step mom... Laugh so hard and I jst bow. Laurel and Hardy are my all time favorites no doubt abt that.

  • Glorious

  • I am SO THANKFUL to you for posting this wonderful Vid. I saw this several times as a very young child, and you brought back so many memories for me. I still cant help but laugh so hard my ribs hurt from joy everytime I See this magnificent duo in the element that made them so well known. Its like the Bow (Stan) playing the bass fiddle ( Ollie ) Their films still remain solid gold. Once again, Thanks for the post.

  • I wanted to mention how wonderful Stan and Ollie were doing their soft shoe (tapping) to Harvest Moon!! I didn't think Ollie could do it!! I was wrong!! The gentle souls were the absolute finest comeadians of all time. It was a good think Ollie had that - either a turkey drum stick or chicken leg- when the Hal Roach Studios put the boys together. For the whole story on that check out on YOU TUBE the video of Stan and Ollie on THIS IS YOUR LIFE!! IT IS GREAT!!!

  • the boys at their best!!!! thanx or posting this!!!

  • what a classic

  • Stan anfd Ollie,Great actors/singers extraordinary,What is to be remembered however is that The Lonesome Pine was only kept off the number 1 slot by Bohemian Rhapsody.

  • What wonderful voice Ollie had!! I found out on THIS IS YOUR LIFE they did on the boys! Ollie stated he was part of a group of singers in his youth. I can tell!!

  • Why do I think we're missing out so much these days......Its a shame but we've lost the point........

  • The third song was "The World is Waiting for the Sunrise."

  • @feltonite thanks for the info!

  • The absolute pinnacle of showmanship and genius...legends forever.

  • Great comedy never dates, & this is nigh on a century old. Stan & Ollie are immortal.

  • Laurel and hardy rules!! i'm so glad my grandpa told me about them and gave me all their tapes!

  • I just realized this,,, Both Stan and Ollie knew how to tap dance very well! It shouldn't surprise me, as they were consumate comedians of all time!! Rest in peace boys..

  • THEY WILL LIVE ON IN MY HEART AND SOUL FOREVER AND IT'S MY WAY OF COPING WITH MY INCURABLE SICKNESS WHICH I WAS BORN WITH.

  • I have the 2 Beau Hunks records :)

  • this is proof that you don't need to use profanity in movies to get a big laugh, the singing and dancing are just lovelly

  • LEGENDS

  • WARM SMILES :) TY

  • Does anyone know if Stan really knew how to play the harp? I am assuming it was a musican off camera.

  • @shalompeace1321 it was a musican off camera :)

  • @Tjoppy Thanks-that is what I thought! ! If you watch REALLY close, Stan is, at one point a bit behind the musician- but it is still EXCELLENT!! These two comedians can never be replaced- they were one in a million!!

  • @Tjoppy well actualy he did play that harp along with the piano theres an example of his music in south sheilds south tyne side northeast of england were hes from

  • i totaly agree with everyone on here they were and always will be the best comedy duo ever to set foot on this planet. r.i.p.boys we shall never forget....

  • Ive just watched the Sons of the desert' simply awesome. Next is Tit for Tat...

  • I will never forget Laurel and Hardy they were the best and pure genius, I can see where other greats got their inspiration from.

Long Live Laurel and Hardy XXX

  • I often pass by Stan & Ollie's statue in Ulverston. People pat Stan on the head for luck. My grandchildren love L & Hs ageless humour & fun

  • I grew up on these two.....I just love them

  • LOVE LAUREL AND HARDY SO MUCH!

  • Laurel & Hardy, were and always will be THE #1 comedy team in history!! I am a long time member of one of the original SONS OF THE DESERT - Laurel and Hardy fan club. Each month we gather for a fantastic dinner and then watch the GREAT LAUREL AND HARDY MOVIES AND CLASSIC CARTOONS. i love it!!

  • They really don't make them like this any more. Laurel & Hardy are legends that we will never see again!

  • I agree. The ultimate duo !!!

  • The BEST COMEDY TEAM EVER!!! YOU must show your children and grandchildren their movies- to keep Laurel and Hardy alive! They were THE BEST EVER!!! Thank you so much for sharing your talent with the world. We are all better for it!! May your memories last forever and a day.

  • does anyone know where i can find the clip where they are on scaffolding and ollie has a crab down his pants, so funny, dont know what its called

  • I don't know if it's on YT but I think the title is 'Liberty'.

  • @Tjoppy Yes it is Liberty.

  • I love the boys song clips! Heart warming.....

  • I love them both-been to the museum in ulveston and sat in the mini-cinema there watching their films for hours, even though seen them 1000's times before.

  • where ever u 2 r ..u must b making someone happy ....u 2 was ...r...and allways b number 1..

  • Agreed and when i pass on i hope to see them and hug them both!

  • Dat was zalig, man ! Bedankt ! :-)

  • The way ollie looks straight into the camera when stan makes a blunder is priceless.....You will also see the skipper on gilligan's island copy ollie and look into the camera sometime's when gilligan makes a blunder.

  • Yes this is absolutely brilliant and so funny. Ollie ( and Stan ) was a genius , that tiny little gesture / look was funnier than 100 words / actions. It still works well and has been copied by numerous comedians / actors since. R

  • Sorry PC went down got cut off there! I was going to say Roger Moore used to use this device in "The Saint " as did Tom Bakers Doctor Who . They could inject a bit of humour into a serious situation and bring a smile to your face with this little tiny thing that Ollie invented. Numerous other comedians have used it to good effect over the years , some good ( like Ronnie Barker ) and some not so good ( Chuckle Brothers ). It always works well even for the not so good ones

  • The greatest comedy act ever to walk the earth. Such a different world we live in today.

  • just a classic trio. never to be replaced.

  • @weegeorgie1 Cool! I am 14, and I love Laurel and Hardy, it is one of my favorite old films!

  • used to watch this then harold lloyd, that was pretty good too,

  • I used to watch them and the 3 Stooges before the movie on Saturday at the theater. The Oliver Hardy Museum is in HARLEM GEORGIA.THE ONLY OTHER ONE IS FOR STAN LAUREL IN GREAT BRITIAN.

  • They're supposed to be "shot at sunrise"..the song that Stan plays on the "harp" is: "The World Is Waiting For The Sunrise"

  • What a tonic !!! Just what I needed,

Thanks for sharing this hilarious post.

  • Thank you for posting this video. I enjoy yesteryear's American movies as well a Russian who LEGALLY immigrated into America and ended up composing songs such as "God Bless America". His name was Irving Berlin.

I love the way they sing "Shine on Harvest Moon" over here. Laurel and Hardy are among my favorite humorists. Again, many thanks.

  • I can't imagine a life lived without having experienced the sweet, sublime Laurel and Hardy! They are transcendent in their simplicity. I feel for them like good friends I can always return to when I feel blue. None like them will ever pass through this Universe ever again--thank God for the enormous gift!

  • Luv it, nice one xx

  • I just love the parody on harpo marx:-)))

  • timeless even now this is as fresh and as funny as it was originaly, thank you for sharing xxx

  • "I'll play you another one now" HAHA! God I miss them so...

  • There is no greater comedy team than Laurel and Hardy! I have such a love and appreciation for everything they brought to film. I am so thankful to them for all the laughter they bring to my life! Laurel and Hardy the Greatest of all time!

  • Ha! Stan really smashed that spitoon when he hit the floor!

  • Great and remembers me to the good old times when i watched with my brother as children the movies in the TV....

  • Oliver Hardy had a great singing voice & was so graceful for a man of his size. I just love them.

  • @princewac i found this book called stars and films 1938,and it says that oilver hardy was born in atlanta georgia , jan1892 he weighs 20st,4 lb began his career as a tenor in vaudeville, this took him to los angles and he made films for the old lubin company and co directed with larry semon. and for some years acted in silent films with hal roach company and then met stanley laurel in 1927, and the rest is history......

  • Love it!!

  • I loved that harp bed part from childhood till now. :D

  • The best ever!!!

  • love them t

  • This is great, thankyou for showing, I love Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy!!!

  • Stan and Ollie were legends - they both lived between kinnegad and castlejordan during the

    along of 'Way out West'!

  • These two were heaven sent, divine, and peerless.

  • @Hunterunc

I second that emotion, Hunterunc! L&H proved that people can be entertainted & persuaded to laugh without the use of vulgarity & profanity. Many of today's so-called "comics" could learn a thing from Stan & Ollie! THANKS for your insightful comment! :)

  • the wife got me their boxset last xmas, their legends, hopefully i can sweet talk her into gettin me the marx bro's dis xmas. :)

  • Funniest thing i,ve ever seen,the best duo ever!!thanks!!
