i gota make a point about this.. bboy/mc community relationship. cuz like, i dont feel like a lot of mc's care much about bboying, much less dancin. of course there are exceptions depending on the artist. but i'd like to see more bboys getting more credit and recognition instead of having mc's racking in millions. it just feels so imbalanced to me sometimes
for me bboying isnt about the entertainment but about the culture. taking in the old, making it new, making it your own personal style. if the audience isnt stunned by what they see, who cares, its not for them, its for us. they need to get educated in the culture. its like that also for a lot of bboys.
i really like how ynot talks about bboy ing audiences. i myself am a big fan of foundation and original bboying. when audiences see that, they don't understand the full aspect of it and so theyre not entertained. only when a powerhead comes out they are, because its eye catching.
LOL, as if the battle of the year determines the direction of BBoying, and Hip Hop. The point is that no matter where BBoying is most popular you must always remember its roots.
but not all korea bboys are bad, some are realy, realy, realy good just like JInjo,TG breakers,Rivers,Drifterz.I wasn't right about them.Every country is good.
ur wrong papa.. the past mentality yes it was wack but now korea, france, sweden and plenty of other countries are funky as fuk!! u better start looking them up before u get SMOKED!
korea in this time is high lvl, don't talk stupid thinks becouse korean bboys combain a dynamic style with great powers and they have great character with they dance. They don't forggot about tops and foots. They use them like a powers .
thers are people who likes powermoves and tricks more than footwork and listening to music. its nuthin about this contry does style and that country does power thats bull
And what kind of style are you talking about that would relate to POWERMOVES,and im not againsed power, it takes a lot of effort to do powermoves, much respect, but realy and truly theres only one style that HIP-HOP whants its bboying to be prezerved is like KENSWIFT,and dont forget this,it takes a lot of POWER to controle STYLE?-peace my BROTHER.
breakdancing was at its toll after the 90s,more and more new moves where being invented, and this form of breaking was called POWER MOVES,so much excitemante,so much headspins in hellmits, and hayloes,in this era or after the main powerman was STORM from germany,he had style but not the same style as the old cats that i mentioned,as powermoves advances, you cant tell anyone that style can be in power, cause powermoves are too wide to controle with in style.
back then, crazy legs invented windmills, some used to call it the Hellicopter,or Kid freeze from the Dynamic rockers, later was called dynamic breakers used to do pumps, and Icy ice used to do the Atomic Bomb, flares, and icy ice was a gymnast, todays Powermoves then it was called Airmoves, yes old skool bboys did do big moves with style only cause there were little to start off from then,it was done in style cause they were old skool,as from 85/86bboying slowed down, which as you know in europe
To leoplusbob-no dought brother, back in the days bboys like icy ice, powerfull pexter, little alex, freddy fresh, and like them, thier style of breaking did have style and power, but mostly style, cause these cats comes from the era of 79/83 after 84/85 like everything else life moves on,after the film beat street younger generation didnt know anything about the original ground work bboying, which its moves can go endlessly,as like today you dont get to see a lot of people doing style in power
power can be in style.. when bboys talk about power they don't mean ten rounds of perfect airflares pointing toes.. power should be with flavour.. and again original bboys did have power for instance headdrills and backspins which can be seen in almost any old school footage.. peace
Yo you cannot do STYLE and POWER together, cause STYLE is the blue print of original bboying since day one,if you call yourself a original bboy, you would know whats best for you to not to gamble to do POWERMOVES,it looks good but has no art and sence to it,i mean ,come on,you can do style to the FUNKYDRUMMER on beat, and next couple of seconds you think you can POWERDANCE to the FUNKYDRUMMER?,no way that is gonna make sence?.
listen bro, todays breakin does earn credit for hard practice and effort, which is power moves, but these guys who are in this game of frame r missing out a lot of information in
with what they r involved in.FUNK is very impportante in bboyin there is no way out, no one can deny this. The young today will find it very hard to do foundational bboyin like 82,83,84,85,and 86.koolski,ken swift, crazy legs, spy, kid freeze, pexter

battle of the year is competition who have better tricks and power moves. Not Dance.

it's not style vs power, it's style vs no style. you can even do footwork with clean foundation but have no style.
