  • I understand your concern. Not really a with the STS rear mount turbo since it does not get red hot at all which pits the bearings. Turbos go bad due to whaling on them for minutes on end and then shutting them off immediately. When driven though I wait a couple minutes just to be safe. Does not hurt to be careful..... finally getting car back with a retune at 15psi next week... will try to post some new videos and show what it can do.

  • wow nice way to kill a turbo rev it up then shut it off

  • Still running speed density if so how many times did you have to reprogram the chip

  • Could you send me some pictures of the boost pipe routing into/out of the intercooler? Also pictures where the intercooler is mounted? I also have a 1993 TransAm with sts kit.. just finished rebuilding the engine and will be starting it later this week.. everything forged but no intercooler yet.. Thank you

  • Yes there are some 400-500 rwhp 383 motors out there with big cams or NOS. Always wanted to do a Turbo LT1....spool is very different. First dyno was putting 620rwhp at 12psi and very rich. Now motor has 1000 miles on it..New dyno to be done and in shop as I write. Leaning it out a little and hoping close to 650-670rwhp is possible at same boost but dont want to push it being too lean or too much boost 16-18psi. Hard to believe this motor is18 years old..will post new vid in a week or so.

  • i gotta 383 stroker running 11.06 im rebuilding it then im boosting her. im at 450at the wheels already

  • Great ride! I got a 94 which I will modify when the time is right. Love what you did with the nose its functional and looks mean and that fighter jet like sound the the turbo makes!

  • did you mount the turbo with no filter? it looks like you still have dual exhaust

  • how much did it cost to have forged parts dropped into the engine?

  • @Sk8FalIen 7000 dollars for fully forged built stage 2 head by Golen Engine Service. Supposed to handle 15psi no problem. Running 12 psi now and about to raise rev limiter from 5500 to 6200 ish and may jump it to 14 psi. Don't want to push it too much. 700 is plenty.......Hell theses engine barely put out a little under 300 N/A

  • @Wilddr805 Exactly...I will be doing a retune in about a month since I have fixed a few items on the car..stereo...gauges...steering wheel rebuild kit...pully queel..alignment..updates ceneter console and put new rubbers on car which stick like glue...NT05 nittos..will post soon after tune and repaint of same color...deciding on corbeau or cobra racing seats...recaros are pricey.

  • @Wilddr805 Stock 300hp yes... There are 500+ RWHP N/A LT's out there. look around on youtube. Nice bird also!

  • @Sk8FalIen $7000 dollars for fully built crate engine to handle 15psi..stage 2 heads etc.

  • Factory lt1 balancers are not keyed. Anyways if it's aftermarket and has one and keeps breaking it's got to be something in the serpentine system creating too much drag

  • what have you done to the bottom end to handle all this power? because a buddy of mine has a 700hp vortech blown 383 stroker LT1 in his 97 maro and hes havin trouble handlin the power and he keeps breaking the key on the harmonic balancer

  • Has not broken anything yet and hope it stays that way for a long time. I have a dampner on the car and still breaking motor in. Have limiter set low at 5500 and want to elminate some pressure in valve covers. Breather can seep a little oil on aggressive driving. Put some new NITTO NT05 tires and no longer spinning in third gear which is nice. The bottom END on the car is fully forged at 8.5:1 and I believe they are Eagle Crank and SRP pistons. Can double check as Golen Engine did it.

  • @Wilddr805 nice... well 8.5:1 compression and an iron block is just asking for boost... nice car man, props.

  • OMG, fap, fap, fap, fap, ahhhhhhhhh!!!! Sorry, no shame in that right?

  • What's your static compression ratio?

  • Nice. Have you dyno'ed it yet?

  • i loved the part, i got some guages over here, that front bumper is unique and i understand the reasoning but its ugly luckily most will only be seeing the ass end

  • I'm in love. Absolutley BADASS.

  • Its very nice, very nice except for the front bumper. Did you have to do that?

  • @jayrod2 I wanted to get a lot of cool air to the intercooler but I may go back to factory fog lights. Getting older and I like the sleeper EFFECT and am sure it will be still pretty cool. Will need to get some nice small fog lights in there.

  • ive already started my 383 build. but those sts kits are like 6grand!

  • @xz28camaro They run about that....it all depends what you want in the long run. You have superchargers, big nitrous kits which would be the cheapest and/or combo it with a nasty cam. I chose a turbo because I want to be different than then usual run the mill builds. V8 turbo spool is very unique in its own right. A 383 should be plenty of fun either way as these cars are seen less and less on the road.

  • @Wilddr805 yeah im waiting for my block to come back from the machine shop. balenced and blue printed.

  • holy shit!!!!!! want to do this wayy to bad.

  • @xz28camaro It is a nice setup to compete with all the big horsepower cars out these days. Once it hooks up it really walks away in third and fourth. Will post some moving videos next after motor is broken in.
