I have a question, do you also have the extras such as the fusion suit also incorporated in the WII version? (I know that the Original Metroid is included free on the VC)

@RawHunterX Yes, all the extras from the original GC version are there except the original Metroid game.

@tigerstarkillz By flicking the Wii Remote up. There's no way to do it in the Gamecube version.

on a technical level, the graphics may be outdated, but the superb art-direction means that visually, this game still holds up today.

yeah, for its time, it was great. still is if you appreciate the old graphics like i do. also it looks better now thanks to bloom lighting effects, makes things pop out more and seem more colorful

Hmm. How do you change beams in this version? In Corruption, the beams stacked, so that wasn't an issue.

Well, since there's no Hyper Mode in this one, you can hold down + to change the beams like the visors.

Seems alot easier to jump with the morphball compared to bombjumping in the GC version... But you can get way higher using bombs =)

Yeah, i selected it. But it only changes the H.U.D text. Like when you switch a beam and stuff.

What I don't get is, since Retro is an American developer, why did Japan get the game first?

Because i want to play it! I don't think region locking is fair. I see no point to it whatsoever. My Wii is perfectly capable of playing the game, but it won''t let you? That's just dumb. I don't see any advantages of region locking things.

But about Japan getting it first, i think the developers that made the Wii version are from Japan. So it makes sense why they got it first.

Well, Retro might be the creators, but Nintendo is a Japanese company, and it owns Retro.

By the way, can you "scan-dash" ? You know, while scaning something pressing the B button to dash on a side. The same trick to do the Space Jump boots "glitch" at the beginning.

i got this yesterday.. playing on my US wii with softmii installed works like a charm :D i just got the wave beam but it feels awkward not sequence breaking like the gc version

Are you able to scan dash? If this game is exactly like MP3, then guess not. This really isn't something to buy (no sequence breaking means barely any replayability), but if it has extra unlockable thanks to the tokens, then that would be cool.

Also, how WOULD you unlock the Fusion Suit and NES Metroid? I doubt you could do it the same way as you did for the Gamecube version.

I doubt you can scan dash. They had already taken it out in the gamecube players choice version.

As for the Fusion Suit, i really think that it's an unlockable with the tokens you get. I'll find out after i beat it.

Your assumption on the Fusion Suit is correct. Although I'm guessing you've all ready unlocked it.

How are the other unlockables? I heard you can now purchase songs with the system? Do you by chance know how many songs you can listen to, etc?

I got the game from play-aisa. I have a U.S Wii, so to get the game to run, i use the homebrew channel and a app called Gecko OS.
